Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Then surely it has to be split into 2 different categories?
Sport and Gaming. One definition for Sport and another for gaming and then you can categorize it all you like as to what fits where. Football, Rugby, Cricket etc are in the Sport category. Darts, Gaming, Snooker etc are Gaming.
Gaming has more intensity. The last I knew video games like Fifa and Football Manager were just another activity for anyone who has some spare time. Frankly, I still think (and most would agree) it is. You stop to make drinks in a video game, I do. You can have a break but keep it open, I do. I don't really chat to anyone.
So if I am having a game online with a friend on Football Manager, I physically exert myself more for 5 minutes on 1 game than having the stress of my career to think about, people to see and (as you say) at least 8 hours of stressful work to attend to where in that time I have to get up, see people, go to people's offices whereas I'm sat starring at a screen wanting a few homographic/dots to pass a ball into a net. I'm sat down and relaxed. No heart rate or physical activity involved in that whereas there is much more at work.
I for one don't slowly type at work. I actually have WORK to do and I would much rather speed up my typing and talking skills at work than pile an extra hour onto my workload at home. I do 9 hour shifts per day (apart from weekends) and yet I still don't get my daily work done there. I have deadlines to meet, people to see and courses to attend to, I don't have the time at work for anything else.
And for whoever said you're not a "professional gamer" , give me strength. A professional gamer doesn't mean playing against a professional CPU on Fifa you know. I'm not quite sure what it means actually.

Quite simple really but you seem very ignorant on the subject, a professional gamer is someone who gets paid to travel the world and compete in gaming tournaments, most have sponsors as well.

You're definitely a WUM FL, on FIFA 13 I did enter preliminary tournaments that enable you to progress into the big events shown on those backstreet channels nobody has heard of, needless to say I didn't get very far. Virgin media do a lot of sponsoring on the EA games tournaments and aside from the monetary games they set up they do 'sanctioned' tourneys, still not a sport though.

I think half the limits here are that your knowledge of "gaming" is FIFA and FM.

I get spanked at Battlefield
I just can not play it any more.
I have all the help in the world(150mg fiber optic connection, insanely high powered PC, can run the game at 90 fps , ultra graphics on 1440k)
I still average 1 kill to 10 deaths. Its demoralizing.
Goldeneye N64 was the game I was boss at.

Decent finish as well to be fair to him, cross from Henderson and he took it on the volley while sliding.

Sanchez just nearly scored from about 30 yards, ball barely moved until about the penalty spot when it swerved to the left, Mignolet nearly fooled by it.

Cleverly should have scored there, strangely Skrtel and Agbonlabor seemed to be hugging on the edge of the box as he went through on goal.

This is painful yet again, ditch the bloody 3-5-2, it is not working in the slightest, Rooney in midfield also isn't working, he's too deep to impact the play and Di Maria is too far forward and with no service offers nothing.

starting to have doubts now about magical LVG. Pretty clueless in how to set this team out, playing too all your negatives really. Wasting talent, if this was Moyes, it would be carnage. United look awful.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
This is one of those games where I don't mind the 3-5-2. 3 back to deal with Austin and Zamora, Valencia and Blind (I think) making the small pitch as wide as they can and the best players working centrally. You're right though, I have no problem with Rooney in midfield but Di Maria is wasted up top and Rooney will be smarter in tight marking against the backline. Di Maria up top only works in a counter attack

It is only slightly short of remarkable to buy a player for £60m because of his exploits in the middle of the midfield, and then spend an entire season playing him everywhere accept there.

He wants to use him like he did robben in the world cup.
I think it's the 3rd game he has tried it (could be wrong) so ge hasn't had long enough to make it work or see if it doesn't.
Personally I don't think it will, but I can see the method behind the madness.
