magne one of the best blindside of his generation
smith one of the best opensides of his generation
both play both positions, but why mess around? a truly great set of flankers, complimenting each other beautifully.
you seem to get your flankers and props mixed up quite a bit fella!

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game
yeah the sa swap numbers round and often play left and right flankers as well! french do it sometimes as well. the modern day flanker is typically much more mobile anyway, so the difference between 6 + 7 isn't much. george smith was a typical openside though i would have said, sure he moved to 6 quite a lot, probably mostly to allow waugh to play as well. Waugh was also an out and out 7, but too good to leave out! he would have been a shoe in in other int teams, if it wasn't for smith!

Everyone has good sides, it's anybody's to win.
But think players like Meeuws, Elsom should be on the bench for you Banafan.
Not starting Spencer is a hard call aswell, but Wilkinson is amazing.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game
so that explains why smith played 6 so often then.!
yeah the french back rowers move about all over the place, take Hari he's everywhere for Biarritz including 2nd row depending on whats going on on the field! mind you at the moment he's playing 7 a lot due to lakafia at 8, whos amazing.

Spencer/wilkinson, there isn't a game situation on this planet that between them, that can't be addressed! Wilko to start and build a lead, Carlos to weave magic in the gaps late on! or Carlos to attack from year dot, get a lead, wilko to punish team into submission late on. Or play both!!! Catt to bench to cover FH/IC/WG/FB!

I wouldn't play Spencer at 12. If you are going to play him and Wilko has to be Carlos at 10 and Jonny in midfield.

Nobody needs to strengthen just buy and buy is the motto of this game, improve in positions and buy whoever you want and win games.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game
Can't see me keeping this up tbh with you guys.
Have to let you down, have too much on elsewhere and too much to sort out on this game.
You got the ERL aswell, and a new football game I really want to play, this takes up too much time doing on thing then another.
Been having tension stress aswell and something like this certainly won't help that.
Really sorry guys.

That's a bit of a let down mate, but not entirely surprising if I am honest.
If people want to continue to play the game, I am happy to take over running it.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game
Im out of my depth just too much to do on a game like this, just when it comes to tables and scores and stuff just takes up too much time and I don't have a clue on how to calculate those.
Tables I will even struggle on doing them, just wanted to give it a go but tension headaches have been coming on about once a year and now there back again and if I keep doing things on here it will just become a whole lot worse.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game
Why does everyone think as I have just said this that im instantly blogs.
I doubt it would of run through anyway, it's just a bit too much to handle would be better doing a football game if im honest with you.
And yes it gives you a lot of stress to be honest and tension changing this and that and I need a rest from all of that.
Wanted to give it a go and just got a gut feeling it wouldn't of gone on much longer, both other Rugby league's are better run than this one.

Re: Rugby Union Legends Game
I'm not too bothered either way. If Pete wanted to carry it on I would be willing to help out.
I'm struggling to resist the 'I told you so' comments. Blogs criticised my league on a weekly basis and yet can't run one for more than two weeks.
The reasons I know you are Blogs:
- You have exactly the same writing style. Unfinished sentences, always seems like you're in a rush to write something.
- Initially, the log ins would switch throughout the day - eg. Blogs AM Bear PM. Now Blogs has been outted we haven't heard from him for toffee. Seems unlikely to me that someone would go from being on here every day to not at all.
- Your team name is Cookie Monster. The same as the team name on the AP fantasy league we set up through the ERL - when 'Bear' did not exist. Your real name is Gavin Hugill.

and PULL don't forget . . . because your a pain the the A***
Right I think that this has finally made my mind up - as much as I love these fantasy games, and as much as I certainly enjoy the banter with you lot - I just realised that spending my time and effort creating a team and on these games only for the game to start failing after 2 weeks shows me what a waste of time it is for me at the moment, when I have so much more to be doing . . . .
on that note I resign from this league - I will try and pop on every now and then for some banter but it's time to get myself in check -
cheers guys and girls

I am guessing from what has been said that carrying on is not going to be likely as Hon is out, Bear has gone and that only leaves us with 8, the majority of whom haven't commented.
Real shame, such a good concept for a game. Ah well onwards and upwards and all that.
