Can't trust those wicket-keepers.
I used to have a fine leg. Not so sure anymore.
Good point.
Thanks, didn't want to slip up.
If you do, I'll cover for you.
Great. On here though, I'm not expecting you to drive anywhere.
Trying to think of other cricket puns, but I'm stumped.
I'm just bowled over that you're joining in.
It's this sort of thing that gives us the edge.
I'm just praying that no one oversteps the boundary.
I'm wondering if we'll run out of cricket puns.
I've got at least 4 more.

Certainly one of the best michaelsings since the last one. A lot has happened since early Friday morning here.
Two of my teams lost, one team won. A new Government on Saturday night. My birthday on Sunday and also the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Tokyo Sky Tree.

Thanks Rick. I saw some brutal pitch attack (that Nottingham Forest guy getting head-butted) and some euphoria from yesterday's game. The agony and the ecstasy. That king hit was awful!
Chilly weekend here. It's winter next week. Can't believe I was swimming 4 weeks ago (2nd May was my last swim) but the water looks too cold now. Just heard we've had 94 rainy days out of 142 days and 1430mm (56 inches) of rain so far this year. Unheard of until now. It's a bit depressing really but I'm trying to keep positive. We've had the odd perfect day now and then... in between all the flooding rains.
Also somewhat relieved with the election outcome. I guess we just needed a change from all the same faces (after 9 years) but the new faces will have their work cut out. Lots of big promises about a becoming a renewable energy powerhouse (but how will that be funded if our main export income - coal and gas - gets wound down?) and a more 'caring' approach (which sounds nice and is more than welcome) but on the flip side we have to understand that others may not play by the same rules on the global stage.
Anyway, let's see how it all pans out. We're about 4-6 months behind you (cost of living pressure, inflation, interest rates) so it's probably not the best time to make too many sweeping changes to the structure of the economy and start spending even more money on overly progressive programmes... although there's nothing wrong about dreaming big for a better future.

I've just got back from a lovely break in Antwerp.
It was only on my return that I discovered some scientists think the monkeypox outbreak could have started there. At some fetish festival called Darklands. I don't think I have the virus but I wish I'd known about the festival beforehand, I would have gone to that.

Re: Music Section Morning Tea Society
Fist.
What an awful weekend. Two sad losses and talk of a dreadful comeback.
Lester Piggott has now gone past the finishing post and descended his mount. Quick story. Mrs Bat's folks were friends with a bigwig in HMRC (probably the Inland Revenue at the time) when Lester had all his tax troubles and ended up in the jug. An agreement had been reached that he would avoid a criminal trial subject to him having fully declared all past and current earnings and interest (which he said he had) and then being taxed with a financial penalty on them. All seemed to be going smoothly as Lester wrote a cheque (remember those?!) out to the Revenue to put the sorry matter to bed. Unfortunately, the money was to be drawn from an interest paying account that Lester hadn't declared!
Patricia Brake has hung up her bra for good. However, she will live on for ever in my memory as Ingrid visiting dad Norman Stanley Fletcher in Porridge. If you don't understand, I'm sure the interweb will show you.
Oh, and talk from our so called Government of a return to imperial measures. Desperate foolishness from a desperate fool.
