It is amazing what you can get away with. Back in the days of boom I worked for one of the big banks. There was a bar on site and a group of us (and others) hit it hard pretty much every evening of the week. On several occasions it would be pretty much be Thursday lunchtime (4 pints) through to Friday 5pm actually leathered. It was target driven so we'd get our work finished by Thursday lunchtime but still a bizarre experience being drunk in the office. The shenanigans were ridiculous.

Things are looking up. My colleague has bought me a portion of chips and theres a vegetable tart with prawn sauce on the menu. ~And these kebabs are fried mince patties not donner kebab. Sumptious when hot miserable when cold.

Just gone 5pm here. Quite a nice day really. Up early, now in weekend mode almost.

Had the first shift of my new career last night. Handsomely paid for a couple of hours of work. Felt guilty taking the cash and insisted it was less but hey wouldn't have any of it.

I hope I'm wrong. But I did the same; so there is eventually some light at the end of the tunnel.

No I'm still working in finance until October 31st. Just setting up a business after that and word has got around. Doing work at 3 houses but last night is a big one. 2 hours to do the lawn alone. Also have a mate who is leaving London and buying locally - the place has 22 acres and he wants me to look after it.

Ah... so like a farm manager then? Did you do the lawn by hand, with a pair of scissors or on a machine?

Cheers Jeff. Early days but the guy last night is a mate's Dad. He retired when he was about 45 after a series of successful business ventures. I think he sees me as a project and is already offering to buy my kit. Too proud to take that help but he has come up with loads of good ideas for the winter that I hadn't thouhgt of.

Squirrels tend to move quite slowly in winter so you might want to nail and few with the ride-on or strimmer and post on here.

A michaels success story is just what's needed to invigorate this site since Tino's death.

Looked like a squirrel, but I was travelling rather fast, so it may have been a rat. Was also quite flattened by the time I drove past, so I really don't know

If you're driving by a rat and don't squash it then you need to take your test again.
