Haven't seen Eastbound and Down but you're not the first person to mention it to me.
Dark is incredible. German show about children disappearing in a small German town but set over a number of different timelines. Gets bloody complicated at times and you really need to pay attention. Can't say too much more as just about any kind of plot description would be at least a partial spoiler.
Only has three series and the way it was left suggests that they won't be doing anymore.

The BBC local news web-site has the headline "Man jailed for 'truly horrific' pedestrian murder".
Either it was truly horrific or it was pedestrian. Can't have it both ways.

Dark - can't remember where it is now but there is a great website we ended up using to work out who was who. They generally did a truly brilliant job of finding actors for the same characters at different ages. Although there is so much that is brilliant about it, I always felt the climaxes at the end of each series were a little underwhelming.

Sounds like just the sort of show to inspire a barrage of stupid questions from Galtova.
No, I don't know who he is, no I don't know what she's doing there, mainly because I've seen as much of the show as you have which is about two minutes worth.

There was a point in series 2 where I thought my brain was going to drip out of my nose because I was having to think so hard. It requires you to remember a lot of what has already happened and where the character in that timeline is in relation to other characters in the same and other timelines. There's one point where someone that you thought was a fairly minor character becomes a simultaneously central figure across three different timelines whilst her older self and younger self have switched timelines.

Just read in the Entertainment & Arts section of the BBC site that it's Julius's birthday today.
Inspired me to write the following haiku...
it's Jules's birthday
hope he's not dead yet again
that would be quite sh*t

Yes, its German - there are norks in the opening scene. There's also some (legal) teenage norks as well.

Perfect. I shall watch it. Not interested in the plot twist, character developments and all that jazz.
All I need to know is would the answer be 'yes' if the question is 'would I be embarrassed to watch it with my dad'.

We watched it with at least one teenage son. I think the other one gave up on it.
Mind you - we also watched GoT with the same son. (first 6 series anyway.)

I am actually fairly close to death, having contracted one of the many diseases my offspring brings home from school.
Galtova thinks we're going to the beach tomorrow so, even if I survive this terrible sickness, I'm likely to be murdered when I tell her we're not.

My mum was a bee keeper, and we had hives at the bottom of the garden. She did very badly with stings though.

I am renting some hives at a local apiary near me at the moment as we are having some work done in the garden.
Once that is finished I am planning on installing some at home.

I'm hoping it's not the gamma variant.
Tino, I heard today that they're (the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute) thinking of using a newly created drug made from funnel web poison for use during heart by-pass surgery. There's also potential uses for treating heart attacks and strokes. Quite amazing news really... if it can work.

Yep, there are loads of potential medical applications in the pipeline that use insects.
There was one in Brazil a while ago about using the venom from the Wandering spider to help with impotence as one of the potential side effects from a Wandering spider bite is priapism which is essentially a prolonged stiffy (medical term). Sounds alright but I believe it is incredibly painful as well.
Some lab in Brazil was looking at harnessing it for that reason. Probably got other things on their mind now though.
You do not want to get bitten by a Wandering spider for all sorts of reasons. I would rather take a bite from an angry funnel web any day.

Funnel webs are nasty looking buggers up close. Also something quite eerie about their webs . Saw plenty of them on Fraser Island.

Think I'd pass on both.
Our next door neighbour was bitten (through the glove) by a funnel web when I was a kid. It was Centenary Ashes cricketer Rick McCosker's (who played with a broken jaw) aunt, Kath. Luckily we were all outside at the time... and had just chatted over the fence. The next moment we hear this god-awful wail. Rushed over to the fence to see this decent sized funnel web hanging off her fingertips. Fangs went right through the glove. The antidote had only just been developed and approved. She was one of the first to receive it. Funny coincidence - speaking to a older guy today who was telling me how often people (especially kids) simply died of the bites when he was growing up in the 50s and 60s. It's a lot better now in terms of survival but the pain would still be unbearable.

Instead of the beach why don't you suggest to Galtova a few hours in the sauna... to sweat the thing out. She'd probably love that. However, you'll still feel pretty rotten in the heat (initially) but then you've got a good excuse to crash out for a few days and recover more quickly. Get well soon.
