Always was going to be a tough challenge for England today but the decisions against England are consistently harsh

Hi Duty, he lost control of the ball in a forward direction, that it bounced off his leg and went backwards is neither here nor there. Loss of control. knock on and scrum England.

That has to be given as knock-on I’m sorry. There is no way you should give that as a try. Ref is 60:40 in Wales’ favour so far, but England don’t help themselves by being offside for most of the game.

Good try. That's very well worked by England.
The poor penalties at the start aside England have been showing signs of their old self.

When a player loses possession of the ball and it goes forward, or when a player hits the ball forward with the hand or arm, or when the ball hits the hand or arm and goes forward, and the ball touches the ground or another player before the original player can catch it.

Despite being poor, we should really be 11-3 up (or at worst 11-10).

Both sides have been offside a lot to be honest.mikey_dragon wrote:That has to be given as knock-on I’m sorry. There is no way you should give that as a try. Ref is 60:40 in Wales’ favour so far, but England don’t help themselves by being offside for most of the game.
The England and Wales defensive systems are interestingly similar as both were built originally on a very aggressive blitz (Edwards and Gustard) but under new coaches have become more passive out wide whilst still blitzing on the fringes. For both sides defence those forwards blitzing around the fringes are getting away with being a yard or two offside.

This game is a joke.
It is all about one man. The referee. No sympathy with the players at all.

England have looked ok when they've attacked ball in hand. Problem has been Wales have kept us camped in our own half for most of the game so far. Got to get some territory and turn up the pressure. Wales have too much talent to keep giving them much opportunity.

Ah here now, that was absolutely mental. The officiating has been extremely poor, no other way to put it.
If the ref lets it go, it may develop into a decent game.

Yeah disappointing he passed such a simple intercept but he was the one that took us from scrum on halfway to their 22. Also if the player crashes it in and England go quickly round the corner there's loads of numbers and a walk in.

When time was running out in the half he still kicked possession away. Was lucky to tackle the ball out of the wing's hand going to the line, which was called back for the knock on. But why kick possession away, OK it was a garryowen, as time runs out in the half and behind. it's this little stuff which drive me bananas.GeordieFalcon wrote:doctor_grey wrote:Ford........is.......an........idiot

Hi Duty, he lost control of the ball in a forward direction, that it bounced off his leg and went backwards is neither here nor there. Loss of control. knock on and scrum England.
It absolutely is here and there. You need to knock the ball on to the floor or into an opposing player for a knock-on. You can't knock it on by spilling the ball into yourself. He never loses possession until it cannons off his leg backwards (no offence committed), and then it's picked up by a team-mate and scored.
Quite basic and absolutely the right call. Commentators are supposed to be informed individuals so they can educate the audience watching about the game, though they seldom are (similar commentator complaint with West Brom/Brighton earlier).

England look more dangerous but Wales with the slender lead. God know's how the second-half will go.
On the first try, seems totally fine. England should have been more switched on. Why did they bring the water carriers on? Wales hadn't called the shot at posts and should have been wary of that.
Second try. Knock on all day

The same thing happened a few years ago with Ireland playing Sth Africa. The ref did not give Sth Africa time to set. It was wrong then and it is wrong now.
The second try was clearly a loss of control and a knock on.

I stand by what I said earlier. Gauzere is having a shocker. Neither of the 2 Welsh tries should have counted.
England haven't been great but they have improved no thanks to Gauzere's decisions.

Wales have got the rub of the green with that 2nd try especially, but really the ref has been very hard on both sides. So the game has no momentum.
Its a shame because both teams look to want to do something with the ball when they get the chance

If players are picking up bans for making a split second mistakes in the heat of the moment then Officials have to be banned for lying and getting it totally wrong.

You might actually want to read the laws, the only person who can gather the ball is LRZ before it touches the ground. The moment he loses control forward it hitting the ground is irrelevant.

Amazes me how many people don't know what a knock-on is, including ex-pros. A knock-on is when a player drops/spills the ball forward and it makes contact with the ground or an opposing player. A juggled catch by a receiving player is perfectly ok for this very reason.
