Massive games at the weekend for us relagtion fighters.
Swansea are oiut of the UEFA now so can concentrate on staying up..
They are playing top footy. BUt pulis may have the nouse to get a sneaky win or draw.
BY the way loved pulis on the commentary team last night v Tottenham. The rest are all, yeah well its all about passion, and they can play well and bla blah , bs after bS, small talk.
Pulis straight down the line with only what he would do to change the game for totenham , none of that small talk for him..
He has tactics on the brain...
He is the sherlock holmes of football. But I do feel sorry for his wife!

I've never seen an organisation (i.e. the BBC) so desperate to see a manager (i.e. Moyes) be sacked. It's quite sad.

Don't get upset by the knee jerk anti-americanism of our "allies". They simply are tied to their medieval tribalism. We Americans are smart enough to not be caught up in their silly conventions, which is why we gave Mad King George the boot long ago and did things our own way; hasn't worked out too badly. Sometimes I feel like we should have let Stalin eat Europe like a bit of toast with Caviar on it, then maybe like the Poles they wouldn't hate us as much now.

Kroos- maybe if they pay him 300k- because Munich unlike United(and very much like what United used to be like back in there hey day- Will not bow down to players demands, that is why they are the best and such a strong club)
Reus- well united seem to want to swap him and Gundongen for kagawa at dortmund. I know dortmund just hand over there players to Bayern, but will they to united. Kagawa on form isnt half the player Gunongen is let alone Reus!!
Mangala is going to be gone after by another 5 clubs.. United wont be his choice
but look- If they can get close to that - United are back- no doubts. It really is if they can do it - If they cant- which is what i honestly believe- just strengthen the midfield with anything- even a piece of wood would work
Dortmund didn't "hand over" anyone

LOL! I thought I would throw in some wind up material myself and get a little boobie for tat in there. But I do find your guys regional and tribal affinities pretty intriguing as a student of history. In the states we have our regionalism and racism. But terms like Scouse, mancs, jordies, and these places could be less than 100 miles away from each other. In the words of Jason Sudeikis "how many countries are in this country." I mean I always wondered why you guys all have one country yet field 4 national teams. I mean if you wanted to win the world cup maybe the first thing to do is to put your medieval tribalism to bed. Wouldn't that be like Spain fielding a castillian and a Catalan team.

Maybe better for politics..
But from a more general POV i have had certain Discussions with Americans before and they dont seem as harsh on 'glory hunting' fans..
I suppose its because the place is so big- Many people wont be able to feel a local affinity with a sporting club so will just pick any one.

No we call them bandwagon jumpers. It depends on the region and depends on the sport. Plus American sports teams are just businesses that aren't really tied to one location, many teams just up and move to a new city when they get better stadium deal. We have a lot of big rivalries between universities in college sports but you don't really see us have a punch up because someone supports USC or UCLA fotball.
But seriously I do wonder why you guys have 4 national teams for one country, seems counterproductive and a bit medieval to me but of course its your country and you can do as you please. It would be like Spain fielding different regional teams. Like a basque, castillian, or Catalan team. If they did that I doubt any of the three teams would ever win a major trophy.

Man United need to buy a good young British base like they did in the early 90s under Ferguson, like Liverpool did in the 70s and 80s and like Arsenal did under George Graham. Even Chelsea done similar with the likes of Duff, Lampard, J Cole, A Cole and Gudjonsson.
They should go for the likes of Luke Shaw and Ross Barkley to add to De Gea, Jones, Januzaj, Rooney, Welbeck and then sprinkle with two or three top class players.

No I get that, I know all about the history and unpleasant past regional rivalries. But take my Spain example, in Spain the differences are even bigger because those regional states don't even share the same language like your regional states. And Freek, Wales and Scotland aren't really countries and certainly Northern Ireland isn't one either. You guys have one national government and 4 national teams I can't think of another country that is similar.

No not like that, although Hawaii actually was a country and totally different country and culture as alien to the mainland as if we swallowed up the malaysia or something. Don't compare it to America. Compare it to spain, another ancient medieval empire with big regional rivalries. But yet they have on national team.

I wish a lovely country. I want to retire there if I can. My dream is to open up a beachside bar in Costa Rica and spend my time getting sauced and chasing native women. But most likely I'll marry my current girlfriend and be tied to a bunch of kids and die in some suburban retirement home. Puerto Rica is a territory of ours and they have their own national team, but you can understand that as they are a different language and culture for themselves.

yes but puerto rico may fully became a us state soon.
Trust me if that happens they will keep there own footballing team.. and you will then be in the same boat.
At the moment it is similar to malta or the falcon islands to the UK.

Puerto Rico would have to decide that question for themselves, the opinions up until a few years ago was to never become a state. But there economy is hurting and they get no representation in terms of votes in Congress so it seems like there is a changing tide of opinion. It probably would be more efficient for the people themselves to be our 51st state and opinion from what I read is that it is starting to go that way.

I doubt that very much. If they decide to become the 51st state they will most likely not keep their own national team. The only sport they could ever medal in would be baseball.
I wish Puerto Rica would vote to become a state, and then we could let the American south secede those boys down there really do have their own culture and country and drag the rest of us down anyway.

Some of the reasons given so far...
Tom Cleverley is the feeling I get when I masturbate but no spunk comes out
i believe that Tom Cleverly is the biggest pile of five knuckle shuffle going. ive seen nuggets play better than him!!
If Tom Cleverley was a period in history, then he would be The Black Death
I want to give England a half decent chance in the World Cup.
He's the worst player i've ever seen in an england shirt

but this is the thing- Scotland may never qualify for a world cup ever again- yet they will never ever want to lose there sporting team..
They would 100% go independent if that was going to happen(as sad as that may sound to many- that is the fact of it)

I am sure every striker loved playing with Heskey, if you scored a goal every twenty matches you would still look good if the other striker was Heskey. The same reason why every hot girl has an ugly friend, she looks even more attractive in comparison.

Not bad assit stats though Socal. A player that may have got a lot more credit today due to the styles of a one up one behind being more common. He held the ball up well. Highly undervalued IMO.

Did you not rate Teddy Sherringham and Peter Beardsley then?
Similar international goal records yet avoid the Hesky-esque flack.
As I said vastly underrated.

Yes but those guys scored a lot for the club teams they played on, from my recollection Heskey wasn't a goal scoring behemouth at either club or country. But then again I don't follow your national team that closely.

Scotland has a Parliament of its own, and a judiciary and legal system of its own, separate from England and Wales. It also has its own flag, so yes, a bit different.
