Hey, hang on a minute. A key part of the pre-contract signing talks was that my role was to be an occasional impact sub. A bit like Peter Crouch. Or even Peter Withe for my generation. The likes of you, Jules and PJ have to be the legs and engine room of this team - Jack Grealish or, as I prefer, Gordon Cowans. Anyway, time now for my early morning nap.

Looking at some other threads and the lack of new comments... this place is slowing down everywhere.

Sensational performance from Guildford, write him off at your peril. Such a pity there were so few to witness it.

I witnessed it. We have the internet in the afterlife. Midget ghost porn is a particular favourite of mine.
It was a sensational performance from a sensational man. I wish Guildford was my grandfather to replace the dead ones I already have.

I don't think I've watched any since 1917 (the film, not the date).
I'll try and watch one over the weekend and breathe some f*cking life into the place.

The numbers may not be that large if Dido Harding is distributing the entry tickets.

Where does the North start, Galted?
Is it a line across England from approximately Liverpool to Hull (including Sheffield) or further up a bit? Just curious.

Yes, I realise Stoke is more in the middle... that's where you're from, right Tino?
I always think the North is further up from Manchester. More like a Preston-Bradford-Leeds-Hull line. But surely places like Huddersfield and Doncaster are close to, if not part of the North?

How f*cking dare you, PJ. I am not from Stoke, although I did go to a strip club there where a lady placed a ciggie in her nether regions. This was back in the day you could smoke indoors. Still not sure why she did it but it was a great spectacle.
I'm from Cheshire. I am basically from the same place as our beloved and recently deceased Rick. In fact, we have both frequented a few of the same pubs and clubs at different times. That is why I am the perfect dead person to replace DeadRick.

Oh that's right... the Floatel. I saw some recent photos of it in a very run-down condition. It needs to be reborn... bigger and better!
It should be part of Boris' massive infrastructure spend.

Cheers, Tino, are you able to communicate with other dead people or does that come with time? Would be nice if you could drop in on Rick's new haunting-place and make him feel welcome, I'm sure he must be wondering why no-one's paying him any attention. A bit like me on the rugby boards.

It's a bit like that scene in Ghost where the dead dudes are walking on the subway. Rick is the newly deceased Patrick Swayze character and I am the grizzled old tramp ghost who flicks the chaps newspaper around. So although I maybe able to talk to Rick, whether he can talk back is uncertain.
PJ, the Floatel in Northwich is a modern day stable. So Rick is basically Jesus. Although Northwich is sadly lacking in wise men, it does have a lot of single mothers so we could be on to something here.
I wasn't born there, I am from Runcorn which Rick will confirm is way classier than Northwich.

Of course, the true north really begins in Edinburgh.
Beyond that line of latitude is a cold and barren place populated by a people forgotten by time and evolution. It's why Rick and I both walked away with sparkling degrees from the University of Dundee. They gave you a merit for not smacking your head off the desk more than once in any lecture.

Yes, a bit of bad luck really but the company hired for the hotel security should be made responsible and ensure no shenanigans go on. It's always a risk when someone sub-contracts this type of work out to a less competent outfit and doesn't keep an eye on things. I'm glad you're not in one of the affected postcodes, alfie.
Re: What this thread is about - Whatever you want; with any vague references to culture, daily observations, etc. No holds barred.
The "fist" thing came about when someone left the "r" out of "first". It was also maybe a faint reference to the boxing posters who used to inhabit this place. Or something else perhaps? Anyway, vagueness and cryptic comments are also highly regarded on here.
The other running theme is to try and question the absence of certain posters who may or may not have departed (imaginary or in reality) and therefore we are quite sensitive when a real famous person dies - it makes us question whether someone on here (under the guise of anonymity of course)... was actually that person.
To add to the confusion; reference is also made about previous members who have seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth:
SERIAL_DAVE667:
A dark and self-confessed violent Northerner who preyed on unfortunate people and claimed to be a modern day Jack the Ripper type. He disappeared without a trace from this site... and many of us have speculated that something backfired on one of his deadly encounters. Or that he was caught and is now serving a very long time without access to the internet. Ironically, he always seemed quite 'normal' and 'friendly' when chatting with us on here.
Rowley:
A self-proclaimed boxing expert and a world authority on JFK assassination theories. Partial to a "Radox bath" and he told us there were candles placed around the bath... but he said "his wife left them there." Many things were all "beneath" him apparently and made him easily annoyed. Rick has discovered that he is a Twiiter-star with a sizeable following but is too scared to re-establish contact with him or most likely: simply ignored by him. He has a tattoo of the Aston Villa crest on one of his legs... I'm not sure which one... but it's on the fatty part of the calf. It looks blurred to me.
seanmichaels:
Still a virgin but he tried to impress us with his sexual exploits... such as "eating chips of some bird's back whilst doing the business". He also boasted about projecting his private part ("his hampton") on a castle wall using a suitably located searchlight - which was focused on said wall. He's a doppelgänger for Jürgen Klopp but works as a green-keeper on the south coast somewhere... Hampshire or West Sussex I think? He sometimes reappears on here with some profound remark... or just to touch base.
ShahenshahG:
A stereotypical fundamentalist Islamic terrorist who knows a bit about high explosives, guerrilla warfare tactics and distribution of small arms. Currently working as a security detail at a warehouse in an undisclosed location in the vicinity of Luton. A polygamist (but he only tells us about one wife) with over 56 children. Grew up on the foothills of the Himalayas in Pakistan tending his family's herd of goats. His goal in life is to "visit Amsterdam" one day soon.
Union Cane:
superflyweight's half-brother (no, I just made that up) Your typical Scotsman. Decent chap, from memory, with a dry sense of humour. Simply disappeared one day and none of us saw it coming. One of those complete mysteries I guess?
kingraf:
You and I know raf well from the cricket boards, alfie. However, on here he made the fatal mistake of admitting to owning a jet ski (one with orange stripes) and to have played a match of "action netball" with some athletic women... not once; but on a few occasions. Personally, I believe he was harshly treated by some members on here but I am in no way condoning that sort of behaviour... which we all agree is totally unacceptable.
Adam:
Founder of this site. So anything wrong about not only this site but the world in general - is his fault. I always considered him to be a human incarnation of a heavy boxing bag. He was smart enough to get out of here and fling it all to RDW... who is now living in total misery here after making the wise decision to immigrate to the formal penal colony. He never comes on this thread or reads anything we write however, so you can feel completely safe.
Might have missed a couple. No doubt others will fill in some gaps or correct my summary above.
