Offense
This week we will look to be a run based offense (60 - 40 split)
A fairly old fashioned football set up run run pass
Although the Chargers have improved there pass rush we feel Charles will be able to gain good yardage against a fairly weak run D
FB Sherman will come on quite often for McCluster
in obvious run blocking plays or short passing situations to help block JJ Watt
Passing plays will be a complete mixture ,mainly short & screens with the occasional long ball
Looking for Gordon and Bowe to match up well with SDC secondary hopefully making extra yards after completions
TE Cameron is a big boost for the offense adding blocking and big yardage potential
Looking for a conservative no turn over game from Alex Smith as we feel our running game and aggressive Defenense should win the time of possession and turn over battle
Defense 3-4
The strength of the Chiefs team is it's defense
San Diego's passing game is obviously the focal point of there teams offense so we will look to get some pressure on QB Rivers
The loss of Fisher to injury is somewhat negated with the pick up of Timmons
So we will go man for man at the corners and safety with the free safety adding cover
Allowing the front seven to put enough pressure on to force mistakes

K - Nick Novak
KR - Danny Woodhead
PR - Eddie Royal
LS - Mike Windt
Offence
With Andre Johnson and Ladarius Green out, we're forced to concentrate even more on the run. It suits us fine as the addition of Yanda who slots in at left guard for this game due to injuries, and Dunlap who is a good run blocker make it easy for Mathews to run behind. Woodhead will be utilised effectively on third downs for quick passes out of the backfield. In general we will try to run a short + quick passing game so as to keep Houston and Hali away from Rivers. Gates and Steve Smith still provide good targets to keep the chains moving. Controlling time of possession in this game is critical.
Defence
Jamaal Charles is indentified as the man to stop for KC. We are going to ensure he is stopped by committing men to the box and backing preventing him cutting off anything big whether on the run or on a pass play. Then we are going to make Alex Smith beat us. Even with some improved weapons on offence such as Gordon, who will be matched against Verner who will try to shut him down, the pressure Smith will be under from the destructive presence of Watt and Dareus as well as the rush linebackers will force mistakes and there is enough trust in some of ball hawking players in the secondary like Mathieu, Weddle and Verner to make enough big plays to stop KC getting anything going on offence.

Offense
Still pass oriented but with quick hitters to the outside or over the middle to keep the defense and particularly the pressure up the middle off of Luck. Two tight ends should help get the quick hitters going.
We want to run the ball to the outsides because through the middle probably won't get us too much luck. Rotate the backs to keep them fresh.
I expect they will want to match Peterson with Hilton to nullify the speed so try and move around at the line to get the match ups to send T.Y deep where we can.
Defense
Key in on pressure through the middle with Wilkerson and Jean Francois and take advantage of the softer middle parts of their O Line. Mathis will occupy Solder and occasionally switch out to the left to take on Vollmer.
We'll play zonal on passing downs with attention to the seams to watch Gronk, with the safety reading his routes and breaking where they can (depending on side). Be sure in the tackle and try to stop them from yards after the catch, particularly Fitz.
The use of a full back suggests they'll run behind him but Develin is slower than a snail in treacle, so we will crowd the line on running downs and keep them from slipping outside and let sheer numbers bring down Blount.

FS - Devin McCourty
SS - Steve Gregory
K - Stephen Gostkowski
P - Ryan Allen (like I'll actually need to use him Wink)
LS - Danny Aiken
KR/PR - Patrick Peterson
Overall gameplan: Look to get ahead early, and limit their time of possession with long drives behind the running game. If we go down early, abandon the run, let Tom Frak!n Brady do his thang
Offence
Simple on offence we're gonna run the heck out of it using Blount and Develin like in the Divisional Playoff game. Look to pick up good yardage, if it isn't working stick with it, it'll come. Look to get the O-line moving with a lot of zone blocking, and Blount can pick a hole and go. After a while the play action needs to be used, especially getting Gronk on their LB's and safeties, that's just a no contest. Wayne to move the chains again, Fitzgerald look deep on play action, get a one on one. If we go behind early, then look to pass more.
Defence
With them only going two WR, I want Peterson on Hilton and Talib on Rodgers at all times. Then I want us to bring Gregory into the box and play a lot of one deep safety in McCourty. Hightower and Mayo to take the TE's, Mayo on Allen, Hightower on the less athletic Fleener. Then Spikes and the front four look to stuff the run and get after Luck. Collapse the pocket from the middle with Wilfork and Suh, Ndamukong destroy Mankins. Look to create turnovers, and get ahead early.

Start out with a high tempo passing attack. Don't give the defense time to think or switch out players. Try and outscore Denver - no use slowing the clock and letting the defense settle. Target the weak secondary of the Broncos, specifically Pacman Jones. Try and move AJ Green around to get that one-on-one matchup and laugh all way to the end zone. Tyler Eifert will play a big role as well, matching up against the poor coverage linebackers and slot corners. Gio Bernard will come into play on screens and draws once again. Paris Lenon is poor and Von Miller will only be rushing the QB so Bernard will be able to create big plays.
Base defense is nickel again. The pass rush is good enough to disrupt Manning without help. Geno Atkins lined up nose to nose with Ben Garland is going to be a bad day for Peyton Manning. Manning has no mobility so inside pressure is the best way to collapse the pocket and force him into mistakes. With Dunlap round the edge, he can clean up Atkins work. Leon Hall is going to get physical with the slot receiver (assuming it's Welker) and disrupt the early part of his routes to make Manning hold onto the ball a little longer. Thomas and Jeffery will also be press man covered with Safety help if need be to minimise separation on shorter routes and give time for the pass rush to get to Manning.

Tactics.
Peyton having 4 quality players in Demaryuis Thomas and Julius Thomas to run through the middle leaving Decker and Welker to run through the wide sides hence exposing their defence. We will also use Monreo to power through with the ball.
Defense:
Rush 3 forward while mixing it up at time by rushing 4, leaving a few in a zone coverage defence, we have a good D and beware of the ball and if in trouble try and knock it out/down from the player receiving it or intercept. Put pressure on the QB and on their WR's

Overall Plan:
Limit Rodgers and Megatron. Expose weak secondary.
Offence
The O-line is somewhat weakened but Tobin should be able to do an adequate job at guard. Ertz will line-up on Matthews side to chip him before going into his route, which should give Dalton more time, seeing as he’s their main pass rusher. The plan is to run early and often to get Ward to come up to the line, he's better against the run than in coverage so we'll try to bring him up and then hit him over the top with Brown and Jackson. They'll mix up their routes between screens/short passes and go routes, with Maclin and Ertz working the middle and McCoy out of the backfield making sure Dalton has options and never has to try to do too much. Lane Johnson will line up outside sometimes to try to confuse the defence.
Defence
Bulaga’s out so tackles are vulnerable. Quinn and Cole are going to go after them all game. Fairley and Cox/Jones (rotating) will try to shore up the middle against the run. Kendricks to cover Finley and David on Lacy with Ryans out for Carmichael (3wr sets). Using the Giants formula, use the 4 man d-line to create pressure (blitzing more occasionally) on Rodgers, personnel is there for it. Outside, cover the receivers man-to-man, with the safeties in a two-deep shell (don’t let them win deep). Don't mind them having some success on the ground if we can limit them through the air.

Ace formation.
Look to mix up our attacks with Rodgers and Lacy both great options (70-30 split)
Use Lacy throughout as a power runner
Cobb and Finley in slot positions
Megatron and Nelson running deeper routes
Target weak cornerbacks who will struggle to maintain all options
Be agressive in attempting to stop the running game of Philly
Dare Dalton to get into a shootout with Rodgers and the mistakes will come especially if chasing the game
Attempt any field goal closer than 45.

On offence this week will will try to mix it up a little with option runs, running the ball with Peterson being led by Tolbert, also have some plays to try and get Newton some option runs. We will again play plenty of screen passes to Peterson, Tolbert, Olsen to try and beat the Seahawks rushing. We won't be afraid to let Newton through it big downfield though to Allen and Patterson stretching the Seahawks secondary, especially with Sherman out. Hopefully this will create space for the shorter/ screen passing too.
On defence, the key to beating the Seahawks is getting pressure on Wilson and particulary sacking him. So the likes of Edwards, Hardy, Kuechley's key goal is to get to Wilson. Short and Lotulelei will hopefully keep a solid based against the run.

OFFENCE TACTICS – Coming out throwing, expoliting their weak secondary (no Haden). Forte and 2 TE's to help negate the pass rush, then get open to keep chains moving. Big day for Dez. Once lead gets established, a fresh Lynch and Robinson come in to run out the clock.

DEFENCE TACTICS – All about dominating the line and stacking the box. Not allowing AP to break out and putting Cam on his derriere. Confident that Browner and Maxwell, with from Thomas, can keep their rookie WRs under wraps.

RB - Frank Gore
WR - Brandon Marshall, Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin
TE - Vernon Davis
OT - Joe Staley, Adam Snyder
OG - Mike Iupati, Alex Boone
C - Daniel Kilgore

ILB - Patrick Willis, Navarro Bowman
S - Eric Reid, Donte Whitner
CB - Tarell Brown, Trumaine Brock
K - Phil Dawson
P - Andy Lee
PR/KR - Lamichael James
Same as last week with Marshall and Crabtree leading the passing game. Try to get running game going, not afraid to let Kaepernick fly. Gore to see passes out of the backfield. Will try to take advantage of any two-on-one situations with Boldin and Marshall/ Crabtree. Look often to Vernon Davis against the safeties.
Try to pass rush Brees. Should be capable of stopping the Saints rushing game with McCoy, Smith & McDonald. If 49ers can get earlier pressure on Brees with Aldon Smith, Willis, Bowman. Try to rough Graham up with a physical game. Could go 3-35 with extra DB to cover Graham.
- Saints:
- QB - Drew Brees
RB - Pierre Thomas
WR - Marques Colston, Kenny Stills, Lance Moore
TE - Jimmy Graham
OT - Trent Williams, Zach Strief
OG - Ben Grubbs, Jahri Evans
C - Brian De La Puente
DL - Calais Campbell, Broderick Bunckley, Akeem Hicks
OLB - Cameron Wake, Junior Galette
ILB - Curtis Lofton, David Hawthorne
S - Malcolm Jenkins, Kenny Vaccaro
CB - Darrelle Revis, Keenan Lewis
K - Shayne Graham
P - Thomas Morstead
PR/KR - Darren Sproles
Offence – Graham to line up out wide again, specifically against Terrel Brown, take advantage of the 8 inch height disadvantage. Use the screen game to slow the 49ers pass rush, Sproles/Thomas both excellent at this. OL to get to the second level when using screens, key in on Bowman/Willis with blocks.
Take deep shots with Stills if 1on1, Colston likely to be covered by a safety, use the size advantage
Use Robinson as inside runner, early on, establish a running game so they can’t all drop back
Leave Strief on an island with Skuta, focus blocking on the 3 DLs and Aldon Smith. Bring in Armstead for Moore as blocker if OL struggling
Defence – Campbell and Wake to both line up primarily against the RT as Snyder is inexperienced in that position. A pressure on the centre, as Kilgore didn’t start a single game last year. On 3rd down switch to a 4-3 with Campbell/Hicks as DTs, with Wake/Gallette/Butler rushing the passer. Blitz down the middle on 3rd down, disrupt the new centre’s timing
We want to keep Kaepernick in the pocket, will primarily be rushing 4 and dropping 7 into coverage. Vaccaro and Lofton to mix up acting as spies on Kaep, confuse his reading of the coverage, make him beat us with his arm
Marshall on Revis Island, Lewis likewise on Crabtree. Patrick Robinson to cover Boldin, with safety help over the top from Jenkins. Vaccaro to cover Davis
MLBs to primarily look after the run, be aggressive when Gore has the ball, but also don’t over pursue and give Kaep a chance to break away.

Happy with that!
Barney I reckon the Eagles have a good squad, but the Packers in particular are just a matchup nightmare for your secondary .. that result is a bit flattering to GB IMO

- KC 21 v 17 SD
Tight one but Kansas take this one at the end!
Colts 31 - 33 Pats
Really hard to call both teams set up really well, however the Pats nick this one, the Colts played very very well.
Eagles 27 - 37 Packers
Eagles are set up well but feel that Packers would be too hot to handle in this one.
Panthers 17 - 21 Seahawks.
The seahawks have just enough to get them the win in this one.
Saints 21 - 14 49ers
Saints manage to hold of the niners and get the win.
Bull's
======================================================================================
Chiefs 20 v 24 Chargers
I like the Chargers plan. Force Smith to throw the ball then come after him with Dareus, Watt and Freeney. The Chiefs plan on a safe game by Smith but the pressure he would be under will probably force a mistake or two. The secondary of Verner, Weddle and Mathieu should be able to cover long enough for the rush to get home. The Chiefs on the other side rightly identify Charles as their main weapon but it is going to be tough to run on that Chargers defence. Tight victory to the Chargers.
Colts 21 v 30 Patriots
I'm not entirely for the Pats running the ball so much against this defence, Wilkerson should really improve it. They are selling out to stop the run which should slow down Blount at the very least. With one deep safety Rodgers and Hilton both get scores on deep balls having beaten their men. However, this brings part 2 of the Pats plan. Let Brady throw it once they go down, this is what they should be doing the whole game (I think anyway), with the weapons available to him and the weakness in that secondary (especially with Byrd out). Once ahead their defence will be able to get after Luck a bit more.
Bengals 33 v 27 Broncos
Once more I'm unsure about the Broncos gameplan. Last week they moved Jeffrey inside to work the middle, this week it is D Thomas. I don't understand when you have Welker and even Decker as options to move inside why you'd move D Thomas. Having said that Manning is good enough to keep them in contention but not good enough to win it. I like the up tempo Bengals attack, which should slow down the Broncos defence. They can also pressure Manning up the middle which is key considering their secondary isn't the strongest.
Panthers 17 v 24 Seahawks
Joe Haden's loss here is crucial. I think with him still there they might have won this one. Newton and Peterson like against the niners should have a lot of joy. The Seahawks have one of the best defences but I'm not sure even they could contain the best running back and probably the best rushing qb. I'm not sure if screens are the way to go against them though, I've never seen a team rally to the ball so quickly, usually meaning screens aren't as effective. The have the right idea in getting after Wilson, but I think Bryant will be able to help him out immensely. Having Forte start and then Lynch come in should really wear down the defence and could open it up late on.
49ers 16 v 23 Saints
Brees tears this secondary apart with short passes/screens and a lot of Jimmy Graham (I don't think roughing him up is going to work this time). However, the 49ers redzone defence limits the touchdowns scored so they remain in the game but just can't really break down the Saints defence. Revis should be able to close down one half of the field most of the time. Vaccaro is athletic enough for Davis. If they contain Kaepernick they can win the battle.

==============================================================================================================
Chiefs 27 – 24 Chargers
Chargers run game keeps it close, KC hitting a game winning FG as time expires.
Colts 23 – 30 Pats
NE get big lead and hold off late Colts rally.
Bengals 34 – Broncos 37
High scoring shoot out, Manning just having enough to out do Ryan.
Eagles 28 – 38 Packers
Eagles play well but can’t contain Rodgers all game. A-Rod hitting Megatron for 2 TD’s late in the 4th.
49ers 28 – 31 Saints (O/T)
Game tied with Kaep rushing in to take it to overtime. Saints kick and Gore coughs it up for the home win.

==============================================================================================
Chiefs 19-17 Chargers
I see this being a defensive battle, both teams defences should do very well against the opposing offence. I expect Chiefs to really struggle with Watt, given the absence of Albert. This should lead to some turnovers for the secondary. Likewise I think the Chiefs D Line to have their way with the Chargers OL, especially with Yanda being a new signing. However I expect Gordon/Charles to break one big play more than the Chargers skill players are able to, and this should be enough to give them a very close win.
Colts 20-26 Patriots
The biggest problem for the Colts is that they have no real answer to Gronk, and I can see Brady going to him over and over again with success. The secondary should match up well with the wide receivers of the Pats, and I think they can do well there. I expect Hilton to break a couple of big plays, as I think Peterson is liable to being beaten deep, and like them moving him around to get him into space. Neither team will have much of a running game, so I expect big plays to be most of the scoring. Advantage Pats
Bengals 31-26 Broncos
Houston and Burfict are massive losses for Cincy, as is Vazquez for Denver. The pass rush is hampered by having Gilberry, and this is likely to give Peyton that little bit of time to get the ball to Julius Thomas who I think will have a big day. I think Denver will be able to roll coverage towards Green, and bottle him up to an extent. However the Broncos gameplan is so weak, I think Bengals will overcome their injuries and win well, with Eifert and Bernard doing damage
Eagles 24-27 Packers
Eagles are lucky to have one of the better back up QBs in the league to come in for Foles. I think they will be able to score well, given the strength of the receivers after the catch which will suit Dalton's shorter passing game, and McCoy will run well against the Packers interior. The Eagles have made a bit of an error using 2 CBs as their base defence, Calvin and Jordy will murder those 2 corners on the outside, and Cobb will do well against the safeties. The game comes down to the Eagles DL, one of the best in the game vs the weaker Packers OL. I think the Packers will do just enough to give Rodgers time to get the ball to his outside 2, and they will bring them home
Panthers 20-19 Seahawks
On paper, this is a pretty tough one to call, especially considering the absence of the top 2 CBs for both sides. I think Seattle will have success with Dez and Harvin, but the strength of the Panthers front 7 is ideally suited to limiting Wilson's time to throw, and the LBs are perfect for preventing his improvised plays. Carolina will run the ball with AP and Cam providing a dual threat, not forgetting Patterson's danger on end arounds. I think Seattle have made an error by challenging the 2 WRs to beat them, both excellent in different ways. Browner hasn't played for a long time, and I think he can be beaten, especially by Patterson's sheer gas. Going to give this to Carolina by a whisker

Colts 24- 31 Patriots
A highs scorer here, as both sides have the offence to put points on the board. The Colts have tried there best to stop Gronk, but I think he still has a big impact and causes havoc whilst Fitz will put put up some big plays. The Colts offence will be able to move the ball, but they’ll have to mount some long drives as the Pats will shut down the run and take away the big hit to TY. Two TE’s is a good ploy, but they just can’t keep up with the Pats scoring and fall narrow losers.
Bengals 24 – 20 Broncos
I think the Bengals will sneak this one. AJ Green will do some damage through the air, whilst Eifert will step up in the absence of Jones and make some crucial plays to keep moving the chains. I believe the Bengals D will just provide too much heat and too much pressure on Peyton, which will eventually make a difference as they cannot quite put together the game winning drive, so the Bengals scrape home by 4.
Eagles 17 – 27 Packers
McCoy will have some joy running the ball against the Packers, but Dalton will struggle to get the passing game going. This will become an even bigger problems as Rodgers will connect with some big plays to Megatron, who has a massive game. Again, whilst the Eagles will have some joy on the ground, the Packers ability to keep turning the scoreboard over will prove too much for the Eagles and especially Dalton as they just won’t be able to keep pace.
Panthers 17 – 14 Seahawks
A low scoring affair, but I like the Panthers in this one. Whilst the Seahawks secondary remains strong, even with the loss of Sherman, I like the improved aerial attack of the Panthers with Allen and Patterson both providing big plays options, as well as the reliable Olsen. The Panthers D will be the key to victory though, as they will manage to negate the effect of Forte and also get enough pressure on Wilson to force some mistakes and create turnovers, which are the key to victory.
49ers 21 – 20 Saints
Tightest game of the week for me. This even more improved Saints D is mean, and won’t give up too much against this 49ers offence. Despite this, the niners offence has a lot of option now whether that be running it with Gore or throwing to the three WRs, that I don’t think the Saints can stop them all game. Whilst Brees et al. will make some plays, I think the niners D will also make some too which means that they run out narrow winners in this one.

Chiefs 13-27 Chargers
Both offences going for the running game but the Chargers are set up defensively to stop the run more than the Chiefs are and I think that will be the difference.
Colts 13-20 Patriots
I think the Patriots are set up well against the Colts passing game. The Colts may get some joy running to the outside but not enough to put a great deal of points on the board. The Patriots run, run, run tactics suggest a low scoring game.
Bengals 27-24 Broncos
A close game with an OT win for the Bengals.
Eagles 28-35 Packers
Well matched game on tactics, I just feel the Packers will get more points on the board through Rodgers compared to Dalton than the Eagles will running with McCoy over Lacy.

Colts 20 @ 30 Patriots
Like the tactics from both sides
Colts will make some plays but not enough to live with the Pats
The Pats O just has too much fire power for the Colts D
Bengals 24 @ 27
Bengals 24 @ 27 Broncos OT
Really like the Bengals tactics
Broncos have there WR's set up wrong IMO D.Thomas should be outside of Welker
The Bengals will keep this very close if Julio had been fit I would have given them the win for the superior tactics
But its hard to see Denver losing at home ,so home win in OT
Eagles 27 @ 34 Packers
Good tactics from both sides again this week
McCoy will have a big day 100 + yards Lacy won't gain as many yards but will still have a decent outing today
Just cannot see Dalton being able to keep up on the scoreboard against the Packers air onslaught
Packers to win reasonably well
Panthers 17 @ 23 Seahawks
Good tactics from both keep this game close
Panthers D should keep Hawks O in check for the most part but don't see there O scoring a lot of points either
Seahawks just look too strong especially at home
49ers 26 @ 29 Saints
Great match up and very good tactics
Very tough decision as these teams are fairly evenly matched up
will be quite a few decent drives with Defenses then holding firm near the red zone
Saints win with late FG

Re: Gameweek 2
Unless I calculated incorrectly, the Packers should have gotten 33 points (29 for their average and the 4 for the number of times they were predicted to win (8 x 0.5)). I still lose but it would look far more respectable if I'm right. Please tell me I am.
