Random Factor... Like A Tractor
First topic message reminder :
Random factor, like a tractor...

Hello. Following its roaring success on the old 606 (winner of six Luckies*) I thought I'd provide a space on 606v2 for you to post any irrelevant little things you fancy sharing.
I'll start: I've always had trouble with the line 'Love grows where my Rosemary goes.' If they'd chosen another name like Anne or Susan there'd be no problem, but rosemary's a herb so it could be 'Love goes where my rosemary grows.'

So I do have an ear for your language after all... now for the syntax.
Brecon sprang to mind since it's the only town I've visited in Wales. We came from the east... through Ross-on-Wye, then across the border and through some delightful mountain pass. Very fond memories of a pint or two I had in a pub on the way there. This was back in 1990.

Re: Random Factor... Like A Tractor
Brychan was a son of a Welsh King who set up his own Principality of Brycheiniog which took his name. That Anglicised to Brecknock, which until 1974 was a Welsh county. The county town Brecon is the anglicised version of Brychan, although on Welsh its called Aberhonddu, meaning the confluence if the Honddu river with the Wye...
Hang on! This is random factor, not a history lesson!
There once was a Welsh Prince from Brecon,
Who'd have plenty of wealth, so you'd reckon
But despite all his riches,
His silver lined britches,
He wanted to be turned into a woman

The cars or the skirts?
Agree, they're both going in opposite directions in terms of size.

Re: Random Factor... Like A Tractor
I was thinking of the car. The old Mini was a brilliant design, but the new one doesn't even look nice. I don't see why anyone would buy one when there are half-a-dozen small cars you could get for thousands of pounds less.
(If you own a new Mini, forget I said anything!)

I'm not so keen on the chunky look of some small cars... sort of over-designed.

Re: Random Factor... Like A Tractor
Most modern cars look broadly the same, all smoothed out. There are very few distinctive designs out there. But every now and then you'll see a car from the '70s or even the '80s and they have such character and style.

Ugh, you mean Crazy Frog. I remember Christmas the year that was out, every advert break seemed to have an advert to download it as a ringtone. I'd put the telly on mute but you could still hear it faintly.
