And No TLD the problem is with our computers it seems. I.T. are running around like headless infidels.

I was just out dumping some left over body parts into the bin about 20 minutes ago and I was looking towards the east on my way back.
It was black over there towards Coogee. Orange glow here just before the sun went down. Quite a surreal atmosphere.
Mate and our partners went for Ice Cream there one evening (I had Lager not Ice Cream). It had turned dark but there was an amazing storm coming in off the sea or at least seemed to be. Lit up the horizon everytime there was a flash of lightning. Quite humbling experience to witness.

Only plus 30.1 now. A nice breeze too.
It is very British here today. Grey, overcast and drizzling all day.
Kids in school uniforms crowded outside KFC and MacDonald's? Makes me sad seeing that.
Yeah, very sad.
Problem here with all the paper wrappings and near empty thick shake containers attracting ibis and other opportunistic avian predators.
Every McDonalds brings with it such a blight on the landscape... not to mention early onset diabetes for the native birdlife. A big shame.
Horrible to see a vicious Indian myna bird pecking at a chicken drumstick out in the KFC car park too. It's hell out there.

Is Coogee still home to Chish and Fips?
One of the all time great fish and chip shop names - although not remotely in the same league as "For Cod and Ulster".

Morning c*nts (and Lord C*nt, Sean)
Took me a f*cking HOUR to get to work this morning, combination of fog, c*nts with foglights who don't know how to use them and just general c*ntishness for the people of Bradford.
Found out some kid is bullying my daughter at Nursery and my wife has nominated me to be the level headed, non-confrontational one in the family to deal with it. All in all, I think I did rather well, ok, Nursery may have a few child places available suddenly and at least two staff vacancies but at least I didn't actually lose my temper

Haven't been there for a while, super. I'm not particularly attracted to the shape of the headlands there... too exposed (unprotected) and creepy for my liking. Too many dodgy folk hang about the area as well.
I'm more of your northern beaches type. Billy (Bilgola), Whale and Palm Beach (Summer Bay) for me. Born in Manly, so I like Queenscliff and Freshwater (Harbord Beach) which have a sentimental attachment to me as well.

Good job Dave.
I know its not the done thing but encourage your daughter to hit the little sh1t hard and low. My daughter was getting repeatedly hit by her cousin and I told her it was ok to hit him back and to make sure she hit him harder than he was hitting her. She started knocking seven bells out of him and he's now stopped hitting her.
Lessons learned all round!

Failing that, Dave, I'll send my eldest round.
He'll smash the little sh*t to pieces.

The Central Coast is great for beaches - remember MacMasters Beach being a particular highlight.

Yes, that's a very nice beach.
That's where I puked (we say spewed) body surfing down a big roller early one morning. I went past tipping point and my breakfast just rolled out.
It didn't even touch the sides of my gullet either. Fed a few gulls that day....

My daughter has done similarly super. Taught her to grab the inside of the elbow and twist outward to stop the others from grabbing her. Now she takes their toys and bring em home to me

Totally agree. It's a hole.
Full of foreign w*ankers who all look so out of place (however they don't all look the same to me) and it has a kitschy, fake atmosphere.
There's a few drownings every now and then when some poor unfortunate Korean gets "sucked out" by the rip. So I've heard.

No, Coffs is further up... about 450 km north, the Central Coast starts other side of Hawkesbury River ... about 80-100 by road from here.

My nephew's been a bit rough with her when playing "Police" so I showed him a few restraint/compliance techniques...he didn't like them! I've told him to be careful in future and thus far it seems to be working.DAVE667 wrote:It's a girl who's doing it. Her Mum is as fit as f*ck so I don't want to kick up too much of a fuss

Had a couple of 'accidents' in soft play when some older kids were being rough with my daughter when she was still a toddler. Amazing how far they fly off when hit by a simple swivel of the hip.

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
This has reminded me of the early days with ex. I was invited to a picnic in a park with all her friends and their kids. Thought I'd make an effort to impress by playing rounders with the kids whilst the parents drank. When it was my turn to bat I absolutely leathered it but the foam / plastic bat snapped. Kids too busy looking at the ball so I stuffed the two ends together and handed the bat to the next kid. He swings, makes minimal contact and the bat snaps in 2. Kid cries because it was a birthday present and runs off to his mum. Lived with the secret for many years till now.

When my ex was a toddler, her mum took her down to a well known swimming group. The coach (now 94... and an MBE, ffs) ripped her out of her Mum's grasp, picked her up and threw her straight into the deep end. Then he said something like "she'll learn quick!". Turns out he was right. After balling her eyes out for a while she did become a very good swimmer.... years later.

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
My youngest cousin visited pakistan once with his mum when he was about 3 and on the first night came out from the room and tried to get his mum's attention. After my increasingly harassed aunt turned to him to tell him off he says what's this mama. He's got his hands clamped over the mouth of a 4 foot snake. They flew back the next day and I had to shout at her a few years back to let him travel with me to my other cousins wedding when her son was 21 years old.

CCR were great. Would sound good in the freezing cold as well as here in the heat. My favourite (more obscure one) is Born on the Bayou.
Thing is these days with all these legends dropping off left, right and centre... it's sort of uplifting and melancholy at the same time.
I was only listening to The Last Resort around Christmas (Mum likes it a lot... so we we played it to Miss from a former Soviet Socialist Republic before Christmas lunch... she also really dug it having never heard it (or the Eagles?) before. Then poor, not so old Glenn Frey carks it a few weeks later.

Yeah, when they split up in 1980 he did that and that You Belong to the City a few years later. I preferred Don Henley's solo 80s stuff more.

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
sean, did you see that 2 part Eagles documentary where Keith Moon and Joe Walsh formed a unique friendship and went from hotel to hotel trashing rooms? Sick and hilarious. They threw TVs, small pianos out of windows into pools, Walsh bought Keith a chainsaw for his birthday even.
They were prevented from entering the lobby of some posh hotel in Chicago because they were wearing jeans, so Moon ducks off to a store and buys black spray paint. They are then seated on these ornate chairs. When they left... the exquisite gold embroidery had a fair bit of damage. Think they did about $28,000 worth of damage in one night.
Personally, I could never do stuff like that. OK... maybe throw a shoe at some bad art at most.

Mad bastards. Walsh is lucky to be a live really. The others had to pull him aside and get him into rehab. He was going downhill so fast.

Hugh Jackman has been sighted near Royston. Now we know the true source of Tinos ire.

Perhaps Jackman was banging the mountie? He was only wearing sunglasses as a disguise, not expecting windows to be there?
