Won't be malky, feel it would have been sorted by now as no compensation to sort.
Plus don't see him fitting The criteria set by the board, he's as defensive as hughton was

Mackay or Adams for me.

Outside chance it might be Zola.

No one else from those 3.

Why on earth did that take so long? Someone has got to have said no. Good for him though. Comfortable job too, many a manager will envy a man who gets to start out at a financially sound club just relegated with those kind of parachute payments.

I'd imagine Mackay said no...

I'm not too unhappy with it, as long as he's given help in the transfer market.

If we'd earmarked him as a man for the future why not give him a go now. And as you say he's got a good base to start grom

It is pretty obvious we got rejected by our first choice, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was Mackay.

Adams is a good coach, a very good one, and he showed some decent management traits in those five games. In the new structure he'll be allowed to concentrate on getting the team ready for matches and the coaching side of it, whilst we have a DOF bringing in players.

Also happy this means we'll see some of young uns given a go, some are very promising.

Sure he doesn't have the experience, but I've always said experience is overrated.

Words cannot describe how relieved I am it isnt Lennon

Indeed, unfortunately never a guarantee with any manager appointment

Seen people comparing it to the Gunn appointment. Its nothing like it, the Gunn appointment was the last desperate act of a penniless board, he had no coaching experience whatsoever. Adams is a highly thought of coach, who has had success. Whilst it's fairly obvious he wasn't first choice, you're not always going to get your first choice, but that doesn't make him a bad manager or it a bad appointment, its why you have a shortlist.

Stringer, Brown and Walker were all moved up from being youth team.managers to first team manager here so not a bad list for Adams to join. Would be great to see him do aswell as they did

They're one of the clubs I fear losing him too, but Ruddy was here wayyyyy before Watson and let's face it after Watson was part of the team who didn't take him to the WC, and Ruddy's rather vocal displeasure at that, I can't imagine the relationship between the two was great

I don't think he'll have had much impact on the final decision. Hart was nailed on, Roy loves Foster and Forsters been much better the last 2 seasons

I'm fairly sure he said in an interview in one of our programmes that Hodgson asks him before every squad which GK's he thinks should be in, I'll try and find it (yes I'm that sad I keep match day programmes)

Yes Hodgson asks his GK coach for his opinion on GKs, well done Olly. The final choice is still Hodgsons.

Overnight, a rather incredible set of quotes has been attributed to the Palermo President, Maurizio Zamparnini about why he's selling Lafferty.

Zamparnini told an Italian radio show:

'It is a request made directly from the manager (Giuseppe Iachini) & at the end of the season I said that Lafferty was not manageable."

"He is an out-of-control womaniser, an Irishman without rules. He is someone who disappears for a week and goes on the hunt for women in Milan."

"He has two families with six children, he never trains, he`s completely off the rails. On the field he`s a great player, because he gave us everything he had and more."

"In terms of his behaviour, however, he is uncontrollable. My manager told me he cannot sort this player out, so he has to go."
