From what I saw of Zaha at Palace and during the preseason I liked it. The banging of Moyes daughter and his attitude at Cardiff though has certainly taken him 2 steps back, seems to be a thing with a few English players that after the initial burst they go backwards for a while (Morrison, Berahino, Sterling, Wickham etc)

Relative to other countries we have so few young prospects that the ones we do have are thrust straight into the media spotlight, it's happening to Barkley as well, looked superb for most of the season then starts getting some plaudits and his performance levels drop right off.

For instance if Rooney wasn't English, he a) wouldn't have cost so much and b) would have been able to progress at a steady rate and would have become one of the best players in the world.

It's quite telling that the best english player of his generation Paul Scholes got very little media coverage and was left alone to become the great player that he was.

Good player but also a pathetic person by quiting England because he had to play a game on the left.

He also did a tevez at United and refused to play once

Petty person, great footballer

Not really pathetic when you're the one getting shifted to the left in favour of a pair who couldn't carry your jockstrap, a more than justified decision to make.

Too be fair, there isn't much that separates those three and opinion will differ depending on whose fans you ask.

I don't really agree with giving yellow cards for time wasting, the time should be added on at the end but I do think football should introduce the same system they use in Rugby, any break in the play and the clock stops.

To everyone else, all three were very good players who are highly rated around the world. Lampard is the least talented of the three but still a top player. Its debatable between Scholes and Gerrard.
England's overall performances with Scholes at CM were no better than they were with him at LM.
