The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Yes that is a difference. What we're looking for is why it is acceptable.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Just to clarify on Stag's nice effort yesterday, when the semi-finals thread started going a little off the rails yesterday I chucked a couple of on-topic, fairly balanced (well I thought so ) posts in to try and get it back on track, then ducked into a meeting at work. By the time I got out, Stag had already backed off and things had cooled down, so I left it. I haven't had time to read back in depth (and to be honest, I probably won't get time now) but had I been online I would probably have gotten the red pen out and yelled at a few people. Regardless of whether they're pub regs or not.
I have deleted/edited posts by regs occasionally (you know who you are ). It is true that knowing plenty of the regs personally means I generally have a better idea of when they're serious or not than for the average poster.

it's the ones in between I would feel sorry for.
No need to call Gibbo an bitter so and so.

The bottom line on this is that no other poster complained about Stag's wumming. If they had done, he'd have been warned just like any other poster.

For the football fans in here. Would you just love to be a striker with Mezut Ozil in the team. What a fantastic player who is probably going to get better.

I think the only solution here is to ban Stag and rid the world of his Dragons hating.

I actually have a Dragon keyring. Cari gave it to me. A red stuffed one.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Different position to Xavi. Also, he's still only 22, so has a lot of time to catch up with Xavi.

Munsty, they're both attacking midfielders although Xavi plays more central. He is really the best player in the world.

He's a little genius Munsty. A complete and utter joy to watch. His assists especially. Any gobshite could score from the percision of his passes. Bit like Jonny Sexton...

I wouldn't label Xavi as an attacking midfielder. He's a centre midfielder. The orchestrator. Iniesta is closer to being an attacking midfielder. What a seriously class player he is.

He is not a centre midfielder, he is more attacking than that,he tracks back alright but doesn't do much defensive work, that's Busquets job. He is a bit of a mix between the two.
Ronaldo is a fine footballer who bottles it during the big time, sounds a lot like Bernard Brogan.

A mix between the two, hence a centre midfielder. I don't think there are many classic centre midfielders anymore. Players are becoming more and more specialised.
What big time does he bottle it at? Just saw his scoring record for Madrid. 66 in 63 games. That is simple outrageous.

Edit:
Ah lads, ye may want to check that Scotland v Ireland thread again. I think Sin and Rodders are going to spontaneously combust when the 22 is named today.
Rumour has it, Jones will be on the bench. Best time to try him. Then get a man in for the real games. Murphy.

He was found wanting in 09 versus Barca in the CL final and had failed to deliver when United were knocked out of the CL in 05 and 06. He did sweet FA in the CL this year too. Nor has he played too well in World cups or in Euro 08. http://formationx.net84.net/en/ucl/barcelona.html
You're right about Xavi,as that formation shows, they play a 4-1-2-3 while attacking which changes to a 4-3-3 while defending.

Made the mistake of reading back. I still have no idea what's going on.
I wish we'd brought Ozil to Old Trafford last season I reckon he's a class talent.

It's a generational thing. They're used to having cold war with a load of he said she said I didn't nonsense. It doesn't actually mean anything. They'll calm down when their medication kicks in. Bless 'em.

+1.
My take on yesterday is that Stag is so humourless that when he does engage in the odd wum, it's obvious. No harm done.
Morning Snatch/all.

Thingt is, Stag was obviously joking and letting the more uptight posters wind themselves up. That's quite different to a boring, off-topc WUM.
I don't mind WUMs so long as they're funny.
