Agree with every word of that.
If Farrell comes out for the second half we've lost. He's been diabolical. We're making great breaks on first phase set plays but as soon as we get to their 22 it's stodgy predicable crash ball and we get turned over. Farrell has gone missing outside of first phase.
Ben Youngs is our only creative player and our only chance of scoring a try outside of frist phase ball.
They do seem to be freezing in the Australian 22, if they can change the mindset and run the last 22 the way they are running between th 22's then they could turn this around, hell of a big ask though against a really good looking Australia team.

???
Ben Youngs is one of the main reasons you are behind. He is painfully slow getting to the breakdown. England's backs look dangerous with quick ball but right now, Youngs is so slow that he look like he is related to Greg Laidlaw.
Overall, from a neutral's perspective (and without any anti-English bias) this is a good game to watch

Wait...May is off?
So Josephs has been moved to the wing and the English midfield is now Farrell and Barritt?

Ford we needed. Farrell we didn't. Once again the uninspiring Farrell and Barrett midfield. Haven't we learned about that already.

Poor bench selection is shown up as our best attacking midfielder has to make way because we have no back three cover.

Re: England vs Australia, 3 October
Youngs at scrum half is playing poorly with looping passes putting the receiver under pressure. This game is opening up which will suit Australia, if they get a bonus point Wales should field a weak team next week to protect what players they have left.

Why? The bonus point wont matter, if Wales win they top the pool and vice versa

I'm sorry, but what other conclusion are we supposed to come to other than Lancaster is a poor selector of players? I have no doubt that he's a fine coach.

Burgess should never have been on the bench. Either in the starting XV or out completely.

In that situation, why do no teams ever tap the ball and go for the drop goal?

Oz are getting the rub of the green with the ref.Why weren't Oz done for holding on? The English guy (Cole I think) was on his feet, supporting his weight etc

Re: England vs Australia, 3 October
I really feel so sorry for England as the crushing inevitability of this brings back painful memories for me of Ireland in 2007. Maybe there is time for a miraculous turnaround, although given what the Aussies just did to the English scrum there...
Marler is getting pinged off the pitch, doesn't matter if its him or if its their 3, the ref has made up his mind so why is he still on?

Should England not pull off Marler (if you'll pardon the expression)? He is getting murdered and the ref clearly is watching him. We had to change both props at half time in our first game. To hell with egos, if they are getting pinged every time, you need to change something

How do you pick a bench where the only way you can cover an injury to the back three or outside centre is by destroying your midfield?

Cant understand the booing, the guy was trying for an intercept. I always wondered if Northern Hemisphere crowds know the rules. But good singing though (although they could do with some variety).
