Rooney was England's only 6/10 player last night. Everyone else was 4/5 out of 10.

I'd rather watch England play and go out at the group stage than grind to a last 16/QF and go out on pens. Seen that enough in my lifetime and its depressing. Rather play a way that might see us to success in the future than one that takes us nowhere.

Hart is a dodgy keeper. How the hell did he get caught twice by those Suarez corners? Very poor, I would have zero confidence in him as a defender.

Johnson is a terrible, terrible defender. He doesn't close down his man, he labours back into position when he's been forward, got lucky with a heavy touch on setting up Rooney's goal. If we had anyone else bar Kyle Walker to play RB, they'd be guaranteed a start. Shame Wenger doesn't like Jenkinson else he'd have been our RB. I'd hope.

Baines was atrocious yet again. Poor corner delivery, poor crosses (only 3 this game, 0 the last game). He is not international class.

Cahill was solid for most of the game, but he took his eye off of Suarez for one second and BAM! Second goal. Shame.

Jagielka must have had slippers on, he fell over so often I lost count. Surely his last England appearance. I'd rather have had Rio Ferdinand than Jagielka last night.

Henderson was a lost sheep for most of the game.

Gerrard was shockingly poor. But then, isn't he always for England? Time for him to retire and let Wilshere, Barkley, Ox and co take over.

Sterling was cleverly marked. They put two men on him every time he got the ball. He's got to expect that, and he's got to work out a way of dealing with it.

Welbeck didn't even play, I didn't see him do anything of any significance. Possibly the worst England player last night.

Sturridge was flopping around like a high jumper last night. Embarrassing.

Lallana looked good.

Still, at least Belgium are going through Euro Division Homepage LXXIV - Page 17 3559488474

Ugly scenes at the Hawthorns where Lescott has passed a medical. I bet no one's ever made a joke like that before.

 drumroll

Good player, but not what we needed. We actually need:

First team LB
Backup LB
First team RB
Backup RB
First team RM
Backup RM
First team LM
Backup CM
First team ST
Backup ST
Backup ST

Lescott, and the rumour of Rodwell, doesn't fix any of those 11 needs.

No point in loaning Rodwell to sit him on the bench. Use the loan space for a striker or a winger. or a full back. If Liverpool sign a LB we could conceivably loan either Kelly or Flanagan. Or Tony Hibbert.

Still think john terry should have gone, best CB in England last year and wouldn't have been caught out for the first goal last night,

Also did was i the only one to notice every time welbeck had the ball we ended up going backwards

Terry was protected by Chelseas tactics. He would've been badly exposed yesterday.

If we can reshape our defence ahead of Euro 2016 then I think we're on the right track with the other talent we have.

Time for Johnson to go. Bring in Flanagan.
Baines may be sat behind Shaw now.
John Stones should be ahead of Jagielka.
Phil Jones needs to develop into a proper CB.

I actually don't mind Johnson. Could tell he wasn't fully match sharp after missing most of the season. Overlapped well. Would've been alright with midfield cover.

Johnson has been the first choice right back mostly because second choice is Kyle Walker.

Given the two, I pick Johnson. But he loses the ball constantly in the final third, and his defending is suspect.

Here's hoping Clyne or Chambers at Saints come through.

I prefer seeing England successful. See, there's this thing called balance where you have both good attack and defense. In the previous world cup it was too defensive, this one is too attack minded. a 4-3-3 with two centre mids and someone who goes box to box is my ideal formation.

That'd be great if we have 3 cms to play it, but thus we don't

Our strength was our attack and we tried to back that to win us games, it hasn't paid off unfortunately, just haven't been clinical enough. As I said I'll always rather see my team lose having a go, then grinding out bore draws 0-0

What will happen first - the LTA producing a good tennis player (i.e. top 5) or the FA producing a good English team (i.e. genuine challengers)?

At least Kieran plays in a position we need. He may be a poor LB, but at least he is a LB.

He was wonderful when he came on loan to us. One of the best players I've seen at the Hawthorns in the last 20 years. Definitely top 5.
