Tbh I think I may well just concentrate on other leagues I'm in now as I'm at the point where I really don't want to go through another reboot/change due to placating those that failed to grasp how Transfermarkt works despite playing in leagues in which we've used Transfermarkt for over 6 years.
I understand how it works. I just find it extremely dull to play in this manner.

We need to do something fast, i don't want to reboot until we all get fed up but i want to do something to try and keep as many happy as possible, im at the point now where if we dont do something fast, we are going to lose this league.
What are the main gripes, what do we need to discuss? What can we change, come on lets discuss it.

If someone can come up with an approach going forward that everyone agrees with, then great we can do it, but I'll be honest I'm not holding my breath by recent comments

I have been trying to think of a method but haven't really sat down and properly thought about it tbh, maybe over the weekend ill give it more thought.

I'm thinking we bow to the inevitable. There doesn't seem much motivation to find common ground and keep the league going, so no point flogging a dead horse.

The leagues on ja last for more than 5 seasons and we're struggling to get past the first season A Shame because I much prefer it here but the amount of times we've rebooted is more than how many seasons that lstd's league has been running (going on for 10 seasons without reboots)Afro wrote:I'm thinking we bow to the inevitable. TBF those guys don't have the brains of 606v2 members, so they just continue without realising when something isn't working.
I'd love to continue though, but do feel it needs a tweak to the rules for season 2.
How about the following:
1 - all squads/budgets set to £200m - this will involve either shedding players or adding cash to your budget - seems like a middle ground option.
2. We adopt Hero's tactics suggestion, which puts more emphasis on tactics.
3. We remove lawyers and have releases only, to encourage domestics
4. Look at any other changes people suggest
5 . Find Nando's replacement

I'm ok with those suggestions. Or we could make it something like "Your starting 11 can not cost more than £100m" if we want to balance out the teams.

On that basis I will sign up as I would like a continuing league.
My only concern is that 200m is too high a starting point.
We should do a test game - me vs Afro?

The league's on here always tend towards team building which is why everyone gets bored 2-3 seasons in when that's largely done

I'd just drop all my more expensive players to the bench.
It needs to be whole squads plus budget for me, otherwise it punishes those who have gone for bigger name signings more than those who have gone for squads

Trying to find a middle ground tbh. Miky did a list of values, but there were a few gaps where he didn't know budgets or the squad pages weren't up to date.
Could everyone post their up to date squad value plus budget up? Perhaps we then just take the average, plus give people the chance to swap teams if they want.

Plus go any lower and you might as well just reboot and start a new league on the new rules basis

I'm happy to compromise and work out a figure.
If it was my decision alone I'd do 100m but I accept that people will want higher.

Re: The Lotion League Locker Room
My squad amounts to 260m (and 3.6m in cash).
What I would suggest (if a league happens) is that if it was a 200m cap for the squad that everyone is allowed to cull players they don't want and start their squads up again, so it's a halfway house between a reboot and carrying on, if there's particular players in your squad you're attached to you're able to retain them but you're also able to start anew with the rest (ie I can keep Mbappe & Bernardo Silva).

I think this was along the lines of what I was thinking, but I'm not entirely clear whether you also mean?
1) you get the Hull squad plus those players, or
2) just that you choose which players to cull to get down to £200m (or whatever the cap is set at).
I'm assuming we are talking option 2.

Re: The Lotion League Locker Room
Yes option 2.
Basically I go through my squad, keep the ones I want (as long as it's under the 200m mark) and release the rest.
My budget is then the difference between the value of players I retained and the 200m.

Re: The Lotion League Locker Room
Agree - that was how I was thinking it would work.
The thing I haven't considered is the ability to release more players than you need past the £200m mark (i.e. use it as an opportunity to get rid of additional unwanted players for cash.
IMO you shouldn't be able to as it would be a way of circumventing the change from lawyers to releases.
I think you release players down to £200m, and given it will be difficult to get exactly to £200m, the amount that you have to go over, you get that cash.
And those who are below the £200m, get only cash and can't release anyone

Re: The Lotion League Locker Room
I'd personally be more interested in being able to have a proper spring clean of the squad if going forward it's clamped down on lawyers etc. Think otherwise it's too restrictive and draconian.

Re: The Lotion League Locker Room
Okay. So a complete cull. You keep the players you want as long as you go below, say £200m, and then the balance is made up of cash.
Yeah, I'm not against that idea, although I think some minimum value should be set otherwise you just end up with squads where people only have their purchased players and we are trying to encourage domestics.

Invite them (as long as its not CF or Nick Fury). We aren't exactly blessed with options.
I'll have a go at writing out where I think we are with suggested plans for season 2 and what we need to do

Re: The Lotion League Locker Room
Assuming you're total value was £180m-ish, then yes I think that is the suggestion.
I would prefer to put a minimum value too tbh, just to make sure we don't all just end up with squads full of our own signings that we don't want to let go in domestics

I'd look for season 2 to adopt the injury structure they use in Hodgey's league.
4 injuries for the month, but can trade them domestically to remove the injury. It really does stimulate domestic deals.

I'm open to anything that encourages domestics and anything that creates a balance between players and tactics in deciding results.

A points system should encourage that, I probably though went too heavy on the tactics points though in reflection.

I think the problem with hodgeys league is that squad depth doesn't matter. I'd rather do it the other way and ban transfers after injuries are announced.

Re: The Lotion League Locker Room
Whilst discussions are going on regarding the next season like it's ruddy Brexit I propose something a bit different that should be both fun and frantic.
Minefield Draft
One person is designated the Draft Runner (happy to do that myself)
Via PM everyone sends the Draft Runner 5 footballers that are their minefields. Lots are drawn then to see the order of the draft.
Each person takes it in turn to draft any player available, no budgets needed.
If though that person picks a player that anyone apart from themselves picked as a minefield then they don’t get that player.
The person can pick a player they themselves chose as a minefield (they know where they left the mine!) but if anyone else also chose the player then they still lose out.
Once all people have picked then it reverses in order for the 2nd round etc and people carry on until they have a team, we then simply rank the teams and someone's a winner!

A draft style system might be fun but I don't really see the point in the minefield thing

Re: The Lotion League Locker Room
It's so people think a bit more outside the usual choices, without the mines then first round would be....
Messi
Ronaldo
Suarez
Neymar etc....
With this it's got the added risk and calculations of trying to think outside the box a bit more.

There's no hidden gamble there then. You can still go for a big name as others may not have picked the player.GSC wrote:It doesn't make me think outside the box, it just makes me irritated that I can't make my pick. You'd be better off saying players above x are ineligible or something.
