Took the Scots out to Watson's Bay for a beer (at 11am) and then dropped them off at Bondi Beach. Saved them about an hour avoiding public transport and good therapy for me as well... playing the tour guide. Good deed done for the day.

The guy got cooked on the beach today. Refused to apply any sunscreen. Fell asleep on his back... looks painful.

Scottish people only come in two colour options. Pale blue or fire engine red.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
I am losing my voice, and, in bad timing, I also had to phone my parents, which means they now both think that:
A) I am incapable of eating correctly
B) I am clearly not sleeping correctly
C) Therefore I have a combination of scurvy, AIDS, and possibly some kind of bird flu.
When in fact it is just a minor cold that happened to settle on my throat and is causing no discomfort whatsoever.

My sympathies. We regularly Skype Galtova's parents and get continual rebukes from her mother about what disgraceful parents we are. The fact our 2-year-old isn't toilet-trained has brought such shame upon her that she can't bring herself to show photos of him to her friends.

I have not chosen to breed, but the dish in the sink when my mum rocks up clearly indicates I am happy to live in some kind of slum housing.
I would hate to have the criticism of my crotch goblins also.

No point in rushing toilet training Galted. Eveyone learns in their own good time - one of my mates shat himself a couple of years ago when we were in Berlin.
He learned from it and to my knowledge hasn't done it since. Good boy.

Good to hear.
Working from home so haven't ventured out to test the weather - prretty much how I intend to spend the weekend. Looks bright though so I'm sure I'll be roped into at least one walk in the park.

That's taking culture to a new level.
Don't forget to give a standing ovation every time someone cries and mentions 'people of colour' in their speech.

Morning Rick. How was the weekend? I see Newcastle won.
Yes, it's all calm here right now but tomorrow the winds will pick up and it'll be 37° C here.
Should be fine where I am (no large clusters of trees) but I'm a little worried about Mum. She's right next to a forest but there's no history of fires (from memory) at that particular spot.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Bit surreal here.
It was a beautiful blue sky day today... not too hot... with no sense of anything out of the ordinary happening or about to happen.
However the media keep building it up almost as if they want the catastrophe to happen. The problem is it's all so unpredictable.
I've just soaked the lawns for 20-30 minutes under the cover of darkness. It was very parched indeed. Part of it was crunchy under foot this afternoon.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
It’s very odd for me to deal with. Think Wollongong is down at threat level “catastrophic”, but I’m in the city so safe. My girlfriend works in Campbeltown and appears to be in one of the few schools remaining open. I can imagine the worst that’ll happen for her is a huge diversion on the way home.
The old house, which is being sold, is close to bush and so is her Dad’s new place down Vincentia, but should suspect both will be fine (especially as the old house is empty - would slightly ruin Thursday’s open house though).

There did end up being a fire near the old house, and the sky here was a brown/orange most of the day, but no real damage and everything ok.
Bizarre to see the same Aussies on my Facebook who took the piss out of Greta Thunberg and those marches now worried about the state of the wildlife and worsening of bushfires. Some real tirds
