5000-1 - The 2016/17 Premier League thread

Dalian Atkinson has been tasered to death by the police.

"Died after being tasered" is probably a more accurate description than "tasered to death

I went Liverpool to score first with my initial, but Liverpool win BTTS with my risk-free. Was a nice way to end my usual awful opening weekend bet.

No Payet in the XI, no Feghouli in the 18, and Enner starts. Might be a long night. Antonio right back is the weakness...lets see if Chelsea know that

Looking forward to this match, should be a good one.
Interesting with Kante and Matic together in midfield but Oscar has had a decent pre-season so can see why no Fabregas in that position. Hoping Matic will get back to his title winning season form because we will need him this season.

Oscar going down like he's on at the theatre, He'd probably have got a pen if didn't. Costa booked for his protest.

Won't sign a striker cos Ayew can play there. He gets injured. So now Carroll has to stay fit...that can only end well

Least Masuaka looks good. Everyone else has been awful. Injury list is already bad, but if we're done in the transfer market then we're left short

It was a good goal but we should have won this game by now, we were well in front in terms of most stats just not goals.

I was even surprised when i saw the stats in the second half and you had 0 attempts on target..
I must admit i don't agree about Kante especially, think he was harshly booked that early on in the first half, especially when we hardly see that happen.

Both Kante's were clear as day. Chops him down from behind when turned, and the second one is laughably late.

Re: 5000-1 - The 2016/17 Premier League thread
If we'd lost that match 3-0 we'd have gotten what we deserved, and Antonio at right back just aint gonna work, but to come away from it looking at Costa in particular, its infuriating. Kante I can accept as letting him have one cos hes been turned and done, but Costa was reckless and dangerous.

Nobody does "we deserved nothing, but here's a few excuses" quite like Dolph.

Re: 5000-1 - The 2016/17 Premier League thread
You're telling me Dolph that if that is the same situation with Carroll and Courtois was in Adrian's position and there was a chance for him to slide in an intercept you would prefer him to stay on his feet and relieve the pressure on him? It was clearly mistimed but i would rather my centre forward went in for that challenge.

Nothing wrong with going for it...the fact he was about 3/4 seconds late was the problem - he should've gone

To be fair, Michael Vorm is probably best second choice keeper in the league.

I'll be happier that they have Vorm rather than Lloris in goal when Liverpool play Spurs, he always seems to have a mistake in him and we might just need a clanger to be dropped

Won't be out for too long and definitely got the depth to cover it. Annoying but not devastating. Shoulder injuries are generally just a couple of weeks to a month.

There's a picture of him driving from the training ground in a sling, That would suggest something other then dislocated if driving surely.

Re: 5000-1 - The 2016/17 Premier League thread
Sounds promising. Can just imagine Klopp telling the squad he's looking for someone to step up to the plate and this little hand pops up at the back, and a voice says,
"Boss, pick me!"
"No, not you Mario!"

Re: 5000-1 - The 2016/17 Premier League thread
I'd be happy with either Can coming in, allowing Henderson and Gini as the two pressing centre-midfielders or Origi coming in and Firmino dropping deeper. Just nice to have options for once.

Payet picked up an injury in the cameo against Chelsea and Antonio and Bilic have had a falling out over him playing right back.
This is the kind of things that happens and we get relegated.
