Common house spiders. We've had a lot of rain lately so they're obviously looking for a warm dry refuge.

Have to feel a bit sorry for our spider living in the UK if warmth and dryness is what they like.

Make a little cotton wool nest for it and take it up to Tino's. Pretty sure he'll have some space in the shed for it.

In amongst the thimble collection.

Maybe I could smuggle my kid into his house, doubt he'd notice with the multitudes he has rampaging about.

Happy Birthday, Galted!

I left a present for you out in the corridor. Maybe take the cat out for an inspection walk and collect it when you get a chance.

He wasn't great in Mary Poppins Returns, but that's taking it a bit far.

Long fist here, short fist for you Galts.

So only 3 months until the equinox fist then which is usually less painful for all of us.

Not sure about that PJ, there's an element of discomfort in both the Vernanal and Autumnanal equinoxes.

Hello Jules. I was reading about that earlier but happy you've brought it to the wider audience.

I have also been to the Sedgwick Museum more than once so delighted it is heading there. I shall make a visit next year and report back.

If that doesn't lure Tino off the cricket boards nothing will.

Fun fact: I originally typed 'Tino of the cricket boards' which is just as valid a statement.

I think you might mean the scutigera? It is actually a type of centipede.

One of the few things I've ever seen Steve Backshall properly creeped out from.

They are pretty horrible looking things.

He's great. A firm favourite in the Windows household.

Went to see him at Whipsnade zoo once which was great. Did a snake handling display and some falconry which was just brilliant. Stayed around for absolutely ages afterwards answering questions and signing stuff. To the point where he was ignoring his agent (I assume) who was trying to hurry him along.

Fist.

What?

Oh for the sake of f*ck.  And right before Christmas as well.

At least I caught it and not Jules.

I won't carry it around for months like he would. Plus I think I like you a little more than he does. Just the impression I get from him.

Same.  I don't know what I've done to offend him, apart from all the things I've done to offend him.

I think he tolerates us and nothing more. There is not much love there.

I don't know why. We are both incredibly erudite and charming. And (probably) dashingly handsome as well.

Perhaps he sees us as a threat to his reputation as a wordsmith.  That would certainly explain why he tries to undermine us with his pedantry and abuse.

I think you might be on to something.

Hopefully he reads this and realises that it isn't just words on a screen. There are people with real feelings and emotions on the end of his cutting comments.

Maybe we will see a much more tolerant and inclusive Jules next year.

I hope so, Tino. My door will always be open to him, no matter how many times he may wound me.

It has been a pleasure talking to you this morning, Galted.

It reminds me of the old Culture Cup Rd 6 that was the genesis of the Tea Society that followed.

Just a couple of sophisticated raconteurs holding court. Two heavyweight intellects finding a common ground for our thoughts.

Very much so, I imagine that this is what a conversation between Leonardo da Vinci and Steven Gerrard would be like.

And one of those heavyweights knowing when to start a new post rather than adding to the previous pile to make it easier for the many, many people reading this on their mobile devices.

Galted and Tino of the Cricket Board - apologies for intruding on your heavyweight intellectual discussions but thought I would look in here for any Truly Scrumptious posts this week. Alas not to be.

I couldn't love you any more than I currently do after that, GB.

Even the insult hasn't dampened that love.

I thought that my wishing Rick a merry Xmas in return was fairly scrumptious. Each to their own, I suppose.
