This is an interesting battle, and very much a case of brains v brawn.
French flair is long gone, they now rely on the likes of Bastareaud and their pack of overweight lumps to get over the line.
Ireland are very much a team of robots, Joe gives instructions on how to dismantle a team like IKEA gives instructions on how to make a cupboard. With the right personnel in Sexton, SOB and the likes of Heaslip at the helm, they should be able to devour the French fatties like they're the last square of a Kinder Bueno.
All logic points to an Irish victory, but as so often happens the French defy logic.

Maybe it's an ethical thing. If you break a law you SHOULD get caught. No bias. That's across the board.

When was the last time France failed to score a try in back to back matches???

50/50 IMO, just get on with it and don't scream at the Ref. Can't stand play acting that's why I don't watch football anymore.

Barnes blocked Cronin's defence, so how was it scrum to France? His interference benefited them!

Thr only one I have an issue with is Kockott. The other ones have been here for long enough to be considered as French than I am. Its opportunistic poaching allright but clearly not as bad as organised poaching (Anscombe anyone ) if I go by Biltong scale of Poaching
Anyway well done Ireland not sure why they went awol in the last 10 minutes... Almost got my draw prediction right...

Ireland good for their win - looked very strong in 1st half. French looked a rabble until the game kind of fell apart in final quarter.

Right, there have been at least 4 reports made about comments on this thread in the past hour or so. Now rather than wield the big stick and threaten bans, I'm simply going to ask you to read the following link, and then ask yourself the question as to whether or not you feel that bickering over the internet is really the way to go.

It wasn't a 50/50 call. The rise of the knee was not a continuation of his stride. Any fool can see it was intentional. And as such it was rightly punished. Do you agree with punishing lawbreakers tightHEAD????

clivemcl, as an Irish fan, it looked very close to me. It was dangerous play but I am unsure about the intent myself. If it was, as Barnes said, intentional then a red card was the minimum in my opinion. I just didn't think it was intentional and the game should have just restarted. It really hurt Heaslip though.

Re: Ireland V France
For what its worth it didn't look intentional to me and we can't all agree on this or look at them the same way BUT what I can't understand is after the ref decided it was intentional and dangerous then it should have been a red if that was the case.

Re: Ireland V France
Quite a disappointing performance. If Sexton hadn't completely butchered a great chance we could have finished the French off with 25 minutes to go. As happens so often, we control most of the match only to completely lose it in the last quarter. We couldn't have complained if France got the draw.

I think Pape is just daft, does that kind of thing regularly as some forwards tend to. Not an excuse in any way.
