Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
I've got a ten year old Newberry Uzi that I use for T20 these days. An absolute unit of a bat. Slightly longer handle and shorter blade than a traditional SH bat without going to the extremes of the Mongoose bats that Matty Hayden endorsed which got banned because they were changing the shape of the ball.
Newberry stopped making them few years back but they have such good customer service that they've replaced the handle twice whilst only charging me postage to get it down to their workshop and back. I'll be little bit heart broken when it finally breaks for good. Not a forgiving bat if you miss the middle but when it goes boy does it go!

I always found that a heavy bat slowed down my stroll to the wicket and back to the pavilion.

On its own its tolerable but with Cheese and Onion Walkers its Frak mustardking_carlos wrote:Orange chocolate as a whole is pish but the rip offs of Terry's do tend to be even worse than Terry's. They've successfully cornered a market that should never have existed.
Tesco have started doing an orange infused dark chocolate. The worst of both worlds right there.

An old skipper I had was an Aussie bloke that was a gun bowler but absolute rabbit with the bat. He batted with about a 25 year old plank of wood that weighed nothing at all. A junior asked him why he didn't get a new bat and he said, "why make my kit bag heavier with something else that's going to miss the ball by a foot".

Our overseas player is a shocker with the bat.
Indian chap. Spin bowler (surprisingly*) and all round sh*t fielder (surprisingly*). We may as well bat with 10 men. Utter sh*te. Runs like his legs have been chopped off. Good job he turns it sideways or he would be a complete waste of space.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
I bought a CA Style bat from the defective pile in the factory in pakistan for around 39p it lasted me about 7 years until the face fell off. Every other forward defensive stroke accidently went for four when it hit the middle. My only regret was that I didn't trade it with a guy who wanted it 4 matches before it died. He offered a hefty Gray Nichols bat with the two chevrons cut out of the back to reduce its weight.king_carlos wrote:I've got a ten year old Newberry Uzi that I use for T20 these days. Good knowledge (legit).
Galted once educated me (I know, hard to believe) on here as to what an interrobang was. We then used it for about 6 months till everyone got bored.

Technically I think a grawlix is a replacement for a swear word. We use a replacement just for one letter.

Maybe it was you, Jules. It would certainly be more in keeping with your skills as a wordsmith and a grammer nazi.
Maybe me and Galted just got over excited by it and that is what I remember.

I haven't been keeping track. Did Hugh Jackman get through to the next round? It would be a travesty if he did - he's one of the the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.

Hopefully he won't be disappointed if Hugh doesn't proceed through to the next round and will hide his despair behind a pair of round rimmed indoor sunglasses.
Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
If that is the case I hope it doesn't distract him from his work. Although it makes for excellent Tw*tter, I don't think too many brides will be happy with their wedding dresses falling apart at the altar.

I think that one of them was nominated. They do seem to have a bit of a following on these boards though.

Dolph that location is poetry. First Tino had Libertines lyrics as his location, now you're rolling the Boss and the Morning Tea Society into one. Two cultural phenomenons that have deserved equal footing for far too long.
