If you're up for some kind of swap deal I'd buy some of them for equivalently priced players?

Thanks Miky.
I back your decision on your own game Miky. It’s a tricky one, but you’re the league runner and it’s your call. I don’t think the call was an unfair one.

200 word tactics (only including subs instructions and written instructions)
And I think it’s a fair argument that titles are not instructions but to make it easier to read. So we are only over by virtue of selflessly thinking of the voters

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
If we keep increasing the word count, people keep pushing it and want it increased as always. We can't have pages and pages of tactics each week.

Make it less Miky. 5 for attack, 5 for defence
Score more goals than them.
keep ball away from goal

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
Well played Bam. I didn't think you'd play three at the back and as I said on PM, thought you would get the win.
Still not really sure where I'm going with my team. I presumed I'd need a CB but perhaps it's elsewhere I need to strengthen.

Where do people think I need to improve?
Akinfeev
Valencia Jones Kompany Caricol
Sanson Casemiro
Vazquez Payet Rashford
Dzeko
Possibly Young, Falcao, Lingard in the side.

It is bang on 200. Just checked again
Morning, I don't really think Olly should lose the wins. I didn't think at any point they were excessive otherwise I would have checked the word count.
I know people like to write tactics in their own way- some do attack and defence whereas others like me have tactics for individual players. What I would suggest for season 2 is we agree on a set format rather than word count......such as two sentences or 20 words per player.
I'm a bit knackered as went to see Queen last night and didn't get home until 1am so apologies if this idea is BS

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
Do think we need a tightening on word count, what is and isn't included. For me titles such as Defence/Game Plan etc have been and so I've added them to my total when making the tactics, others haven't and that's no fault of theirs but a clarification irons that out.
And what happens if someone is over, by a couple of words, 10, 20, 129 etc?

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
I just think I should be punished for being over for all the weeks I've been over, not just this week tbh. Rules a rule - I genuinely didn't realise I was going over by so much cos I don't do them in word or whatever, but I have been it seems which isn't fair to my opponents and having those extra words could've influenced results

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
I'm one of those that'd get a default win from that Olly and personally I don't want it reversed.
It's been noticed now and addressed but don't think we should start backdating as that sets a dangerous precedent, next someone will notice a signing that wasn't confirmed in Week 1 etc, do we then scrub all results that involve that player, what if that player moved to another club during the period and that was confirmed but the original wasn't, does the new owner then also fall foul of the error?
A line has been drawn in the sand and don't think we then need to start going back with a tooth-comb as we'll end up pulling the league apart.

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
I get that being over the limit is wrong, but could we just add an extra injury or two or something? Or no lawyers?
I don't think it should be an auto-loss this week or any other week.

The problem with that idea Trebs is that it will help the opponent in the next match and not the opponent in the match the rule was broken.

Joking aside, I don't think the game should just be invalid because he didn't put tactics in within the limit. Seems extremely harsh to me

morning lads.....I don't generally check word counts I kinda go on the basis that they're more or less on the limit, it was just that Olly's felt much more "meaty" than Miky's.
Don't think we need to backdate losses whats done is done...but I do think we should increase the limit for season 2 for 500

If I have to read through 500 word tactics I'm just looking at starting 11s and voting based on that .. don't have the attention span for that

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
Probably why we should return to the idea of getting fifa to do it.
We have never tried this way before I presume? It's just I have been doing these leagues for 5 seasons now and the whole issue of length of tactics always appears.

This was the link to the FIFA section we made last time, I'd look in particular towards the tactics part as I'd templated every possible formation option for ease of use for everyone:

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
I really liked the FIFA idea and was disappointed it didn't take off
Definitely wouldn't mind going back to that
Equally, I have no problem with the current approach, and think everyone has mostly stuck reasonably to the rules
Olly is the exception, and given he has 20% more fingers and toes than everyone else, its only fair to give him a pass on a slightly higher word count

It's improved tbh from what it was, back when we initially trialled it Fifa didn't have the option if you had 2 CPUs to skip intros which used to take up ages every game, it does allow it now so the streaming of games should be quicker.
I won't lie and say it's not time consuming but I didn't mind doing the legwork on it.

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
can you sim the games? like you can on career mode?
so would you create a tournament with all the managers teams and let them do the fixtures etc
lot for you to do though with the amount of transfers etc

How about if it was 2 leagues of 4 or 6 with two league runners? Top 2 in each have semi finals and finals. 2 league runners would lessen the burden then a one big league?

Re: Challenge League Homepage III
Could sim the games entirely yeah, previously when trialled we just had the CPU play itself and I streamed it on Twitch so people involved in the game could watch their team.
The initial rush of transfers is the main ballache, after that it's just ensuring that before matchday any transfers that week are updated.
People then use the templates provided by FIFA for individual player instructions as well as overall team strategy and formation.
