Well, makes selection easier...

Looks like it will be the same England side barring Bopara coming in for Trott.

That's how I see it ^^. Big Tremlett may have missed out anyhow with the way the pitch is looking.

Seemed fairly inevitable since Finn was called into the squad as cover.
Quite some depth when your 6th choice seamer has the best strike rate of any English test bowler!

true...we have so much strength in depth in our seam attack, that amazingly, we wont miss him too much....i think its called an embarrassment of riches.

I can see this game being a draw tbh. The weather doesnt look too clever over the next 4/5 days.

I think I'd have retained faith in Bresnan anyway after his exploits at Trent Bridge!

I see where you are coming from, but Tremmers has been the best seam bowler over the past 12 months -definitely the most improved.
Its taken a tough decision away from the selectors.

Only patchy rain, better than a backing hot day at Lords for getting a result. Who knows though

I don’t know which way I would have jumped; Tremlett or Bresnan?. IMHO Bresnan makes the absolute most of his abilities and has improved as a cricketer immensely and deserves to be picked but Tremlett has bowled beautifully over the last 12 months or so and does look more intimidating. If I had to, and assuming both were perfectly fit to play, I would pick Tremlett as his form and results warranted selection and he was the incumbent prior to injury; very, very tight decision though. Actually, if both were fit, I would pick both and ‘drop’ Bopara. I can’t help but think that either of those two bowlers would be far more useful given the strength of the England batting
