The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Yeh I knew it was invitational alright. I just wasn't sure if the Nations cup is the one that they would get the most out of.
Yeh they are indeed a Saffers club which had me confused as to why they were playing in an internationl European tournement

I'm having a nerd moment, but seeing as we play France 24 hours after we play Connacht then isn't it more accurate to say Connacht V Ireland 'A'?

I'd love to get up to Scotland for a match some time. I know that Edinburgh on Six Nations weekends is meant to be great, but for a regional game could be good.

Wallace is at 10 for the Wolfhounds. Court is better served playing loosehead on the Friday night than being on the bench on the Saturday afternoon. He can't do both.
I expect Ferris, O'Leary and Kearney to all feature in our starting 22. And I would imagine they'd rather given the game against Connacht to the inexperienced Murray and let O'Leary onto the bench. I suspect Keatley will get nod ahead of Humphreys not least of all for his versatility and the fact he already has Ireland caps and will represent a better option for the future.

Hi Hughie, yes we're pretty much set now. One or two last little bits but nothing to worry about. Sharpey seems to be fine. Though that could change over the next week
Rava, not bad is it?! Really not good having that just round the corner. And Sharpey is away at the moment... can't be bothered to cook... soooo...

As, you can't compare Scarlets to the Dragons on the basis of last season (especially the Heino). It helps having an Italian team in the group, plus our Heino campaign and a lot of the league was under the stewardship of Paul Turner.
Dragons are ace. FACT. End of.

Talk is cheap Rev. Lets see the Dragons make the HEC next year. Lets see them make a Heineken Cup knockout or win the ML. They're playing catch up
Aled Brew makes up for all that though

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yeah, Dragons Heino campaign really did not reflect what they are capable of in terms of attacking sides. Or what they are capable of in general.
I actually think it could be Ospreys, Dragons, Scarlets if Blues don't buck their act up.
Stag is right about one thing though, talk is cheap, and we all make these predictions in the knowledge that the reality of things from September onwards is really quite different
rodders- what are stick mitts?

Rodders - I used them as a 13 year old. I found them awkward and made me have sweaty hands. They offer no real improvement on handling
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Leinster’s pre-season friendlies have been announced. (RaboBank sponsored) Melbourne Rebels and Northampton Saint.
FINALLY a chance to see Danny Cipriani in Donnybrook, I was gutted when he cried off before the match started a few years back!

They come in handy when playing rugby in a place like Carnoustie when it's late January when the wind and sleet are howling in off the north sea.
Although worse was to come in that game when we got into the Changing rooms to find out the boiler in the showers had broken down.
Skinny dipping in the North Sea at that time of year tought me a lesson that will only be learned once.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Afternoon all.
Just sat in Pret a Manger near Bank in London. Thought I would give you an update on my job interview (whish is at 4pm)
Some of you may recall that when I went for my first interview, I was on the flight with Antoine DuBek who I said hello to.
Anyway this morning - another celeb!
Lulu!
And she sat in the row in fron of me. Anyway, thats not the story. I was sat in row 12 and the breakfast service was making its way towards me when suddenly the alarm on the plane went off and the oxygen masks dropped down.
An automated voice informed us all to remain calm (!) and put them over our faces - this is not a drill.
The captain comes on (a woman dont you know!) and informs us that the plain has lost cabin pressure and that we need to breath through the masks. Children are screaming in pain as peoples ears pop (mine were in excrutiating pain) as the pilot puts the plane into a dive to get us from 35k feet to 10k.
She then informs us to not worry about the smell on board the plane and that we were now "perfectly safe" and that we would make it to gatwick a little late.
We landed and were followed by a fire engine and the pilot told us that if any of us were feeling sick to seek medical attention.
I now have ear ache and a migraine before my interview. Thanks BA.
I did talk to Lulu as I got off the plane though! She was nice enough and tweeted about it - aiming for a RT off her later!
So in London, feeling Poopie, and have the interview to come.
