Bet if it was Rafa, the ump would have picked a 'big' point for that overrule clanger.

Don't think HE monitors the match thread these days, but I will try to behave. Are Novak's big ears still fair game? They are, at least, live on court.

Stay focussed Andy. Starting off pretty decent here but must hold serve. Does that and keeps the squeeze on Novak.

First blood for Novak. Andy totally suckered and hasn't won a point since the dizzy spell. Only has himself to blame.

Good! This clay season has been full of firsts from Andy. Why not a first win from a set down against Novak?

First set to Novak and I'd suggest the match as well considering how the previous matches have gone between these two.

Novak got the doctor on, complaining of dizziness. Proceeded to break Andy immediately and serve out the set with ease. Shades of the AO.
Disappointed in both players; one for pulling the act (assuming it is), and one for being suckered in yet again.

SO is this how Djoko carries the mantle of the Number 1, that you were pushing down my throat? Faking injuries every GS?

Re: French Open 2015 Day 13 - Let's get ready to mumble....
As much as Andy is to blame for allowing himself to be psychologically played, something really needs to be done about this whole Novak & trainer theme....which even ignoring the AO has become a re-occurring act over the past 12-15 months.
For me it's gamesmanship of the highest order and isn't to different to what many people hate about diving in football. It is gaining an advantage through deception...because lets face it...for a man of Novak's athleticism and fitness (something he is highly renowned for) there isn't a chance he should be feeling any effects just shy of an hour into a match.

I do love sour grapes... I wanna go out and buy some now... thanks JM.
In all seriousness though, it runs the risk of his opponent doing it one day to counter, and the match becoming a complete debacle

Re: French Open 2015 Day 13 - Let's get ready to mumble....
Andy got quite a few 30-30's on Novak's serve and a couple of 0-30's too, but has not done enough there after. But even so, it looks like Novak can hurt Andy far easier than visa versa.
This looks like a straight setter to me.

Gamesmanship would be lying about touching the net, like Raonic vs Delpo.
He beats Andy because of his tennis not with the trainer coming on.

It is no massive surprise to me. It would be nice if it was something other than a straight setter but like you that is what I am thinking.

I agree this wasn't gamesmanship. Murray has no excuse for being beaten by the same ruse twice!

Not at all; In fact I am a big fan of Novak. If you want to show a kid what hard work, focus an determination can achieve then look no further than him. In an era which was being dominated by two men, Novak realised just how much extra work he would have to put in...he did it and is more than reaping his rewards. However that doesn't excuse him from criticism when it is just, which in my opinion it is with regards to these incidences. The simple fact is that it upsets the rhythm and any momentum of the other player...it's no different to Nadal taking an age to serve (which ive seen plenty criticise him for) or indeed Murray wiping the frow too often...the difference in Novaks case is the delays are usually much longer thus have a larger affect.
Re: French Open 2015 Day 13 - Let's get ready to mumble....
I'm not buying this injury faking stuff as even close to an excuse. If Andy wants to get this H2H competitive again, he can't be affected every time Novak gets squiffy for a few points.

Three times but whose counting. I really would like to believe that - once no problem, twice you start getting suspicious but three times and its nailed on. The sad thing is there is no need to resort to it. Of course what a mug Andy is for keeping falling for it and he can only blame himself. Key to why I think it is clearly gamesmanship is the times of the match he wheels it out - when in trouble and under pressure.

No I am not using it as an excuse. Players are in control of themselves out there and you react accordingly to it. However, that does not make what Novak does any more palatible. He is good enough to win matches (as he has shown here) without resorting to such tactics.

Nobody's blaming it as the sole reason for a defeat, Novak is clearly just better than Andy today. But it doesn't exempt the act from criticism.
Same with kingraf's bizarre assertion that it isn't gamesmanship because he's done it before. So? It's still affecting the opponent and seems to be a deliberate attempt to throw him off his game. I want Novak to win today but it's a shame that this has happened.

SEETHING.
Andy is continually bigged up as the big 4. There isn't a big 4 and there never was. There was a big 3. Now it's just a big 1. Murray isn't in Djokovic's league and you need to realize that to avoid further disappointment.
