This is quite interesting in a "Tino" kind of way, he would've liked this if he wasn't dead.

You’d need a photo of a couple of old dears frolicking in their bloomers to arouse Tino from the dead.

Maybe I should reset his password, log on as him, and we can all pretend he's returned. Of course, I'd need to dumb it down a bit to be believable.

Two orange beetles copulating on a leaf and the male suffering from infertility which he then passes on to his psychotic son. Julius is right, surely a wet dream for Tino.

I used to enjoy winding people up on the Daily Mail site, once had a comment on how best to kill meerkats with a crossbow removed due to the offence it caused. They used to have articles with photos on everyday nature occurences like, for example, a lion killing a wildebeest as though it was news. Post a comment along the lines of ‘lol, I hate wildebeest’ and watch the threats and hatred pour in.

It amuses me to think that there are people on there using and creating portmanteaus and then sitting back and laughing and congratulating themselves on how clever they are, and how everyone else is an idiot.

Sexton.

Not much Rick.

Except that I got 'microstung' by a wasp today. As I walked past my lavender plants it flew right at my face so I got my fist in between and connected with it. It was more like a table tennis bat action on my part than a full fist. Anyway, in that microsecond of contact it managed to leave 3 little marks just below the finger nail on my index finger.

Pain scale: 4/10 only. Aggressive little bugger!

It wasn't that big. About 15-20mm long with yellow & black banding.

I got stung by a bee a few weeks back. My technique of flicking them out of the pool was slightly off. That hurt more.

Also killed 3 juicy redbacks in the last month or so. Think I found the source. The males are tiny (like baby spiders... so small) so I gave them a blast from the can. Pretty sure I wiped them all out... well that colony at least. It's due to the humidity this spring apparently.

There is a nest near my place, as there are a lot of dead wasps around in the corridors and on the window sills, rarely see a live one, but lots of dead ones.

As long as it stays that way we should be gravy.

Must be less of them as you head into winter.

Just researched it. Think my one was an Asian Paper Wasp. Maybe not 15mm... probably 8-10mm long.

I reckon it somehow dragged its sting over my finger as I thwacked it. There are equally spaced tiny puncture marks caused by a section of barbs grazing over my skin - I would assume. Like an Aussie cricketer currently... I edged it rather than middled it.

Can still feel it. A bit itchy. Just glad it didn't get at my face and deliver a few proper stings. That would have hurt considerably more.

Congratulations, Rick. Quite a day when you get a fist and a like from Jeff.

I think that two days of arthropod/anthropod posting without a response is conclusive evidence that Tino is dead. It's good to have closure so that we can get on with things.

Nasty bickering going on between a Kiwi and an Irish poster on the rugby boards. Going on for days, weeks... months. Mildly entertaining and cringe-worthy at the same time. Poor old George Carlin had to lock it down. Biltong had a good spray at Collapse too. Lots of fracking going on.

Brings back memories of the Irwin incident. First heard it from our courier at work who was under the impression that Steve Irwin was skydiving off the Great Barrier Reef and landed on a stingray. He clapped his hands together to emphasise the sound of a skydiver landing on a stingray as well.
