Think it will be a cracking final next week, two best teams in the competition facing off against each other.
And I am 100% behind Haye tonight, at least he is livening up the heavyweight division, it has been as dull as dishwater for the past 15 years.

I do think the Klitchko's have as good as ruined the heavyweight division. Not fighting each other stalled things a bit. I think Haye is great entertainment value.

Wow - Wasps have just confirmed that James Haskell has rejoined the club on a 3 year deal. From no hopers we have suddenly become a very good team again! Dont know where the money has gone but that squad are now title challengers...bring on the new season!

Great signing Chris, Wasps should be right up there next season. Wentzel will be massive for you too, you've finally got a lineout target! What'll be your best lineup then?

Re: Homepage - Page 2
just saw that - he's doing a bit of a tour isn't he! Not a bad thing as he would miss so much rugby with the WC and 6Nations! Think our best lineup is going to be something along the lines of.
1. Payne
2. Thompson (Webber from bench)
3. Taulofo (or the new French signing)
4. Shaw/Filipo
5. Wentzel
6. Worsley/Launchbury
7. Rees
8. Poff
9. Simpson
10. Robinson
11. Varndell
12. Flutey
13. Waldouck
14. Haughton
15. Wallace - good youngster.
Isnt a bad team - I think the reason they havent gone for a back three signing is that they have a lot of confidence in Wade and Wallace, with Elliot Daly also being able to play there. We've got some cracking youngsters at Wasps this season.

Not a bad team, props still arnt great but this Arg signing should sure you up. Don't think I've seen much of Poff, backrow could be a weakness against the better sides.

i still think that back line isnt the best. simpsno/robinson I like but its a very lightweight and defensivly frail backline. no-one that can be used as a crash ball option.
personally id prefer this back line
9 hodgson
10 bowden
11 tagicakibau
12 hape
13 ansbro
14 ojo
15 armitage

backline has never been our problem really, always score tries. its the forwards that we struggle with. if corbs, paice, garvey can stay fit then that will be a big help. we still need a couple more backrowers as we have no depth in that area.

Sale's pack finally seems to have some depth.
1. Andrew Sheridan/Ali Dickinson/Lee Imiolek
2. Joe Ward/Neil Briggs/Marc Jones
3. Tony Buckley/Henry Thomas/Vadim Cobilas
4. Wame Lewaravu/Ostrikov
5. Kearnan Myall/James Gaskell/Frazer McKenzie
6. Richie Vernon/James Collins
7. Hendri Fourie/David Seymour/Mark Easter
8. Andy Powell
9. Dwayne Peel/Scott Mathie/Will Cliff
10. New Signing/Rob Miller
11. Mark Cueto/Charlie Amesbury
12. Sam Tuitupou/Ces Lavea/Kyle Tonetti
13. Luther Burrell/New Signing
14. Tom Brady/Will Addison
15. Nick Macleod/new Signing
Obviously need this new mystery 10 to be someone decent and if the other signings are also up to scratch then we can be competitive and maybe look towards Heiniken Cup qualification through the league, especially if we can play well during the WC

It will be close. last season you were playing well against Saints, leicester etc and still losing as they were better sides. When you played Sale and Leeds the performance almost seem to drop for some reason. If you'd played like you did against Saints when you drew against us you'd have won with a BP.
Anyone want to loan me a centre for the World Cup?

All average arry. Braid decent steggman workman like.Watching super 15 missed yesterday.
Cooper having great game but kicking terrible. He is 43% from right hand side. Can't do that as a ten

Re: Homepage - Page 2
That's the thing at the moment Matt is that Cooper can afford to the way he is playing.
With Oz they have James O'Connor to kick and if he's injured then they'd make room for Giteau. If Cooper was injured then there would be a bigger issue as there aren't any other goal kickers in the side.

You can never afford a kicker as bad as cooper if you have no one else to kick. People can afford to give away penalties and not get punished.
I still think cooper is another Carlos Spencer and am waiting to be converted

Re: Homepage - Page 2
You need a decent kicker in your side at the top level as Mat says, otherwise teams can take the urine and give away penalties galore knowing that you can't punish them.
Doesn't have to be your 10 though, it's just that generally it is which means it gets highlighted if a top 10 isn't a great kicker.
Aus have JOC, Giteau, Barnes and Beale who could all kick for them, so Cooper's erratic form with the boot shouldn't be a problem for them, and is more than made up for by the fact that he is creating chance after chance for his teams backs to finish at the moment.

Re: Homepage - Page 2
Agree pete but none of those listed are good kickers. Aussies will not win wc without kicker. Cooper great to watch but reckon sbw or another big 12 could expose. With cooper cips carlos Spencer the argument is always is their obvious talent worth more points than they give away. Cooper much better kicker out of hand than the others listed. Rock and Payne playing well

Re: Homepage - Page 2
I think for Coopers sake he needs to sort his kicking out. If for the Reds he has a blip in form for 6 or so matches he'll cost them big as he hasn't got his boot to fall back on.
You can kinda forgive his defending I think to an extent but I'd love to see him become a 80% kicker.
Roko has had a v good season, hold your judgement on Payne Matt, has 10 mins from hell.

For sure Coopers defence ain't great, but at least I see him trying to make tackles which is a positive.
Unlike his opposite number this weekend Stephen Brett who would struggle tackling my 4 year old. His attempt to stop Rod Davies for the third try was nothing short of an embarrasment!

Re: Homepage - Page 2
One thing worth pointing out is that The Reds don't have a kicking coach which is very odd especially as he does have issues with his goal kicking.
Wonder if Rod Davies might get a call to the Oz squad on the wing. Assuming that they take either JOC or AAC primarily as a centre they will only have Ioane, Turner and JOC or AAC with the likes of Mitchell, Hynes, Morahan and others all injured.

Re: Homepage - Page 2
It will be interesting to see what the Aus backline is come the World Cup.
Barring injury, Genia and Cooper are a given at 9 and 10, likewise Beale at 15. Due to the versatility of a lot of players there are so many permutations for the rest of the backline, even without the large number of layers who are missing through injury.

I wouldn't say it was laughable. It's pretty steady, I wouldn't say top Int level though.
I was watching round 12 Super 15 I think the other night and JOC was top points scorer. I'm seen him have one or two stinkers with the boot tho.

That's my point pooly no decent technique means he is Inconsistent. Cooper had zero kicking technique and that's why every kick looks different. Same as golf where you need a consistent swing

Quick question.
Which player do we think will be the World cup player of the tournament ? and who will breakthrough to be world class??
I reckon player of the tournament will be Jaque Fourie and the breakthrough will be Sam Warburton

I think it's a developing technique Matt. I find it a bit of a joke they put so much pressure on a 20yo, I can see him bring burnt out by 25. 25 caps and Aus main kicker at 20yo is crazy.

Some interesting teams named by people this week, one side has about 15 players in the 23 who are 95% or more likely to o to the World Cup.
Not sure what the manager of that side is going to learn about how his squad will go during the first 2/3 months of the season.
Each to their own anyway.
Really can't decide on my last foreign, torn between 2 and 9. Anyone want to advise me on where I have a bigger weakness of those two positions?

I think maybe hooker for you as well stnick.
I am happy with my 9's for the season as a whole, but will lose 2 for the WC and have to use Lightfoot-Brown on the bench which I suspect I will get crucified for, as although he is a very talented young guy he has zero AP experience so far.
