Yeah... a truly fearsome batsman.
He played for the local team here last summer. I had to fetch the ball from the front garden and throw it back several times.

I used to be a bit like that, endangering the neighbours' gardens, but I was playing tennis.

Same here. We once flattened Mrs Vinehall's garden in an afternoon (it was more wildflower garden than manicured garden beds) then went across the road and ripped up the jungle, built dams on the creek (then Dambuster'd them) and gave The Hermit a hard time. We were a real handful.
Found lots of old tennis balls in the undergrowth. John Newcombe had a shop up the road. I can still see his beaming mo when we used to walk through the door... "G'day kids... whatta ya'afta? Can of balls?" He reminded me of Dennis Lillee for some reason.

Morning Ricko.
God I'm knackered... I stayed up until 4am watching the cricket.
How's things? Fine morning so far?
(I'll check for a reply in about 3 hours... need a cat nap right now)

Bangladesh didn't embarrass themselves, but you were too strong.
All good here, pretty sunny at the moment.

17 Until thread split, are we waiting for Jules? Going for it? Or leaving it to get there organically?

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Think we just keep going in our usual organic way... and then Jules chimes in when required.
The actual thread split could be days (or even half a week or more) after we've reached 1000 posts.

Fetched my daughter back from Nottm Uni on Saturday, then went back on Sunday to get the rest of her stuff. Back in my day I had a suitcase and a rucksack and took the effin train!

That was probably more convenient than trying to find one of those dudes with the flags to walk in front of the car to be fair, Jules.

Reminds me of the story about the young Kerry Packer. He was sent down to Melbourne by his father, Frank... for a holiday I believe. Came back home and soon discovered he'd left his tennis racket down there. So old Packer Snr clipped him over the ears and sent him back down by train to fetch it... then return again by train. It took a few days for the round trip. No wonder Kerry didn't suffer fools...

Sorry Galts... I was trying to avoid the 987th post... whilst watching the cricket. Feel safer now.
