The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I am used to being called a bum after people meet me. So your premptive strike only softens the blow should we meet.

Hobo, sounds a bit too like a 'who are your favourite poster' questions that we got with far too much regularity on v1!! And I never used to feature in any of them, so I'm definitely not playing! Anyhow, i count myself lucky to have met nearly all - only Thom, Stand, Willy, Lucky, Glas, Rev, Cariadwr & Prop to go, I think? There's plenty that don't post in here too that I'd happily supp a pint with

Could start a good bonfire with all this tumbleweed!
Rava - no Tommy unfortunately, but we did leave at the terminal where I met him before, so if he did appear, that would've really freaked me out!

Evening all
Hope everyone is well. No real surprises for me in the players released by England today, interested to see the side selected for Saturday now.
Great win for England in the cricket. This is certainly the best England cricket since I started watching them in the mid 80's.
In other news, here is a YouTube clip of somebody that I work with. Would love to show it to the politicians who sit on the a r s e s in the House of Commons all day deciding that we get paid too much and that we should pay more than the 11% pension contribution that we already do...

Comiserations Thomond. Looked like a cracking match from my seat in the pub...Mr C looked particularly scheksy in HD... Still, not the result we expected and one you'd wanted. I missed the Kerry match earlier as I was wandering about.
HOBO - to answer your question mine would be Asbo, Notch, Thomond, PCPete and MrsP (who lurks I bet )...

Hobo you are definately top of my list
Like As, I have had the great pleasure in meeting most of the regs. Some several times and some will be friends for life. I would hope to meet Willie, Rodders and Stand at some time this season. They are Ulster regs so that should be fairly easy.
Thommond I would love to meet you mate, being a fellow lover of Leeds Utd
Then the one person who I really admire and am dying to meet is LDC Pete. He and I have been communicating for quite a while and both are disappointed Ulster and LI couldn't get it on this year. But our day will come.
I hope I haven't offended anyone by leaving them out - apologies if I have

Of those I haven't encountered,it would have to be all;as yet, not a single bad 'friend' although subjectivity does get personal.
Would have been great if a few more of you had cashed in your smile miles, but it looks like at least 11 regs at the Bash(the count is 62 others, with non 606ers from last year atm). The Heat Pit will be given to the newcomers,Kiwi and Hughie, but it''ll be less of a problem than last year(ask Penfro)
Don't forget, the first Sunday in August, and as many days before and after, space is free, food good ,drink plentiful, water scarce:(

I'm amazed that he got up from that hit.
I hope the caught driver "fell over" a few times.
Someone I used to work with and brother to one of the Leeds fans murdered in Turkey told me about the time his Dad found and apprehended a burglar in his house. He rang the Police to say he'd been burgled but had caught him, but they had better hurry up. The officer asked, "Why ?" To which he replied, "He keeps falling down the stairs"

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Being the social tart that I am, I have met everyone from the old 606 Pub and in here... Except Thom and Ona. Really like to meet them. Even if they are from Cork. Im not proud. Breaker would be great craic to meet, Id imagine. We share the same sick sense of humour. And Willy for the same reason...
Few guys outside this Pub Id like to meet and a far better and safer game:
KINGKENNY (RL man)
Cymroglan (Know him online for years)
PJHolyBloke (love his sense of humour)
Hobo (cos he does high-quality training at a very affordable price). Nah, just to say thanks for all this. Where would we be?
Probably a few more, but I'm senile and cant remember. Who are you anyway? Who am I? Why are we here? What goin on FFS ?
I have edited this 4 times.. no more.

Did Penfro do any digging last year, Mick ? I remember him in more of a supervisory/project manager capacity, with Sharpie and me doing the heavy lifting?!

Rava, it will happen my friend, for sure, as Gibbo would say, believe.

Not just chase, but catch him. No idea, he was battered and bruised but somehow managed to not break anything.
To answer Hobo's question, in no particular order I would like to meet Rava, Stag, Cari, Dreamer and MrsP (although she does not post here). I'd love to meet everyone really, and who knows, hopefully at some point in the future will.

Pete - none of our public services are appreciated as much as they should be, and that video is just one example of many individuals who go above and beyond in their jobs. The only time any public servants get recognition is done so negatively - such as now with regards to their jobs and pensions. Only the most senior civil servants in the public sector get a lot of money for doing very little, but that's not how it's portrayed in the media....I could go on about this all night, but I won't in here.
Thomond - good goal that.

Asbo,I must admitt that I was involved in other logistical affairs, and the only proof I possess is a photo of the Pembro leaning on a spade and quaffing a beer I have calculated that the centre of the pit will be 15 paces from the beer tap.Motivation? Perhaps

Ah, i know Cari, and the thing is, I don't want recognition and I don't really want any more money and neither do my colleagues, I just want to be left to get on and do my job and not have to worry about whether in the financial year 1012-13 I will actually take home less in my pay packet than I do whilst the cost of living will have risen.
You are right though, this is not the place for such discussions.
Rugby, rugby, rugby, rugby, rugby.
Roll on the weekend and some Anglo-Welsh wummery on the main board!

Given that I have well in excess of 30 years supervisory experience in the Construction Industry, if there are any lazy barsteward jobs going then I need to put my name down. Watching Kiwi and Hughie digging and then critisising them would be a pleasure

I'm a bit dubious about 'ealth and safety people tonight. I got home and saw my flatmate for the 1st time in 10 days (she spent the last week on holiday in Scotland, while I was in Rome prior). She was driving her work car down the M4 last Friday and ran into the back of someone - hardly good work practice
I've met an awful lot of 606ers now (though not as many as Gibbo, then again I'm half his age ). Can't say i regret meeting any of them either (though when Hound, Hughie and Asbo rang me after the SXV final I came close ).
