Nah I don't do complicated Steven.
I won't have as many links as the Aviva and ERL game, just do tables, foreign transfers and domestic transfers and fixtures.
If we get 10 players, then I will let you pick a name for your team. If you have read the rules you can call your team whatever name you want.

Can I just make a bit of a suggestion around transfers.
If you have 10 teams each trying to sign 25 players that is 250 players and it is going to become messy and complicated and a bit of a free for all.
It may make sense to have some sort of draft/pick system making it fair for all.

agree with this - think that people should take it in turns to pick once all the managers have been allocated - at least maybe up to the first 15 then after that maybe have a transfer/foriegns bid start?

Doing a draft is simple enough in any case. Just number the teams one to 10 and then people get to select in the following order and repeat as many times as is necessary.

What you could do is do 15 rounds and make round 1 loosehead, 2 hooker, 3 tighthead etc etc up until a full 15 and then open transfers for people fill out the rest of their squads.
Just a suggestion.

Pete is think your idea is best, I will do it that way mate.
Draft might be the best way, if we get a full set of 10 I will randomise the managers/teams then whoever gets the top pick gets to pick a loosehead prop first, then so on.
When round one finishes of loosehead props, then I will randomise again and move onto hookers, whoever comes out to pick first they pick there hooker then manager number 2 picks and so on until we complete a full 15 starting line up finishing with Full-Backs.
It's better doing 15 rounds, and randomising the managers all the time, so it's fair that if somebody ended up with the final pick in Round 1 - Loosehead Prop, they might get randomised to pick first, second or third when it comes to Hookers.
How does that sound?

you see this is why I think allowing people to pick any position is better, you can still continue to pick quality throughout each turn . . . I wouldn't just stick to making people pick from 1 position . . .

The system that I proposed is slightly unfair as it means that some people will never get first pick whereas two teams will rotate first pick on each round. Randomising it could also throw up similarly unfair scenarios, so here is the only way to do it to make it fair.

Interesting Pete, that sounds pretty good plus you have set it out aswell which makes it less complicated.
That is very fair if you ask me, we keep changing the set up but im going to go with the above.

I doubt there will be little teams, every side will have very good players.
I have set up a fixture page, every side will play each other twice but I will put them fixtures down on another page at a later date if this game does go well.
If I do decide to do tactics I wouldn't want you to write much, points would be easier and better for myself and most of you guys.

1.Should the draft cost us money?
2.If the draft doesn't cost us any money, should I drop the budgets down to £200 for everyone?
3.Should I stick with 1980's players, because like we discussed before for the younger one's it might prove difficult, the 1990's and 2000's era's would be better equipped for all of us, plus you can buy whatever player you want so you will have a wide range of players to choose from, from both era's.

1. No, the draft should not cost money, it should be a free pick.
2. Drop the budgets to £100 million for everyone. Teams only need to 'buy' 5 players and as you have said you would only charge £20million top whack for a player this is easily attainable within this figure. what it will also mean is that people will have to think long and hard about getting into bidding wars over individual players and going up to £30-40million on an individual, thereby bring an bit of skill and judgement to the game.
3. I would say stick with 80's players as well as it opens up the player pool a bit more, but is a risk and adds an extra element to the game as if people go for players from the early 80's and the younger guys haven't heard of them it could have an influence on predictions so again is a judgement call for people and brings a bit of skill to proceedings.
