The Dew Drop Inn
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

No, even I don't have one of them.
I am like Stag's mate, the opposite of a band wagon jumper. When I started on FB I saw all these photos of people trying to look sexy and I thought right, how am I going to subvert this?

As a farmer you're allowed to get away with wearing whatever combo. Most farmers prefer the overalls tied at the waist with a vest in the summer don't they?

Ah no I have to come into work at 7am instead of 9am next week
But I get to leave at 3.15 instead of 5.30 which is good.

That's in a certain type of magazine.
Last night I was in my vest, shorts and Blundies. I was not wearing a cap (shock horror for the older generation who would be in a string vest, flat cap and old chapel trousers)

I would give anything for a raise.
I was checking my salary this month compared to September 2009 when I got the promotion made permenant and a raise with that. My wages (including paycuts, compulsory holidays, Governement taxes, levys etc) and my wages are down around €1000 a month.
shocking

Staggy - I find I'm far more productive that time fo the morning, and it's nice you get to leave earlier. Just getting up can be difficult...but it's not so bad at this time fo the year.

Its not that bad but it means I will need to stay at my girlfriends place all week. Otherwise I won't be able to get to work.
Its because people are sick/on holiday I have to do the job I left previously.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn
The sun has just come round to my window. It's a five foot tall single glazed Edwardian sash window and will shortly turn my room into a glass house. It is 25 degrees outside and my fan is just moving hot air. The sun is spitting at scones.
The good news is that the Magnums have just arrived
It's too hot for farming now even. I need to move some sheep, but they are panting like he'll in the shade and I don't want then going down with heat stress. I'll do it at 9 o clock tonight. I love this time of year.

It’s nothing hectic anyway (never is!) but it’ll pay for the rent increase when I move on up, to the east side, to a de-lux apartment in the skyyyyyyyy!

Glas – you’re the perfect man to ask this question. How come sheep can regenerate their wool so well? I mean, anthropologically speaking what advantage did growing wool all over their body give them over other species? I know it keeps them warm but does it not over grow if they were left to their own devices? Or are the sheep that farmers harvest wool from specifically bred that way in the knowledge that they will be sheared every year anyway?

when will you get it? next pay day? any chance of it being back dated or anything?
is the elephant still in the room with regards the moving out conversation?

I’m going for a pint with him after work, will let him down gently there.

The latter. The ability to grow more wool than they need has been bred into them. They would shed it themselves eventually, but the amount they have on them would in itself be a welfare issue.

Read a brilliant article about the scrum. Best one I've read. Talks about what the players are doing and why this is leading to collapses. It talks about the efforts being made to stop it happening. It talks about the top 10 Dark Arts of Front Row. It talks what the referees are doing wrong.
Very very good article. Can't find an electronic copy.

Break back in the 2nd set for Murray to level it at 3-3 in that one. He keeps going walk about mentally though, he's got to stop doing that if he's got any chance of winning this one!

Gimmie a pint of something, I really don't care what it is as long as it's extra cold!
I have just spent the last 60 minutes in a PVC Hazardous enviroment suit in 27 degree heat! (for the record thats the inside temperature it's actually 22 outside at the moment). Sweating bullets here!
I just hope it stays like this all weekend. BTW has the baa baas team been announced yet anyone?

That was for Radge by the way
It's too hot. I volunteered to help prepare for a network performance in Uni over the next few days purely because I will be in an air conditioned building while doijng it.
This time of year is awesome from about 9-noon and 6-11pm! The afternoon is too damn hot!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn
Its an amazing team. But I'm gonna back Wales to take them. I know it flies in the face of logic but Mike Phillips to have a good game along with centres, backrow and back 3. Wales to get parity at lineout but taken apart at scrum.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn
I fancy the Barbarians I have to say! But I expect Mike Phillips and Gavin Henso to have big games as they both have a lot to prove... add in a dangerous back three and a talented backrow and I wouldn't be surprised if we see a grandstand finish!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn
Wales:
15) Morgan Stoddard (Scarlets);
14) George North (Scarlets),
13) Jonathan Davies (Scarlets),
12) Gavin Henson (Unattached),
11) Aled Brew (Newport Gwent Dragons);
10) Stephen Jones (Scarlets),
9) Michael Phillips (Ospreys);
8 ) Toby Faletau (Newport Gwent Dragons)
7) Sam Warburton (Cardiff Blues, capt),
6) Danny Lydiate (Newport Gwent Dragons),
5) Luke Charteris (Newport Gwent Dragons),
4) Ryan Jones (Ospreys),
3) Paul James (Ospreys),
2) Huw Bennett (Ospreys),
1) Ryan Bevington (Ospreys),
Replacements:
16) Lloyd Burns (Newport Gwent Dragons),
17) Scott Andrews (Cardiff Blues),
18) Alun Wyn Jones (Ospreys),
19) Josh Turnbull (Scarlets),
20) Tavis Knoyle (Scarlets),
21) Rhys Priestland (Scarlets),
22) Scott Williams (Scarlets)
Stag, I think the scrums will be OK to start, but I worry about Andrews coming on second half. His club coach (and presumably mentor as an ex tight head himself) will know all of his secrets and is coaching the BaBaas. Lets hope the two hookers in the Welsh coaching set up have a few tricks of their own (but I doubt it).
My concern in the scrum is the lack of balance in the second row and Bennett.

It all depends how Wales treat the game Notch. If they get drawn into the exhibition game they could struggle. But I think they will treat it properly.

My mate was in pre natal classes with his wife the other day and they were talking about pain relief in labour by massage of the perineum. This was in Swansea. So a bloke says: "the whaaa?" and the midwife explains politely for a bit before the penny drops: "ooooooh, the chin rest you mean..."
