I agree, but there isn't really much we can take away from it other than that Corbyn didn't memorise the numbers well enough. If you're voting based on how well the leader of a party can remember numbers then yeah it's important, otherwise it's just a distraction. Especially as it means the policy itself isn't coming under criticism.

Exactly, we had no real discussion on the policy because of this - or none reported anyway. The story is that Corbyn couldn't remember his numbers and wanted to check - we don't know where the money is coming from or much more about the policy.
It is actually incredibly poor journalism when you think about it.

It will be dismissed as him just forgetting but it's indicative of the view that he doesn't have much of a clue of the economical situation.

That is how it will be presented, unfortunately the costing and sourcing of the funds for the policy were not scrutinised so we don't actually know.

Some see failing to memorize numbers, I see a basic lack of preparation. He went on that show to promote this policy directly to their listeners, that he wasted time because he didn't know how much it'd cost is his fault, not the interviewer.

Some people didn't vote for Milliband because the poor b@stard couldn't eat a bacon sandwich like a human being.
I don't think we should expect too much of the people.

If you are already predisposed to not liking him. If Teresa May did the same, Corbyn haters wouldn't care.

It's then going to be presumed he doesn't know those things, it's in his interest to explain the costing.

He forgot his figures so what ?....Don't remember you moaning when Hammond was 20 billion out on HS2...
For someone who isn't voting you're very partisan....
Corbyn has to get the kids and the disenchanted to vote..Simple as..
Final polls in MIchigan Sanders v Clinton...............Clinton +21....Clinton +24.....Clinton + 27.....Sanders won...
That is the Election...........Will people vote that don't normally........and keep her majority down.....

Really? When her big selling point is her ability to negotiate with 27 EU leaders on the deal? I'd expect a decent level of public speaking is required for that task.
Easy to prepare when you give no costings at all for your policies.

It's the interviewers job to get this information out of him for their listeners - not take a hatchet to him because he wants to check his figures.

True. I guess SNP supporters prioritise independence over anything else.superflyweight wrote:navyblueshorts wrote:Is there an echo around here? I notice you see fit to ignore the FT and Huffington articles I posted/linked. The answer is there but whichever it is I think people here can't bear to say it.Ent wrote:The SNP vote is baffling as is Craigs logic.
More people voted no in the independence referendum than voted for the SNP in the last westminster election.
The breakdown by council area shows only 4 areas in which the Yes vote was larger than the No vote.
http://www.electionsscotland.info/info/13/referendum/42/scottish_independence_referendum_2014_-_vote_breakdown
If the SNP support was falling because of tactical unionist voting/mobilising the unionist vote they would be losing a lot more seats.
Not everyone votes for the SNP to back independence, they have run on the ticket for a second referendum and have falling support and are likely to lose seats in the election - they've no traction at all to ask for another referendum.
I can guess at what you are implying but you're not correct. There's only one serious party for independence supporters to vote for, so SNP gather vast majority of the independence vote regardless of whether or not those people agree with any of their policies (outside of independence). The votes of those who oppose independence are spread around three other parties. The effects are compounded by the fact that the independence supporters are more motivated and their turnout is generally greater.
At the peak of their popularity, SNP gathered half of the electorate (not half of the population). Very impressive, but not indicative of a majority of support for independence. They won't achieve the same numbers in this election.

If I was Corbyn I'd give Diana Abbott a free holiday for 9 days.....Hopeless.....
Fact is...He has brought the polls closer and most of the media is right wing...So every little mistake will be highlighted....
However he is going positive and she is entirely negative.......He is looking at the people who don't vote because they are all the same and impressionable kids.....
Good luck to him and hope he gets them and it is relatively close.....The vitriol he has been getting is scandalous..

Conversely, you can't ignore the cuts that the disabled have suffered under the Tories? Care to justify them?

All about cementing the left takeover me thinks...

But it's good to see youngsters interested..
