Hey Jahu - Ja I watched with my girlfriend a short while back. She loved it, I was not completely sold. Better than Elysium, but I don't think better than District 9, which was really a great film allegory of life in Johannesburg.

Tomic v Kokkinakis - who will win this then?
I would have thought Bernie would be favourite but Kokkinakis is with the bookies. Worth a bet?

I suggest we keep this on for today's matches on RG and TVs for todays matches. Historical TVs and such should be discussed on the thread that JHM is unlocking.
@JHM, should we sticky the TV thread? IMVHO, it should be a sticky.

Looks to be a long time thing, so perhaps. I would maybe suggest it be a sticky for tv's and other point penalty related things, like the Kyrgios thinglaverfan wrote:I suggest we keep this on for today's matches on RG and TVs for todays matches. That was posted before the thread was unlocked, but it applied to the match that was being played at the time

Fognini a set and a break down. Could easily lose this in an hour or win it in an hour...not watching but you never know with him.
I've been reading that Tomic is struggling with illness, but I would still have thought he would start as favourite. I'm going to back him anyway.

Best way to stop people posting to a thread - make it a sticky! Let's keep it 'active' awhile longer.

Monfils is on, Tsongas just urned up to court, Berdych is on the warm up. Not bad for the slow part of the draw

Please don't make it a sticky. It would be like brushing an important topic under the carpet. If players are losing games, sets and matches on the back of tv's or able to take extra time without warning it is relevant at the time. If the topic is made a sticky then presumably if/when a match is changed by the loss of a first serve then we won't be able to discuss whats happening when it happens. It would be hidden. It would be similar in some ways to making say a backhand down the line a "sticky". Just something to be discussed as a side topic and not an intrinsic part of the game.

To be honest, whether Wawrinka did or didn't is immaterial. All that really matters is whether Nadal is making a special request or not, ie is this permitted, or has he gone round the back door?

Diego Schwartzman giving Monfils a lot to think about. He leads 6-4 4-4 and is at deuce on Gaels serve.

I've not heard of him, but it's an interesting combination of first name/surname.

Monfils breaks to win a tight second set and is back level at 4-6 6-4. Vital juice being wasted though with Federer awaiting in the Fourth Round (if they both get that far).

Re: French Open Day 3 & 4
If this was the weaker half of the draw as most people agree it is growing weaker by the minute as the seeds tumble. Out today have gone Fognini, Bautista Agut, Gulbis and Verdasco. Also Monfils is in peril as he is serving to stay in the third set against Schwartzman.

Well one has to wonder at the uncomfortable silence when he sat at his Grandads knee and asked "What did you do in the war.....?"JuliusHMarx wrote:CaledonianCraig wrote:Diego Schwartzman giving Monfils a lot to think about. He leads 6-4 4-4 and is at deuce on Gaels serve.

Schwartzman now two sets to one up. Playing really decent stuff. Monfils blowing very hot and very cold - as is his norm.

2-2, deuce 2 sets to one down, goes for a flying forehand drive that clips the back edge.

Isner I think guest. Hes 5-13, his 5 set record is very bad, mostly he just cant break in long sets and tires, it took 11 hours once...

Re: French Open Day 3 & 4
All still in place for the Murray v. Nishikori final (with Murray beating Nole in Sf, but falling short against Nishi, ironically) - one can dream:)
On rankings, as Temporary21 spotted: drop from 26 seed to 86 rank for Gulbis Mahut, who was 116 could overtake him if he wins next match! And quite surprisingly too, Rafa will be guaranteed a spot back in the top 10 if he wins, at least, his next 3 matches.
Djoko should be there in QF to welcome him back in the top 10
And he'd need at least a Final to have a chance to be over Cilic in the rankings (let alone Stan and Ferrer...)

I watched Schwarzy last year at the FO, aged 21, and he was outhitting feds at times.
For someone of 5'7 his ball-striking is fantastic, very good regardless of his height.
