SURREY VS HAMPSHIRE AWAY LV COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION ONE 2024

Surrey have yet again named an unchanged 13 man squad for the LV=Insurance County Championship game against Hampshire starting on Friday 24th May at the Utilita Bowl.
Jamie Overton now confirmed to have a stress fracture of the lower back and will be out for some time yet again there is no update on Tom Lawes
Sadly this is the last game for Kemar Roach before returning home. maybe he will be back later in the year

Hants have named a 13 man squad including the much liked (by me anyway) 'Ronnie' Barker and Aussie Michael Neser. Think Surrey signed Neser for the t20s a long time back but he dropped out with back trouble.

Poor morning after choosing to bat, Smith out to last ball before lunch means 89-4, can't see many batting bonus points

Feeble effort all round from Surrey, all the batsmen got in then got out, Hants showed what can be achieved with a little application, long long way back here, unless the weather intervenes

A dreadful day at the office for Surrey whilst Hants performed very well throughout.

When our second innings comes, we are very probably going to have to bat for 2 days to save the game. I think it exceptionally unlikely we'll manage that.

Another appalling session from Surrey as Hampshire double their overnight score, without further loss, this is looking like a 'Eurovision' performance from Surrey, as we head for a heavy defeat and nil pwant!

Captain Clueless has completely lost the plot now, this has turned into an absolute embarrassment, they'll have another 2 century makers by 11.30 tomorrow, and we'll have a 400+ deficit when the dope goes into bat before lunch tomorrow
