I've just been down your neck of woods for a couple of weeks, Duty. South Devon. Or maybe you were Cornwall? Basically the same thing...
I did ask if anyone knew you but no one did.

Lazarus has returned!
South Devon and Cornwall are not the same thing, just adjacent.
My parents lived in Salcombe for over 30 years. I know that part of the world well.

I know, just trying to wind Duty up.
We did pop to Salcombe, very nice. Went all over the place round there. We were staying near Bovey Tracey but traveled around all over the place. Eden Project was pretty good although overpriced for what you get. Dartmoor is stunning though. Spent a lot of time walking round that place. Could happily live out my days wandering round there.
Was doing a bit of paddleboarding one afternoon and a couple of seals popped up right next to the board and swam alongside us for a few moments. Pretty amazing sight.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
I am always a bit mixed about Salcombe. It has changed so much over the years. The shops are great because there are a lot of wealthy people with bolt holes down there, but those people are often pretty horrible. The kind of local character it had has lessened over the years.
I hope you got the pronunciation of 'Bovey' in Bovey Tracy right. I am not sure if I have visited it as such but know of it mainly through Trago Mills.

Yep. The lady whose cottage we rented kindly left us a list of things to do and see and she did helpfully tell us the correct pronunciation of Bovey.
If Geoff/Jeff Rowley lived in Bovey Tracey, it would be a nightmare.

I was reluctant to do it at first as I didn't want to be one of those men in a wet suit but I went with the kids and it was actually very pleasant. And I turned down the offer of hiring a wet suit. Just went with the Speedo look instead. Quite relaxing once I worked out how to do it and stopped falling in the sea. Especially when the seals arrived. They are very cute animals.

Goodrington sands. There were nicer places around but that had the best dog friendly beach so tended to head there when we were looking at beach days.

You wouldn't look out of place in Australia. In a supermarket. In the 80s...
There used to be lots of women in bikinis and sarongs back in the day. Having a good think near the ice cream section.

It's funny you should say that. We found some tiny little village called Stoke Gabriel which had a mill pond and a small harbour. We did a bit of crabbing and the gulls were the most brazen ones I have ever seen. Literally just landing right next to people and sticking their heads in the buckets or taking bacon out of peoples hands as they tried to load the bait bags. Absolutely fearless.
I chuckled at one point as a young kid started to cry following a particularly aggressive gull taking some bacon from his hand. I overheard his dad telling the mum that a seagull had taken it. I debated telling him there is no such thing as a seagull but he was very big and quite emotional and I didn't think it was the right time.

Yes, I've been keeping an eye on it too.
Soul has a similar musical taste to me although I have different favourite songs for each of those bands he listed.
The rent boy discussion seems to be going round in circles. It's so easy to blur the lines these days. Anything's plausible I guess. Pretty sure they're winding each other up most of the time.
Duty, did you put that bet on when England were 11/10... you know, "the nice little top up"?
Had a look at the odds (just for fun) when England went into bat and they were 25/1.
I was about to post 'be careful' but you were probably already in on it. Hope you didn't lose too much.
