Football Manager 2012 - Page 3 Empty Football Manager 2012

Post by sodhat Tue 16 Aug 2011, 10:54 am

First topic message reminder :

Just a note (pinched directly from Wikipedia regarding the 2012 installment of FM. I am desperate to get a hold of this and start playing, I missed 2011 out but I fully intend to get back on this social life-sapping horse.

The next in the series of the Football Manager simulation game is set to be the 19th game released and is reported to include 800+ improvements. The new changes (of which only a few have been announced so far) include an improved 3D Match Engine, a new manager team talk system called "Tone" which will enhance your personality in the game and a different way to select the nations involved in your player database which now means that you can add or remove nations as you play.

The final version though, is yet to be finished as it will need the Summer Transfers within the game and some parts just need "finishing off".

More information from press releases is expected to come out in Autumn 2011 and the game is to come out before Christmas, but if the development stays on course it will be released (like previous versions in the series) in late October to early November 2011. A handheld version is also widely expected, but hasn't been officially announced as yet.

Well I was on it last night until I got beat 3-2 by Villa and Bale got injured. Lost the heart to play it cos I will have to put Downing back in (who isnt a bad player either and got 15 assists last season).

When I bought Bale the headline was 'Fans Fury at waste of money signing!' Laugh

He is quality on it though thumbsup

Won the league in my first season at Liverpool last night, I managed to sign Thiago on loan from Barcelona for the season, only 18 but dominates the premier league, signed Shakiri and Donovan as well. Sold Kuyt, Skrtel and Robinson and gave Coates a place in the starting line up.

Title went down to the last game of the season and managed to sneak a 1-0 at Villa to clinch the title. Just signed Cavanni for the second season as needed a clinical striker.

I've started a new Bristol City file

12 games in and i'm 9th in the table, Maynard top scorer in the league with 10 goals. And I have Aston Villa away in the 4th round of the league cup.

Few transfers, Barry Bannan on loan, O'Connor from scunthorpe £1.1m, Conor Clifford on loan from Chelsea as part of being affiliated to them.

Going to start a game tonight during the Liverpool game with Blackburn, see if I can do any better than Steve Kean, there are always a few decent players on the free market like Pires.

Got this game for Xmas, though not had a lot of time to play it. Just finished the first Transfer Window playing as WBA-team looks like this;

Foster

Hinkel
Dawson(Craig)
Olsson
Figueroa

Forrest
Scharner
Mulumbu
Brunt

Odemwingie/Jelavic
Long

Decent start. Unbeaten in 3 league games, two wins and a draw with Liverpool after being 2-0 down. Beat Derby in Carling Cup.

I'm Leicester at the moment as well as Wales U19 manager (won't explain that as it's boring Laugh)

My strongest 11 is probably:

Schmeichel

Pantsil
Mills
Tunchev
Konchesky

M. Phillips
G. Fernandes
A. King
L. Dyer

Beckford
Daly

One point outside play offs in December now, predicted 5th, aim is to finish in the top places. My form is horribly inconsistent, I lost to Brighton away from home 5-1 then went to Southampton away from home, they are playing better than Brighton but beat them 5-0, madness, and Beckford is second top scorer in the league as he keeps on saving me from losing matches. Phillips, Daly have both been good signings. I got Danny Wilson and Alex Chamberlain on 3 month loan deals but really wish I had signed them for longer as they were brilliant before they had to leave. I signed Sol Campbell as back up but he's not great.

I aim to finish in the play offs this year, but I doubt I'll go up, not sure I want to either with the team I have at the moment, then aim for automatic promotion next year. My first XI is strong, but I lack depth in defence, on the other hand I'm crowded in midfield and up front after I panicked in the transfer market. I got to the fourth round of the Carling Cup which was good, still in FA cup.

Currently in my second season as Plymouth manager. Was promoted comfortably from League Two last season and I am currently top of League One by 11 points after 26 games.

My current squad is;

Iain Turner

Curtis Nelson (fantastic youngster who starts at Plymouth)
Kyle Bartley (loan)
Kirk Broadfoot
Jeroen Tesselaar

Wayne Routledge (loan)
Henri Lansbury (loan)
Connor Clifford
Sone Aluko

Stevie May (youngster from St Johnstone, outstanding signing)
David McGoldrick

I was lucky enough to get Arsenal as a parent team so Lansbury and Bartley are season long deals which I was chuffed with.

im currently in a game with celtic, bought alot of young players when they first came through and sold some of the more well known ones on for a tidy profit. majority of squad are french! always get the best young players from there. currently got a midfileder and defender who will become two of the best players in the game, already great players.

my team, sorry for spelling mistakes trying to remember of top of my head and dont know how half of them are spelt

gk.schmichael

lb. anele (south african defender)
cb. rivas (quick columbian cb)
cb. iyoro (young french lad you came through second season going to be world class)
rb. silvestre (italian right back)

lw. albin (urg left winger)
cm. kabal (only original celtic player left)
cm. the other french lad i mentioned
rw. mccalister (celtic youth product)

cf. yaya sanago
cf. a ivory coast youngster (scored 42 goals last season!)

won the league by 30 points last season, bored of walking the league now. nearly got sacked by applying for other jobs, had to apoligize. but no matter whoi apply for im not getting them despite my world class reputation. think it may be a fault in the game

I know I was lucky with Routledge, but he hasn't played a single game in 18 months so that may have been a factor but he is completely destroying every left back he is coming up against.

Just managed to get past a full strength Wolves (who are currently 3rd in the PL) in the FA Cup with a 4-1 win. Couldn't believe it Very Happy

Guys if you fancy putting your manager skills into practice then why not take on the helm at Leverkusen in the Furious League?

Each week you write team tactics to beat another opponent in the league and bid for players etc, like Football Manager but against real people!

Please drop me a PM if interested!

Started a new one with Wrexham a few nights ago, purely signing loan and free agents first season, brought in Michael Oakes as a player coach, Cougnao (spelling) upfront, and managed to get Laurent Robert as well!

Going to carry the season on tonight during the football so fingers crossed it goes well.

Carried this game on last night, I'm top at christmas, signed Ibrahim Farah on loan from Cardiff, superb player, he'd agreed a permanent deal however on the day I was going to accept it the board put a transfer embargo in place meaning I was unable to complete the deal!

With the club now in talks over a take over, Tim Flowers has started sniffing around my job.

The club finally got taken over last night, then the new chairman decided to take two weeks to decide if he wanted me to stay on as manager keeping the embargo on throughout the transfer window!

Was able to make a few free signings though, got Ade Akinbyi, a young lad from Norwich and two spanish players. As soon as the embargo was over I signed Farah back on loan till the end of the season. League two here we come!

My birds laptop took the knock with my two saves as Liverpool manager and Wolves manager. With Wolves I was riding high in my 3rd season on course for a champs league place and probably wont be able to go back on it now.

After a week off work I decided to start a Wigan game. I brought in new staff and sorted the training out. Bought only kids in my first season: Erik Torres £3.5mill, Mbaye Niang£4mill, Lenny Nangris£3.2mill and Andile Jali £350k. Knowing that they go quality from previous saves, but decided to give them a chance in the first team due to Wigan being turd. I ended up finishing 16th (2 points ahead of relagation but only 5 points from 10th!) and 2 early exits from both cups. I manage to improve my Training facilities to Top at a cost of £6.5mill.

Second season.
As I survived I was entrusted with a £20mill transfer budget. As I was making at least 400k every month. I decided to spread the payments of my transfer for at least 24 months (more depending on the fee) and I spent BIG: Chris Samba £18.5mill, Jack Robinson £9mill, John Fleck £3mill, Romario (RB) £3.5mill and I loaned Alex Chamerlain and Jano (been bought by Man U after rejecting me in the first season). I also sold Rodallega £6.5mill to Juve (only had one year left on contract and would not sign a new one and Boseli to Udinese for £7mill (cos he is turd)

After a fanastic start I was on course for the champs league being in 3rd place at Christmas, but due to me spending all my budget in August, I was unable to make any signings with the likes of Chelase buying Cavanni, Arsenal Yamolenko and Tottenham Adebayor, I ended up finishing 6th with no place in Europe due to Liverpool finishing 7th winning the FA Cup and WBA winning the League Cup finsihing 11th. Erick Torres although only 18 when the season started, scored 24 goals in the league and 31 overall and came second in young player of the year, John Fleck also contributed 17 assists and he was injured for 3 months with a broken ankle, also Vitor Moses and Lenny Langris were also injured for months with a broken leg and jaw?!? I also have now improved my Youth training facilites to Good at a cost of £350k

3rd seaon so far:
After being given another £30mill Budget, but no European football to offer, I scourred the relagated team accorss Europe to see if I could attract anyone. Genoa had been relagated so I bought Sokratis Papastathopoulos but I had to spend £11.5mill to get him. I also purchased Vladmir Weiss for £7mill, Michael Vorm for £3.5mill and Giuseppe Prestia
£1.9mill (future world class CB). I have reloaned Jano after he impressed me but decided against Chamberlain as he was niot worth £30k per week wage Arsenal wanted me to pay.

So far am second after 4 games with 3 wins a draw. But already out of the league cup to Huddersfield on pens! (Dont think I have won one Pen shootout yet on all my saves on FM2012) But wins do include Man U and City. But I was pegged back from 3-0 up to draw 3-3 with Blackburn.

Am optimistic about this season and hope I can get top 4. If I dont I fear I will be sacked due to my large amount of spending Laugh

Best First XI

GK: Vorm
DR: Romario
DL: Jack Robinson
DC: Chris Samba
DC: Sokratis Papastathopoulos
MC: Andile Jali
MC: James McCarthy
AMR: Vladmir Weiss
AML: Jano
AMC: John Fleck
SC: Erick Torres

great defence that soldier, jali and torress are also class. romario and robinson take a while to get great but do eventually. fierro the other mexican at same club as torres is a class young signing. for wigan very good squad the only places i would try to strengthen would be mccarthy in cm and your wingers

I tried t get Fierro for free in the first season but he didnt want to come, I went in for him last transfer window but went to Barcelona. No competition there then. Tevez is still at City and he hasnt player a league game for 2 years, he actually wanted to come to me in a £4.5mill deal but he wanted at least £120k per week and most I could offer was £60k. Would have been a coup for Wigan haha!

Romario and Robinson's stats rocketted up last season and are starting to show there class.

McCarthy isnt actually that bad but I do agree I do now need a top class MC. Fellaini went to Real on my one and hasnt been getting a game so I tried to get him but he didnt want to come. Jali is now worth £5mill, not bad for a player I bought for £350k. I have also Diame and McArthur who are used aswell as backup.

Torres and Fleck are my two most influential players, Torres only score 8 in all comps in my first season but he is now my most deadly striker, his stats have improved dramatically. Think his composure (essential striker stat) was 8 when he first joined and now its 13.

Vladmir Weiss is also quality on it, all the stats you need for a quality winger.

Can't wait to get back on the game but with work, the baby and nagging missus its going to be hard to put the hours in haha Laugh

As my latest fm is 09 I decided to go back to it and manage Sunderland.

First season: media prediction of 15th top

Spent the first half of the season unable to grab a win, bottom after 10 games. Finally got it together in the second half of the season buanotte and donavan were inspirational and we went on a big run unbeaten and got to 14th with 42 points.

Second season: bought in andriy rusol to shore up the defence, Uruguayan youngster Juan angel albin bought in. Fanatastic start to second season winning 7 on the bounce, managed to keep it going bringing in guti to help the midfield. Finished 5th after media predicted 14th! Got offered Ghana job out of nowhere, reached world cup quarter final so far.

Will keep people updated if anyone is interested.

Sunderland squad:

GK: Craig Gordon
LB: Thiago Cotta (young Brazilian Wonderkid)
CB: Andriy Rusol
CB: Anton Ferdinand (c)
RB: Martin Jiranek
DM: Demy de Zeuww
DM: Stephen Appiah
LM: Juan Angel Albin
RM: Landon Donavan
CAM: Diego Buoanotte
CF: Asamoah Gyan

kinda cheated on my fm12 game...

Vauxhall sold a player to Man City for 94 million :P

Vauxhall win Blue Square North with 2 games left. I hate it when good unsigned players appear mid season!

also, turning professional...new training facilities and relaid pitch!

edit: Board just started to build a £2.1 mill stadium!

Just got promoted to league two in my game, the chairman made Everton the parent club, meaning I signed Velios, Jose Baxter, Jose Silva and a german CB on loan for 12 months absolutely free!

got the game, updated the database and downloaded facepacks, kits, logos etc! got a steklo skin working, just trying to find where everything is so the game feels quite slow at the moment compared to 2010'.

can you remove the statistical info at the bottom half of the screen in fm2012 while playing a game in the overview section, really annoying as it hides alot of my background stadia pics.

It's more of a challenge, so yes it is more "funner" Wink

You know you can change the speed of matches?

When you're in a match there's an option at the bottom to speed up or slow down the matches. I usually have mine a bit above halfway and that looks realistic.
