Yea agree with that, I'd have Guildford over JP, Bismark over TpN and Pretorious/Genia is a close call too.

I think genia was pretty Unanimous. In most teams of the week
http://www.planetrugby.com/story/0,25883,16017_6997432,00.html
Pretorious has been good though.
Reds have been the best team and a lot of that is due to Genia's control and how he buys time for cooper.
Withoutt doubt the best SH in the world and bang in form. Getting better and better as the season progresses

Agree with most.
SBW started the season on incredible form but has tailed off a bit with injury.
Guildford and JP as wings for me.

I thought it was close between Genia/Pretorious Matt, 9 tries from a SH also is pretty awsome and he's got not alot behind him from 10-15.
Genia has had a good second half to the S15 without doubt but I don't think he's the standout SH about. It's a pretty close affair really and I'd have him there abouts with a few others.

He does play behind one hell of a pack though. I think pretorius would be good back up for fdp. Saw him
In the running for young player of s15 he is 26 or so!!!

I can't believe he's not involved, I'm tempted to go for him but could disappear next season. He's by far the standout SA scrum half, has everything...PDiv really doesn't like to pick on form. Took 2 huge season from Vermeulen to get a sniff.

Re: Homepage - Page 2
Same for coonie. Greyling is a good lh as well. Needs to work on scrummaging but averages 10 tackles a match.
To be fair distribution of talent on SA is poor. Bulls have stockpiles and SA would be better if they made them go to other sides. Ie Kruger, roussow, flip, matfield, bakkies
Same with stormers taken de jongh most of season to win the 12 spot from jdv. Been there best player last few games but better if
Both were at separate clubs

ANyone watch the Eng u20s today? Just finished watching it on Sky+ - thought they put in another good performance, was a brutal game. Thought Ford put in another great performance.
Mat - what do you think of Mills, your centre - he looked good when he came on. Where are you finding all of these backs from at the moment?! Got some great youngsters coming through!

Chris its all about hartpury Academy and St Peters School. They get lads into my old school ST.Peters if they are too young for Hartpury and then get them to HArtpury.
It means there are youngsters being treated like professionals from age 15 in that they train 4 times a wek. play a game and are taught by the best coaches.
Its not really developing tight 5 forwards which is the worry though.

Re: Homepage - Page 2
going to stick up for phillips here. He may be out of form but then he has played with a dire backrow for ages and this means he gets terrible ball.
Maybe the move to france will help him. His service was A1 on the Lions tour and he was fantastic.
Also he does occupy the oppositions backrow.
Would rather have phillips than Cussiter, TOL, Stringer, Lawson, etc

Re: Homepage - Page 2
I wouldn't....I like a SH to be able to distribute and not take the ball on himself every time. Wales had a very strong backrow last 6N and he was still awful. 2009 form means nothing in 2011 for me.

I would say that his distribution is better than any of those listed above. His service during the Lions tour was better than any other that went on that tour.

What are people going for in the foreigns???
Carter will be back up the minute horne is fit driver so may just be bidding for a tahs bench player.
I quite fancy going for Ashley Johnson although may go for the montpelier tight head. Absolute beast.
Loved seeing him destroy the Toulouse scrum in the Top 14 final. Dont see many do that

I like the Tahs too Driver, just both teams trying to force the game too much, offloading when it's not on and lots of turnovers and individual errors.
Was also a blatant forward pass, at least 2 metres forward from Rokocoko, in the build up to the Blues try.
Not a classic by any stretch of the imagination.

Aus S15 player of the season.....
Why for me? I like and rate Genia mate just don't think he's the standout scrum half about. I'd throw others in the mix like Parra, Du Preez and maybe Pretorious.

Guys
With regards to predicting from now on during the rest of the off season i'd appreciate it if we could all add a bit of detail to when we predict.
People are directly asking for it so i think the least we could do is give a bit of detail.
I'm going to use a comparison of 3 different managers from last weeks predictions as examples to what is helpful and what isn't
Great help : SJE
Little help but could use more detail
Could just add a bit to get to 207s detail
I'm not moaning at you lads it's just that detail in predictions especially in this tournament helps managers know where to strengthen and what is working for them.
Don't make me send Johnny round!

Front row to Saints for me here. Hayman maybe not had the best of seasons but the same can be said for Perugini. Mears at hook isn't the strongest scrummager. Good balance to the Saints 2nd row and Maestri for Bath is a good talent. Bath edge the backrow for me although Messam has really come on this year. Halfbacks to Bath. Hodgson although not the strongest defender is better then given credit for and is a fantastic attacking 10. Been better then Flood through the aviva this year. Beaxuis a good 10 but very incosistent maybe Toulouse will knock that out of him. Centres to Bath for me. Mason hasnt really got a rating yet to be honest for me. Back 3s to Bath. Good close match here but Bath looking stronger overall.
Exeter 23 18 Quins
Hard day at the scrum for the Quins front row in this one. 2nd row goes to Quins though with a classy combination although Donnelly is lacking some form. Backrow battle to Chiefs for me. They have a bit more at 6 and 8 whle Holah is more of a 7 then Bonnaire. Halfbacks to Quins for me. Im a fan of Priestland. Should really make the world cup squad for Wales and should be in consideration for the fullback shirt with Byrnes lack of form! Both sides with a good set of backs and not really much to choose between them. Chiefs take this one with a good strong performance from the pack
Irish 22 18 Newcastle
Front row battle to Irish here for me. Lindsay full of potential but now 3rd choice at Wasps with Thommo signed up. Mitchell a potential welsh TH but not had alot of gametime at Ospreys. COuld be well rated at Exeter this year though. 2nd row to Irish. Lack of grunt in Falcons selection with Kruger not really an enforcer style lock and Parling needs gametime to be rated again. Backrow to Newcastle. Big fan of Robshaw would prefer to see him in the english backrow over Haskell, Woods etc. Fourie stronger at 7 but Vermulen the stronger 8 . In some good form while Rush has been fairly quiet. Halfbacks even. In the backs theres a lack of form for Irish particularly in midfield. Some top form for Newcastle in the back 3. Ben Smith has been preety damn good this year. Good game here and hard to call. Falcons struggling at scrum time and in the tight without an enforcer. Fourie is crucial for me in this one. He will be all over the place at the breakdown with a good tight 5 around him and will see Newcastle struggle.
Little help but could use more detail
InTheFastLane wrote:Sarries 27-23 Sale
Better backs and forwards from Sarries.
Exeter 19-16Quins
Forwards good from Exeter, not much in backs
Irish 17-18 Falcons
Newcastle backs get them the win
Could just add a bit to get to 207s detail

As you know Matt, McAlsiter has a great defence. Was a cracking fend on him though by Carter, he offers a lot more in attack than Horne who's a club player at best, think Horne might struggle to get back in the side.
Great performances from McAlister & Payne, some pure magic touches.
Tahs missed their big guns TpN, Barnes, Mitchell, Palu would have made a huge difference.

Be good to have him back, I really like Ferris. Not sure his muscle mass was an issue though, more no cartilage left in his knee.
Got to get Ferris/SOB/Heaslip starting a few games though at least, amazing backrow that.

That's a backrow that challenges the All Blacks! Think the Irish rely far too heavily on their backrow, not a big fan of their front five. O'Driscoll, Sexton and Bowe are amongst the best backs in Europe - seem to be a real bogey team for England at the moment too.

They're front 5 has iproved massivley Chris and with POC back in form they can challenge the best, they totally out muscled England. If they can get that backrow out and fire they are a real outside shot of a semi/final spot in my opinion.
