The St George's flag
First topic message reminder :
I recall all too well as a teenager the England 1966 WC victory over West Germany at Wembley.
It was a less complicated time then. But I don't recall seeing more than a tiny smattering of St George's flags. It was the Union 'Jack' that then prevailed.
And now it's all about local nationality. And the English are no longer exempt.
It's a sad reflection of our times that we've become so symbolistically nationalistic whilst politically and economically we become increasingly intertwined.

Sin no one is claiming that oppression is good for anyone but unless you were born prior to 1922 I don't see how you can claim to be one of the "oppressed"!

Absolutely wrong roddersm,
Contributing to Global warming is what I'm on about. Not blaming.

Re: The St George's flag
I support Sin é in his right to feel oppressed!
Come on brothers (and sisters), rise up - you have nothing to lose but your shackles!
"Larks' tongues; wrens' livers; chaffinch brains ; jaguars' earlobes;
wolf's nipple chips, get them while they're hot, they're lovely"

Portnoy unless your PC is powered by solar power or wind turbines and you're posting by candlelight then you're contibuting to global warming right now!

Requote Sin é post " "Being of the 'oppressed' I can take the high moral ground here."
You'd think you would be able to understand English! Note: the smiling icon at the end means I'm joking
PS - We were only a 'Free State' after 1922, so still part of the Empire. We became a Republic in 1948. We were thrown out of the Commonwealth then

Sin I know all about it, with Ulster being oppressed by the Munster/Leinster alliance at the IRFU....

If Munster & Leinster can align/unite to oppress Ulster, Faction Fighting can work wonders!
Edit: It could be a template for world peace! Sort out all the problems the various Empires created.

Evening fellas, I'm not waving a red pen but am just wondering if this topic has either a) run it's course or b) should be moved to off topic?

It probably has run its course, but maybe you should save it for later. Save us all retying all this stuff again in a months time

I think that it's run its course Hobo.
Delete the thread. That's OK by me.
It was interesting though...
