Yep, and from an entirely selfish point of view, that injury screws up my Keeper league fantasy team. Between his injury, Ray Rice being an bumhole and Ronnie Hillman being, well, Ronnie Hillman... I now have just one RB that I can start next week unless I can turn something up this week.

Well Kansas choked that away big time second half
Only 7 points and they had the ball for like 20 minutes of it!! Andy Reid's play calling inside the 10 was abysmal

I'd say we'll look back one day and laugh at how many people thought Tampa would be good this year, but I think that day was last week already. What is going on there?

"@STLouisRams: Fisher confirms when Shaun Hill returns, he will remain the #Rams starting quarterback. #STLvsTB"
Boom fisher dropping the bombshell on young Davis after a good performance and win on the road.
From what I saw Lovie Smith went ultra conservative oh and he doesn't know how to build an offensive line at all.

I went to bed after James Jones fumbled, recovered, fumbled, and lost the ball.
On the same damn play.
No silver lining in what I saw yesterday from the Raiders, we couldn't stop the run and our offense is still anemic.

Lack of practice time and shortened camps. If this is a sign then I'm all for 2 preseason games and a longer camp, but if the NFL wants 18 games, they have to increase roster sizes.

Not too hard to see what the Vikings are thinking; trial isn't until after the season and he's too good to leave on the bench all year.

Winning is everything in the NFL I guess and a 30-7 pumping prob focussed their minds a little.
I struggle to see the difference between what AP did though and what Ray Rice did. From what I've read, AP hasn't denied this. His defence seems to be that it's up to him how he disciplines his kid and that beating him with a tree is an acceptable way of doing that. If he admits he hit his kid with a tree.... how is that different from punching your fiancée in the face?

With 3 minutes to play in a tie game the Colts put the game in Trent Richardsons hands. They never touched the ball again. Quite unbelievable play calling

Indy's front office and coaching staff has/is doing an awful job. Grigson hasn't fixed either the defence or offensive line despite having all that cap room, you could argue they're worse this year, Pagano for a defensive coach hasn't got a well coached D at all and Pep Hamilton is just bizarre

Reggie Bush has offered this probably not all that helpful defence of Peterson:
"I most definitely discipline my daughter. I have a 1-year-old daughter, and I discipline her," he said. "Obviously, every person is different. I definitely will use my best judgment to discipline her depending on the situation, on what happens. I definitely will try to, will obviously not leave bruises or anything like that on her. But I definitely will discipline her harshly depending on, again, on what the situation is."

Mixed feelings on that one... You can't help rooting for a guy with a name like that. On the otherhand, it's just a pity for him that having the ability to tackle is a crucial aspect of playing Safety in the NFL.

Doubt it unless he goes down. Vikes just want to distance themselves with all the backlash, at least until his trial is done with. Funny really, Rice doesn't even get arrested and is banned a season. AP is charged and has trial date and it comes down to the team to discipline him...

Hes getting 12m not to play this season and a further 12m at age 30 next season. Chances are the Vikings will balk at that for a RB

Rice was arrested though. The only reason he isn't on trial right now is because he succesfully applied to go into a programme for first time offenders instead.skins4ever wrote:Funny really, Rice doesn't even get arrested and is banned a season.

So Jonathan Dwyer has trumped Rice and Peterson and done Rice/Peterson combo on his wife and child
Idiot
Rough period for the NFL... you know it's bad when even the UK news outlets are giving it coverage.
So what do we reckon here, are NFL players disproportionately more likely to thump their loved ones than the rest of the world's population? Or are we just hearing about it more just now?

What's the betting they tried to keep these things quiet in the hope nobody would notice. I mean, it's not like these are some of the most famous people in America...
NFL players since way back have had run ins with the law. The NFL still statistically has a lower offender % than the overall population by some margin. Nearly every NFL player does an element of charity work etc. but it only comes up when publicity is a factor. All of the c. 2% of criminal activity by NFL players gets reported for the same reason, the other side of the sword. Everyone is in danger of reading too much into the behaviour of a few asshats. But the NFL will suffer in some regard certainly, because it all hurts their image.

Less than a week on and they're not even funny any more. Usually when a team is this awful it's pretty obvious beforehand. Wonder what odds you could have got a few months ago on Lovie being the first coach to go?Lowlandbrit wrote:I'd say we'll look back one day and laugh at how many people thought Tampa would be good this year, but I think that day was last week already. So you hesitate to stick a fork in a team after 3 games, but after losing to 2nd and 3rd string QBs at home and being obliterated by the Falcons, the Bucs season is on life support.
