Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
IMO many united fans probably just don't want to admit that after their huge spending, the are still potentially outside the top 4 in terms of first team quality and squad depth.(Could put a case forward for anywhere from 3rd-6th in my eyes). Far easier to blame everything on moyes than to admit that their squad just is nowhere near the standard they have gotten used to.
As for Cambridge, they were excellent! Actually gave as good as they got in the first half. When Man U enevitably took control in the second half they defended brilliantly. Well deserved.

Down the pub, I've already heard 'it was raining, conditions were awful', 'we'll just do them at home, we're still through' & 'it wasn't our first team'. No mention of LVG here.
It wasn't our first team? Funniest excuse you'll probably here
And yet I here it every day on one forum or another!!
Well look at the positives .it wasn't 4-0 against,

They are naming Smalling, Young, Mata, Rooney & RVP.
As for Di Maria, just astonishing how poor he's been. £60m spent & all I've seen him do is score a class goal vs LEICESTER in a game they lost & when he destroyed a QPR side at OT.

Whilst we will most likely still go through that's an awful result.
Embarassing really. A poor performance should have saw us win comfortably so I don't know what you call a draw.
Glad I missed the game but fed up of our lack of urgency/ideas in attack (saw half time analysis).
Players need to get the finger out. Manager Needs to get them playing.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
I just can't stand LVG though, he's like a really irritating & poor version of Mourinho, when he first came to the PL, in terms of his interviews & trying to be controversial. 'Everything was against us'......blah, blah, just embarrassing. Does he not know Cambridge are in L2, have a small stadium & a poor kept pitch, they don't have the hundreds of millions of pounds to spend, unlike you. The weather is equal for both sides & then to blame the ref, who I thought did hardly anything wrong, was laughable. For such a great manager, these excuses are terrible. For someone who's so detailed in his approach & training, the fact he's chosen Phil Jones, one of the worst technical players the club has, to continue to take corners, is mind-boggling. His systems don't work, yet he's too stubborn to change it, funny that for such a great manager, it took chants from the United crowd against QPR shouting, '4-4-2', for him to suddenly realise it wasn't working. Pretty clueless to me.
Yes, he'll no doubt win the replay & will probably gain a top 4, however, if I was a United fan, I would be massively disappointed in the slow progress that such a supposed great manager of his generation is achieving, with, I might add, ridiculous amounts of money being spent.

I dont like him either. I doubt deep down United fans do either- They just want to put faith into him, and hope.
Which in all fairness is fine- as they look like they are getting the one and only job done(back in the top 4)
Until that is in danger Man U fans will not care.

You're not the only one. Radamel Falcao's agent has taken a swipe at Louis van Gaal by claiming he would prefer if the striker was playing under Sir Alex Ferguson

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Anything is a relief after moyes, hence van gaal getting an easy ride.
Don't think crowd chanting has anything to do with it either, changed to 442 previously in games.
He was also quite complementary to cambridge if you read his whole interview transcript and not just the headlines. Was critical of his own side too.
If we can get a bit of form together we should be in 3rd come the end of the season.

I think the Arsenal rejects are your new front pairing Mysti
Yaya & Chamakh seem to be a epic partnership
Yaya & Chamakh have scored & Bebe is ruining Marcelo in La Liga....

Saints Palace a hell of a game. Good to see Swansea go out (even if it cost me money) and I'd be happy to see Saints go (even though it will cost me money)

City are being given a tough game by Boro, their keeper has pulled off some fantastic saves as well.

plenty having a go where i was, we all realize its a building process but he has to start doing better than that sh!t last night (and the last few games), we supported moyes as long as we could until he didnt improve at all over a whole season and had two windows to improve the team

Kompany and Fernando both at fault for that goal, scrappy as they come but Boro won't care.

Unfortunately, the fans couldn't get Ashley out during that woeful run of results, so they went for the easy target. Pardew would forgive, but he wouldn't forget & so it proved when he walked out. I wasn't a part of it, I never wanted Pardew gone, for the issue of making the club unstable again. Still don't think Pardew is a brilliant manager, he was getting slated about a year ago, with the head-butt & our run of form. Funny how things suddenly change after wins over Dover, Spurs & Burnley.

Can't see Liverpool, United or Spurs avoiding each other until the final, so can already see this being a dud year, in terms of a top game for the cup final
