First topic message reminder :
Maybe I could smuggle my kid into his house, doubt he'd notice with the multitudes he has rampaging about.

I saw two little ones on the ceiling last night... in different rooms.
Common house spiders. We've had a lot of rain lately so they're obviously looking for a warm dry refuge.
Have to feel a bit sorry for our spider living in the UK if warmth and dryness is what they like.
Make a little cotton wool nest for it and take it up to Tino's. Pretty sure he'll have some space in the shed for it.
In amongst the thimble collection.

Yep, fairly scrumptious but not a Sally Ann Howes Truly Scrumptious. Anyway, moving on from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - and I was really looking for you and Tino of the Cricket Board to help me more there - she was a child actress in one of my favourite films, Dead of Night. A rare and highly effective foray into horror by Ealing Studios albeit with the expected touch of comedy from the makers. Strongly recommended if not seen. It comes round every now and again on Talking Pictures and the like.

Fist.
What?
Oh for the sake of f*ck. And right before Christmas as well.
At least I caught it and not Jules.
I won't carry it around for months like he would. Plus I think I like you a little more than he does. Just the impression I get from him.
Same. I don't know what I've done to offend him, apart from all the things I've done to offend him.
I think he tolerates us and nothing more. There is not much love there.
I don't know why. We are both incredibly erudite and charming. And (probably) dashingly handsome as well.
Perhaps he sees us as a threat to his reputation as a wordsmith. That would certainly explain why he tries to undermine us with his pedantry and abuse.
I think you might be on to something.
Hopefully he reads this and realises that it isn't just words on a screen. There are people with real feelings and emotions on the end of his cutting comments.
Maybe we will see a much more tolerant and inclusive Jules next year.
I hope so, Tino. My door will always be open to him, no matter how many times he may wound me.
F*ck off you f*cking c*nts.

That's what the forum needs to keep hold of posters, a Truly Scrumptious Lady of the Week.
I nominate Claire Goodier as our first winner, a real lady of our times. This little minx loves children and animals but is not averse to a bit of drug-fuelled fun.

Merry Christmas to the men, women, gender fluid arachnids and even the f*cking northerners of these parts.
I would have come and said so earlier, but what's an entry from a Culture Cup Veteran if it isn't late for absolutely no reason?

Not quite.... one last unmichaelsing for 2021.
A little shocked to see de Kock hang up his gloves. They must be quite worn out. His fingers tired too...
At least now he has plenty of spare time to apply good moisturising cream to his over-worked hands.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
I saved a common house fly from the swimming pool today.
I even placed it on a leaf in a cool spot a blew some of my sweet breath on its wings. That didn't kill it.
It turned its head towards me as if to say: "Why are you doing this?... Thanks for that."
Then it casually flew off towards the neighbour's back yard about 30 seconds later.
Too much insect carnage around here lately. I've saved dozens of bees, a few lacewings, a small wasp (or two), a couple of fragile looking transparent-looking spiders... and now this precious fly.
What's wrong with the rest of the world? Where's the humanity?
(I'm all for serenity too, by the way.)

I suspect that PJ's brain's been taken over by Emerald Cockroach Wasps. Just a bit of fine tuning and they'll have him hoarding all these insects he 'rescues'.

Probably. They look quite impressive. So they specialise in killing cockroaches?
Fortunately, I don't get many cockroaches since I placed quite a few cockroach bombs under the house. I did 2 lots of 6 bombs about 6 months apart... about 2 years ago.
It's like placing live grenades in strategic locations (it's pretty scary under there) and then crawling away in a slight panic as the smoke envelops the sub floor space. I went for about 18 months without a single cockroach. Must have taken out the queen... and all of her suitors as well.
Since then I've only had about 3 or 4 small ones (in the last quarter of 2021) which is not too bad at all for these parts. I think they were most likely illegal immigrant cockroaches from next door who unfortunately stepped into The Danger Zone. I don't have an Asylum Seeker Policy drafted up yet.

I just heard Mike Haysman say "Verreynne's got to grab these opportunities with both hands."
Much like de Kock did, I'd suspect. Although one hand usually did the trick for Quinton.
It worked! He just grabbed one with both hands. Pant gone. Back to the dressing room obviously.
Ooops, wrong thread.

Yeah.
Also my illegal insect immigrant reference above. I'm trying to draw out Jules and Duty. See if we can start some sort of heated debate on here about morals, insect rights and the law.

I think KP_fan's being a bit harsh on Kohli and Pujara and Rahane. I'd definitely persevere with Virat. Too great a player. He's just going through a mini form slump but I reckon he's got some more big scores left in him.

Yes it is...
"How's the serenity!"... when Darryl Kerrigan is at Bonnie Doon looking at the power lines and bleak landscape around the lake.
However it was also used in a Seinfeld episode.
George Costanza's old man, Frank saying "Serenity now!" I was actually thinking more of that one at the time.

Shut your face.
I do have a rather uplifting insect story.
There was a big bumblebee in the garden yesterday. The milder weather must have got him all jazzed up and awake too early. He was basically just sat there not moving.
I picked him up and made a little sugar water substance and sat him right next to it. He started to drink it and moved around a little bit. Then I put him on some heather and he had a little rest before flying off. Probably got killed by a car but at least he didn't die on my watch.

You're like me, Tino. You go out of your way to look after insects. I always try to put the bees on some flowers with nectar. Try to remind them to keep working after nearly drowning.
Forgot to mention I fished a giant beetle out a few days ago. When I picked it up it made such a loud noise. Sort of like the vibrating mode on a iphone. Lots of energy in such a little insect.
