Haye comeback plans
First topic message reminder :
Wants 2 bouts this year. Accepts they may have to be fairly low key (by hes standards) wants to earn he's ranking and unifye in 2/3 years. Sounds too good to be true! If he does carry out these plans it will go against what he's done he's whole career. Is this haye reliseing he will have to work and does have the desire or is there more to this?

Re: Haye comeback plans
no he is not, overrated? He is a two weight champ and deservedly so, just because the casual fan buys into the hype then moan when he loses to wlad does nt change the fact he is a class boxer. He's not faultless he knew how to make millions from the hype but I see it as a waste of talent that he didn't box more at heavy.catchweight wrote:rycoys wrote:whatever. You think of haye the fact is he is a seriously talented boxer fury is not!catchweight wrote:Haye is hugely overrated for me. Talks a good game, exudes a lot of confidence. But hardly anything in his performances that deliver on his supposed talent or excitement. He was useless against Valuev and Klitschko and has spent his career in two p1ss poor divisions facing has beens and never weres. Having said that, Fury is worse. But at least he delivers entertainment and isnt a rip off artist like Haye.
He is an overrated boxer with an overrated record.

Sham of a heavyweight champion in a p1ss poor heavyweight division and was the genuine cruiserweight champion in another p1ss poor division for about 18 months. Hardly stellar stuff. Never looked anything special against anyone who wasn't average.
Good at making money though. Il give you that.

Sky cut pay per view after the Audley and Wlad fights. Says a lot about Haye.
Haye is a transparent chancer. As Peter Fury said it was blatantly apparent what Haye was up to as in signing a fight contract and then continuing to negotiate fights with other parties for the same date.
V2 must be due another Tyson Fury interview. Anything planned?

Klitschko is no great shakes. A solid, well drilled pro but not a great boxer. The fact Haye couldn't make him break sweat and spent the whole fight running, flopping about and offering nothing says plenty about Hayes supposed great talent as well as his actual ambition. Even some of the stiffs Klitschko faces routinely supply a bit of effort and guts.
The rest of Hayes record is a couple of half decent but unimpressive wins over boxers like Valuev and Mormeck (nothing special) and then boxers like Chisora, Audley Harrison and Enzo Maccarinelli.
Yes in general most of the boxers hes beaten have been pretty rubbish. The few that weren't he was nothing special against.

Re: Haye comeback plans
I liked Haye at CW, but now on reflection his career and resume - despite being a 2 weight champ - smacks of mediocrity and smokes & mirrors. He is a cynical guy, looking to fast track his way to the top and exploit as much money out of the casual fan as possible along the way, whilst exhibiting no real passion for the sport or consideration for its fans. He is a good self publicist, but ultimately he will be remembered as a charlatan who failed to deliver.
Is he coming back because he realises this and his ego won't accept it? It's certainly not because he needs the money. Personally I hope that he returns to low fanfare and even lower viewing figures, a dose of humility and the lesson that boxing fans have lost patience with him is exactly what he needs. He needs to prove himself to the fans again, but does he have the patience & desire to fight 3 times in a year, on non PPV events to work his way to a title shot? Personally I doubt it, he has a colossal ego and inexplicable sense of entitlement. Fury would be a mug to agree to fight him again, especially if a shot at Wlad presents itself after he beats Chisora.
Now that Eddie Hearn has Sky in his pocket, and after Haye burned their fingers before I can envisage him having to go to BoxNation to get a platform, how the mighty have fallen. He has talent no doubt, but any difficulties he has in reigniting his career are all of his own doing and I dont think there's many boxing fans that'll be shedding any tears for him.

Suspect that will be the line he will spin. However think it is nearer the mark to suggest he is coming back because with the WBC belt back in the mix there is a less arduous route back to a belt available and thus some more paydays out there.

Re: Haye comeback plans
Fury was already in line to fight Pulev with a shot at Wlad afterwards yet FURY decided to withdraw and sign for a fight with Haye for a career high payday, but suddenly Haye's a b!tch for pulling out of a fight that Fury signed for TWICE whilst apparently knowing that Haye would renege on any deal anyway. Poor Fury, if only he'd taken the Pulev fight and beaten him because, let's face it, he's the best HW on the planet like he says, he'd have already fought and beaten Wlad but instead we had to endure Wlad/Lepai.Sugar Boy Sweetie wrote:I liked Haye at CW, but now on reflection his career and resume - despite being a 2 weight champ - smacks of mediocrity and smokes & mirrors. Fury metaphorically punching himself in the face this time.
