Union Cane's Prediction League - 12th and Final Round
First topic message reminder :

Week Eleven Results

Week Eleven Review
Tomasz Adamek is a two-weight world champion, and therefore clearly no mug, but he was no match for Vitali Klitschko. Simply too small to compete, Adamek did well to last as long as he did but was never going to beat the bigger man.
Paul McCloskey should change his name to McLucky, after a terrible start he somehow managed to turn things round (helped no doubt by the home crowd cheering every punch he threw, let alone landed) and get a controversial decision against Breidis Prescott.
Some very high scores this week, even without the McCall / Cooper result, which is not in yet. which is now a voided fight.
When will I learn not to use fights from these back-water third-world countries?
'Predictor of the Week' is a tricky one this week, with Mind the windows Tino., alma, licence_007 and Reborn-DeeMcK-Reborn all getting all four fights spot on and amassing 16 points each. As it's impossible to split them, this week's award goes to Michaels, Sean, who, despite all the points on offer, still only managed a paltry 3 points. Took some doing that, well done Sean.

Re: Union Cane's Prediction League - 12th and Final Round
There will be some significant changes for the next season of Union Cane's Prediction League, most notable being the formation of a 'Premiership' of the 20 best predictors from the current season, and a 'Championship' (or Second Division as it was in my day) containing the best of the rest. Each season will be significantly shorter, being run over five weeks instead of the current twelve, with promotion and relegation between the two divisions. There will also be some minor alterations to the scoring system, details of which will be finalised nearer the time.
Hopefully everyone will agree that this will make the Prediction League more vibrant and dynamic, and it now gives an incentive to those currently in the 20th - 40th bracket to try to push up that table for a place in the inaugural Premiership season. If anyone has any other ideas or suggestions that they want to put forward then please let me know.

Get someone to get in touch with Warren and see if we can get some tickets for the winner to his next half decent card? Or any promo company? Hatton might be up for it as he fought for us the fans!

Fantastic idea to have two divisions and the 2nd division is a good starting ground for new players. Will there be more fights each week in the shorter format?
Agree it will make the League "vibrant and dynamic". Looking forward to it.

I'm hoping to have 10 fights per week, although this might mean delving back into the realms of the EBU All-African championship and other "never heard of him, never will again" type fights.

Union, I'd thank you not to keep jinxing me as it has almost worked up to this point. A lot can happen in the remaining five weeks
And at my own peril I have some words of advice for my young rival coxy: Don't talk the talk if you can't walk the walk, lest ye be remembered as the David Haye of the UCPL.
Preds in due time.

I'm surprised you didn't put up the Montiel and Angulo fights for this week as that would have been welcome relief among a sea of mainly wild guesses.

Is this Montiel's first fight since he lost to Donaire?

There's also Senchenko, who from memory is the WW WBA holder, in action as well.....
Yet we have some utterly random fighters to guess at.....
As my cricket captain drums into us pre-match "standards boys, don't let them slip..." and the same has happened here with some truly horrific choices!
Next week we'll be into 4-rounder territory between Yink Pink Ponk (3-0-0) vs Yank Mi Dong (3-2-67)

67 draws eh? That's quite something.
As I've said before, if you don't like it, do one.

Aye, together like peas and carrots in the words of Tom Hanks. One by themselves just doesn't work

Too right is like Morcambe without Wise, Torvill without Dean or Bernie Winters without Schnorbitz, it just isn't meant to be.

I'm sure that you don't need reminding, but as tonight's fight from Blackpool is included I can't take any predictions after 17:00 today.

Thought you might've been in hyper-critical mode as I spelt Hernandez wrong by 1 letter....!
