In the office today for the first time since March 2020. The novelty wore off by 9:30.
So did the drugs.

That just leaves Rick and Tino. Maybe they had a Thelma and Louise moment somewhere near Runcorn.

I can see Tina being tenderly f*cked by a young Brad Pitt, but I don't see Rick agreeing to a suicide pact.

Sicond.
Yeah, it's a bit quiet on here. Maybe Rick's in Runcorn still and Tino's lodged in a canal near the farm?
Sent out some invites to the cricket tipping comp... there's no pressure to sign up. It's only for 6 weeks.

Just copy and paste someone else's picks then edit if you want.

I've got a nasty suspicion that the two of them were out picking goosberries on the Yorkshire Moors and they bumped into DAVE. Might be far-fetched but I just can't get rid of it.

Here but not exactly present.
What is it about sitting in A&E for hours not doing anything except looking at your son in pain that is so very very tiring. (He's OK -shoulder dislocation)

I winced first at the hours waiting in A&E and then at the shoulder. Not sure which I'd choose if forced to.

What made it hard for me is that he did it in a kayak, and sometime about 35 or 36 years ago I did exactly the same thing. My shoulder has actually been hurting since.

RiCk obviously made a poor career choice and is actually having to work now, not just make a token effort whilst surfing the net.
Tino's dead, but that hasn't stopped him before.

Tino has had more comebacks than Nicholas Cage.

A bit hectic. Finish up for 2 weeks' holiday at lunchtime tomorrow and clients seem to think the world will end if their work doesn't get done before I go.

Don't worry about it. They're obviously talking about their world - not yours. You didn't create their problem, did you?
Tell them their case/file "will be in good hands whilst you are out of the office." Enjoy your holiday break.

It's starting to be fine because I've now got to the point where it would be an impossibility to get everything done, so now I don't care if any of it gets done.

Both Matlock and Petrocelli would probably investigate Tina's latest death, but I can't be bothered doing that.
I'll go and hang out with Banacek instead. Not because he's a lawyer, but simply because I like the cut of his jib.

How far off a sensible view do you have to be when Soul R is being more reasonable.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Is Soul formerly known as the Hammersmith Harrier? When he mentioned pool competitions it brought back memories of lunchtime matches I used to play with my English, American and Irish work colleagues around Olympia... which is not far from Hammersmith. We also had a darts comp going on other days. The pub was The Crown and Sceptre on Holland Rd. Just had a look at some pictures now. It's so different! In fact almost unrecognisable.
The four of us used to have a friendly comp but one day this local (I presume) walked in with his little box of cues and chalk - or whatever they carry in those things - and tried to challenge one of us for a game with money at stake. Think he was wearing a vest? Forget what happened... I think we politely told him we had to get back to the office soon but thanked him for his offer.
edit: Cleared it up on the golf thread. Definitely wasn't Soul. The question had to be asked nonetheless.

Morning, all, thought I would slip a cheeky fist in, currently having to swing between US and UK hours which means funky working times, but it's settling down to UK only now, I am not a Belarussian opposition supporter.

Reading between the lines of Rick's fist, Tino was a Belarussian opposition supporter. That he's dead again makes his final post last Friday all the more poignant.

Yes, the 'pair of c*nts' comment was clearly a reference to the fact that the downtrodden underclass of Belarus don't have two c*nts to rub together, while the elite bathe in champagne.
