You mean all the slot receivers you have, right? They have no go-to guy.
The Giants will win games by running the ball this year and the Lions defense just didn't allow them to do that.

Can they run the ball with a bad OL mind. Scheme looks a poor fit for Eli who's never been particularly good at making quick reads and getting rid of it.
Dunno, I just got the vibe of desperation this offseason. Never would've believed you a year ago if you'd told me Tom Coughlin and the Giants would be outbidding the Jets for the services of the King of Dogging it (giggle) DRC

Glad I missed the second half of the Patriots - Dolphins game.
Especially on offense.GSC wrote:Said it before, reset button might be coming in New York. Team is seriously talent deficient.

Yeah. I wouldn't have switched system before Eli's time is up. I'm still more hopeful than most. Some Giants fans are calling it a 3/4 win season.
I just don't get all the hand signals. What's wrong with a good old yell?
Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
Tbh I'd rather go 2-14 than 7-9. Too many teams are scared to gamble losing mediocrity and trudge along. If you hit rock bottom you have to rebuild.

Seemed to me more of a "we have to scapegoat someone" move to fire Gilbride (not that it wasn't warranted for a while). Then hired a scheme based on how well it would minimise the OLs role and hoped it all came together.
As I say, to me it looked like a case of a FO and coaching staff realising they were in the poop next year with the status quo.

Had some spare time so had to look it up. Thought it may have been the Raiders, but of course he threw one last year. Good question though, and he won't be able to get the full set this year...

AP wrote:A law enforcement official says he sent a video of Ray Rice punching his then-fiancee to an NFL executive five months ago, while league executives have insisted they didn't see the violent images until this week.
The person played The Associated Press a 12-second voicemail from an NFL office number on April 9 confirming the video arrived. A female voice expresses thanks and says: "You're right. It's terrible."

To be honest more people seem intent on getting Goodell fired than any great outrage over handling of said video (to be honest, I really couldn't care).
Which I don't really get because hes just a public face for the owners. If hes replaced, his replacement will do the same things.

Quite interesting that Belichick was asked about the Patterson trade. Given the way thats shaken out so far, he may want a mulligan.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
We got Jamie Collins (promising young starter like Patterson), Logan Ryan (good rookie year last season, not a great camp this year and fallen a little on the depth chart, makes plays tho), Josh Boyce (whiffed on him tbf) and we traded the seventh rounder for a great year of production from Blount.GSC wrote:Quite interesting that Belichick was asked about the Patterson trade. Whilst Patterson is potentially gonna be great, we got our own breakout candidate at LB and other helpful pieces so he'd be happy

ones already gone, ones on the PS, ones buried on the depth chart and the other isn't as good as Patterson

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
Got a good year outta Blount, basically ran us to the AFC title game through January.
Boyce seems like a failed punt
Ryan 4th string, still getting game time and making plays (forced fumble against Miami)
Collins is a beast. Get on that hypetrain

Well whenever the Baltimore/Buffalo/Indy span was then
Ryan also had the 3rd most INT's in the league last year.
Patterson's a great player (or going to be) but we did more than as well/if not better from the deal

Wonder what the odds are on Romo being the 1st to throw 3 or more INT's to every other team in the league?

Going by that, it just seems like discipline. Doesn't deserve the "Child Abuse" headline.
