Correct. It's the beard that's slowing him down, and making him angry all the time.

Or he could just fit a spoiler to his beard. it might make him more aerodynamic and produce enough downdraft that his handling will improve.....get it...handling

You might have to get the crayons out again to explain this one to me.
Hamilton is covered in tattoos, sports a big beard and is somehow more attractive to JK Rowling...
is this a symptom or the cause of his unquenchable anger?

An openside would be nice. I've only seen Hardie play at ITM cup level and he looked pretty useful. Has anyone seen him play in Super Rugby?

Seen him play quite a bit at super rugby level and he is very good but has been injury prone the last year or so. Highlanders have another very good 7 in Shane Christie who may start ahead of Hardie this season.

What do people make of it being Favaro. Slightly disappointed I'd say. Was hoping it would have been John Hardie. Favaro is ok but nothing startling and not sure what he will add to Glasgow as he isn't any better than Fusaro and is likely to be away during the international periods.

He's a 7 isn't he? Does this mean one of Holmes or Fusaro will leave? Spinks and Bordill might be a bit peeved too

I've always been pretty impressed with Favaro. As signings go, it's not earth-shattering, but just quietly pleasing.
Whah pleased me more was the Glasgow Twitter account describing this as "Our first new signing for next season". Good news.

Yeah he is a 7, similar size to Fusaro. Would imagine if one were to leave out of Holmes and Fusaro it would be Holmes as he hasn't played a great deal this season. Again though if Holmes does leave they could be short of 7s in the international periods if Fusaro was to break back into the Scotland team and Favaro is in the Italy squad.
Would liked to have seen Bordill given more of a chance and think Spinks will come good next season. Size wise Spinks will probably be the biggest out of the openside options for Glasgow.

Exactly, its suddenly looking a bit crowded at 7. I quite like Holmes, but presumably Favaro is his direct replacement. I would have preferred to see Bordill and Spinks given their heads too...

You would hope that the SRU/Glasgow/Edinburgh priority would be to sign SQ players wherever possible. As regards the John Hardie coming to Scotland rumour, I would guess it's probably not going to happen as Edinburgh have plenty of options at 7 already (presuming Blake will be signed to join Grant and Watson).

I think this probably does put the Hardie rumours to bed. This will probably also mean either Fozzy or Sherlock are off in the summer. I agree Sherlock would be preferable. If Toonie is looking at Bordill and Spinks every day and doesn't think they can be back ups for next season that is dissappointing but I'm happy to trust his judgement.

Favaro is a better player than Fusaro in every aspect of the game:
Favaro is incredibly physical for a 7 and is just what Glasgow needed:

I actually wonder if there is a question mark over Fusaro and whether he's good enough for top level rugby (where Glasgow want to consistently be) due to his lack of power. He may well be falling off the Scotland radar already with Cowan, Watson and Blake ahead of him in Cotter's thinking.

I would rather have Favaro over either Fozzy or Sherlock. I suspect it will be Holmes who is off to pasture.
Let's not be sniffy - Favaro is very good - 23 caps and he's only 26. His best years are now. Toonie also said in the press release that he thinks he can cover both 6 and 7, so this is another avenue to stop Harley being flogged.
I think that as this was announced first it will (hopefully) be one of the lower key signings but as long as Toonie is replacing existing squad players with those at least as good as those whom they are replacing, then I'm happy enough. That's what has happened here.

Agreed, cant see Hardie coming over to Scotland to play. I know he turned down the SRU's advances a couple years back so obviously he musn't be fussed about playing for Scotland so if that is the case then better left alone. Hardie is a very good 7 but he has had a lot of injuries and we do have a lot of young 7 options coming through so maybe the SRU feel they don't need him especially with Blake coming over who is 4/5 years younger.

Forget Hardie - he's not a Pocock or McCaw. Let's move on.
I am happy that we've signed a good, aggressive loose forward of international quality and experience.

You're probably right. A back row of Strauss (6), Harley (7) and Ashe (8) is in my view the best Glasgow can field at the moment. I can't see how Fusaro and Holmes being included is an improvement. Jonny Gray and Naka supplement in terms of mobility, handling and workrate.

Trickle down economics always prevails eventually (and by that I mean not in anyone's lifetime) and provided you went to the right school and university (only joking, the right school will do), the door is never closed.
