Yes, it's crying out for a discussion on the late summer mating rituals of the crane fly.

I mean any mating ritual of any members of the insect family Tipulidae of the order Diptera, is generally a great discussion point, though the dense clouds to attract females can be offputting to some.

I've been thinking about making a wedding dress, but I just don't know where to start.

It seams odd without him but I gather there's always a cord to every serger lining.

You know, it's hard to write all that without keeping a straight stitch.

How's it going Lost? Did you buy that house a few weeks back... or were you just looking?

We have an offer accepted on a house but are having second thoughts. May be easier just investing the money instead. It is a complex situation and I am concerned with the amount of work needed to run a rental even if it is managed.

Currently doing the rounds of talking to a couple of financial advisors, who are sharks but it doesn't mean that they are not saying some sensible things.

My son is trying to get me to invest in whisky casks with him. Doubt I'll do it even though returns seem decent.

Have you thought about investing in whisky casks? From what I've heard the returns seem decent.

I guess you can always drink the stuff if things go wrong.

Yeah. You'd need to urinate in them and let them age for 40-60 years.

Just to add to the above, we had yet another meeting, and as a result we are dropping the idea of the buy to let, although it isn't the worst idea. One of the silly things is how we look at expenses. The idea of paying a financial adviser a chunk of cash feels wrong, as opposed to paying stamp duty which although wrong is something you factor in.

That's a poor excuse for a self-unmichaelsing.

It's a shame Tino's dead again. He would have enjoyed yesterday's University Challenge picture round on stitch names in embroidery.

He may have enjoyed it, but it was of course two days ago. Such pedantry is why I am such a valuable member, not just of this forum but the Internet as a whole.

While we're on the topic of University Challenge, I recently wrote to ITV to ask if they could upload old episodes of University Challenge (the ones with Gazza) to ITV Hub or Britbox. They said they had no plans to do that. I asked if I could buy copies of old episodes. They said yes, but it would cost £75 per episode. Pure extortion. I nearly died of shock.

Did they write back straight away or did you have to hurry them?

Our cat won't sh*t on anything but her favourite clumping cat litter so, touch wood, we're fairly safe there.  She has one of those enclosed litter boxes, had to laugh when I read the reviews on Amazon - someone said that it was a good product but their cat couldn't quite figure it out, used to stick his head inside the litter box and crap with his arse sticking out.

We have a large cellar in our house. Its where the litter box lives. On rare occasions they use it. They do have their plus points and have been more important than you'd expect, but there are definite down sides. One of the others is the 7 year carving effort on the legs of the kitchen table. Yes they also use the scratching post next to it...

I've also found scratching posts to be next to useless. Ours prefers our footstool and myself.

I wish I could remember who wrote it but a writer once described cats as downholsterers.

Who would have thought that I could get a tird after 11 am?
