Glasgow and Edinburgh 30 - Starting the new season with 2 wins - Long may it continue

Well both Scotland's pro teams got off the mark with a W this weekend, though probably fair to say that Glasgow's was slightly more pleasing on the eye!

Still not to be sniffed at and probably a while since it last happened.

A good omen for the season, let's hope so, though early season games are not always a predictor of longer term performance. Both sides still got plenty of players to bring back into the fold and a lot of improvement to make.

They are stopped but are on the 5m going through drive phases.......Munster infringe again - another penalty......

Glasgow probably need to go to corner again as they still have quite a few minutes on the sin bin........this is a 5m lineout.......stright in the lineout......and another munster penalty........they try a chip doesnt work out....

Munster must be getting a close to their own card here....

Another 5m lineout.........munster turn it over though with Byrne tapping back - munster punt it away,

Glasgow run it straight back though but are turned over in the munster half....again Byrne turns that over.....big few minutes from him there....

Munster bring on some subs.....Snyman is one of them......they also attack from a lineout in the Glasgow 40.

They are running lines but still about 10m away from the 22..Cancelliere intercepts though and forces a knock on so glasgow will have a scrum outside their own 22.

Glasgow regain the ball after clearing and are now deep in the munster 40 - about 10m from the 22. Going through the phases now.....

Another penalty to Glasgow......Munster hands clear in the ruck to slow possession........someone needs to go to the bin now - last 5 have all been munster.....

Glasgow go for 3 hear - this isnt an easy kick - wide out on the right side......

he hooks it across the face of the post though so stays at 7-3........

OMG what a try for Glasgow....they run the length after the return kick from munster......

Nails the conversion from the right side again........thats 14-3 to Glasgow.........

up to 15 men now again as well.

Now munster with urgency come back - they almost break free but are deep into the Glasgow 22. about 5m out......

Glasgow though recover and get a penalty - defence is winning them the game.

this will let them clear their lines....

Munster are not dealing with these scrum half clearances.....another one caught by Glasgow but they are still in their own 40m........Munster charge down the next one though and get the ball back. Trying to attack and they get some lovely hands and go over in the corner on the left side.....

Now glasgow making some subs........Munster emptied a lot of their bench 10 mins ago.......

Munster take the kick in their own 22 and clear to about 10m outside their 22. Good position for Glasgow.....

Munster this time turn them over........another clearance coming up now......kept infield - glasgow take it and run it back........- up to half way....

they kick again and munster knock on so glasgow will get a scrum on in the munster half....

Munster turn over run about 20m and then get turned over by Glasgow........

Its a penalty too but think this is to far for Glasgow to go for posts.......

Glasgow having a patch but they are just over half way .....but another Munster penalty......this is kickable.....

they go for corner but miss and munster punt it 50m - bit of ping pong now between both sides.........glasgow get advantage now though - another penalty .......

This time Glasgow do push it to the 22......just outside - lineout is taken and they go through phases.......but a loose pass leads to a knockon.

just 13 minutes left and Glasgow still lead 14-10........Munster have a scrum and clearance coming just outside of their own 22.......scrum is reset though....

Munster manage to get the ball back on half way went though some promising phases but knock on giving the ball back to glasgow on the half way.......

Glasgow look like they might have the edge in the scrum since the subs.....

End to end stuff now - munster turn glasgow over in their own 22 and kick it upfield to Glasgow who again run this back.........play on the half way line at the moment.........kick away by glasgow and munster gather........

Munster went though phases in their own half but another knock on. Glasgow have another platform.

just 9 minutes left....if it stays like this Glasgow will be travelling to SA for the final....

And another knock on for Glasgow in the Munster 40.

and now a penalty to glasgow...........guessing they will push to the corner here.....

thats a lineout about 10m from the try line.......glasgow retain the lineout.......Glasgow go through the phases....

Refs got his arm out for another glasgow penalty........someone has to go to the bin......

He gives them a warning? sorry but someone should have gone to the bin by now.......

now they are looking at a replay - looks a card here for sure....

Glasgow defence has been stellar for 75mins - really top draw from them all game

now munster have a penalty on the glasgow 40m but playing advantage.......but they go back......

Munster can put this in the corner.....

He gets it into the glasgow 22 but just on the line......

less then 3mins left

rolling maul keeps going gets them about 15m to the try line.......they are nudging closer........but a knock on again - glasgow scrum half with 90 seconds left.....

couple of resets on these scrums

carry up the middle by glasgow.........one more carry again by glasgow........and now they kick out and thats it

so it will be Glasgow or Bulls.......good luck for the final...

Excellent performance by Glasgow. A real toe to toe scrap. POM was very pommish. Loved it.

My god what a game! I dropped £15.99 on Prem Sport to watch that and I'm so glad I did. Beating Munster on their own turf in a semi final.

Firstly commiserations to Munster fans, that must really sting. It was a monster battle from start to finish. Ultimately too many mistakes from Munster I thought despite some great play throughout.

Glasgow away to Bulls in the final.. I really didn't expect that. Jordan, Tuipoulotu and Mackay were outstanding. The pack were immense.

Cracking game, and tremendous performances from Glasgow across the board. Darge was terrific, and thought Williamson came on to great effect. Huwipolotu goes from strength to strength. Tom Jordan over the ball was heroic. Really impressive.

Got the Irish shield again, this year since only inter pros count its essentially the old interprovincial league, not sure why more hasn't been made of it this year.

Good win for Glasgow thought the Munster Glasgow rivalry had got a bit one sided, that result will really spice it up again, and I mean that in a good way as its rivalies outside derbies that Ive always said add to the character of the league and create extra fan buy in

How are warriors fans going to make it to Pretoria for the final? Will there be some sort of fan package deal for travel?

Caz the Quiet Bok was on to me this morning suggesting we could stay at his dad's place so all I'd need would be the air fare.
Sadly, I was having one of my periodic bouts of sanity and declined.

It's a shame flights are lot pricier than they used to be, makes it tough for fans to be at these big occasions. Still chuffed for the Warriors that they've made the final. Surely the incoming mystery SRU CEO will look at wariors and edinburgh and think.. "hmm, Warriors x3 finals, exciting brand of rugby. Edinburgh... 0 finals, confused brand of rugby.. Maybe we can copy and paste?"
