Stiverne-Wilder for the WBC Heavy Title. Who Takes It?
First topic message reminder :
WBC champ Bermaine Stiverne & No 1 challenger & KO artist Deontay Wilder clash this weekend in Las Vegas.
Neither are particularly tested at the top level, with pretty much Stiverne's top level fight other than Lumbering Nipple Cris Arreola was a bit of a struggle against Ray Austin, who was about 96 at the time. Wilder on the other hand is crude and untested with massive power but there is a question mark over his chin as he's been all over queer street in some early videos when he's actually been hit. Wilder has height and speed, and Stiverne is tough, solid and is more experienced. It is an intriguing match up. Stiverne's 36, Wilder is 29 and a potentially very exciting fighter, but could turn into the US version of David Price.
At the moment Wilder is the betting favourite; however, I have this nagging doubt about what Wilder would do when tagged with a half decent shot. I think this fight has excitement written or over it. I doubt very much that it will go 12. Wilder seems to only know one way to fight and that is to bulldoze his opponent from the get-go and wing fast hard punches from all angles to get them out of there. Most of his opponents have been overwhelmed by power and speed, but he hasn't faced anyone who has obviously come to fight. I see Stiverne going down under an early onslaught but getting up to weather the storm. He'll make Wilder miss and take him out by round 5. Which, in all likelihood, means a 1st KO for Wilder.

Good think with Stiverne is he sat on the ropes against Arreola, and whilst he took some big shots, he counter hard and fast.
If Wilders chin IS suspect, then he could fall for that trap.
Going to be explosive though and I can't wait.

I can see Stiverne hitting the deck a couple of time before hopefully weathering the storm and taking Deontay "No Plan B" Wilder out.
Is the referee British?
How many Heavyweights in history have had a Plan B ?

mike tyson. Plan A - smash the granny out of him. Plan B - bite his ear off.
john ruiz. Plan A - hug him. Plan B - hug him some more.
Audley Harrison. Plan A - hope he doesn't hit me. Plan B - lie down if he does.

The talentless Fury won't go near Wilder if he wins.

Lot of people asking what time @BSTIVERNE v @BronzeBomber is in the ring on @boxnationtv. First fight 3am and it's 3rd fight. Guess 4.15

Stiverne will win. Have bet £100 on it - great odds.
After seeing Wilder at the weigh-in and his nerves - this might be Lennox vs Grant 2. Guys bum is squeaking big time. But, might be a case of Clay vs Liston.
I doubt Wilder has Ali's skill and Stiverne is pumped up and ready. Maybe to pumped up and will take silly shots - that get him Ko'd. Luckily, for Bermane he is fighting Wilder - who's accuracy is poor.
Stiverne is the most important, in this fight, and how he goes about it. He should win and I've put £100 on him but I'll not cry if Wilder shows his true worth..

That Maldonado dude was tough as they come. Every time he got knocked down his limbs flailed like he was out, yet he always rose to his feet. Respect.

Re: Stiverne-Wilder for the WBC Heavy Title. Who Takes It?
2 2 ruiz landing lots of body shots but cruz doing the better work
Re: Stiverne-Wilder for the WBC Heavy Title. Who Takes It?
3 3 ruiz turns up the heat great little fight
Re: Stiverne-Wilder for the WBC Heavy Title. Who Takes It?
4 3 cruz landing clear powerful hits ruiz taking em well but looks a little knackered
Re: Stiverne-Wilder for the WBC Heavy Title. Who Takes It?
Oh come on, Ruiz was perfectly conscious, making LSC miss, throwing back. Finishing is basically just flurrying at a guy's arms now.

I think you may appreciate this jbw. if you look at snuffy ffrom sesame street...is that face not based on Steve bunce
Re: Stiverne-Wilder for the WBC Heavy Title. Who Takes It?
Weak stoppage. Santa Cruz shows again he is a big SBW. He's a lot bigger than Frampton who doesn't have a great reach.

Wilder sitting on his jab pretty decent but moving out of range pretty sharpish nothing clean landed wilder wins it on lack of aggression from stiverne and his own pretty good jab

Re: Stiverne-Wilder for the WBC Heavy Title. Who Takes It?
Stiverne siting back blocking well taunting wilder who lands a good jab stiverne landing a couple but nothing serious Frak hell wilder went apes hit and smashed stiverne bell saves him
Re: Stiverne-Wilder for the WBC Heavy Title. Who Takes It?
Those jabs are really snapping Stivernes' head back now. Clever from wilder not just storming in at the beginning of the third.

Wilder doing good with nice straight hits but stiverne still sitting back and blocking away. Wilder very nice jab and nice one twos. Stiverne cracks a couple to body but bulk of good work is wilder. Interesting fight
